Hello, i don't know if u mean is it worth using accutane or not, Please don't. i know how depressing acne can be believe me but please i have to warn you of the depression that comes afterwards. It does not occur during the treatment it shows later on after u're done. please take this message seriously and pass it on to whoever wants to try accutane, it does work, but the sadness and deprssion hurts 100x more than having acne. Take it from someone who's had 5 suicide attempts.

When I was on accutaine, which i happily finished a few months ago, I would get a few pimples now and then. But ever since I finishes I havent had a single pimple. This product is amazing. Do you know of any long term side effects of taking accutaine though?

What moisturizer and sunscreen did you use and how often did you go out in the sun during your treatment? I hope the side effects would go away after my 5 months are over. hey i was just wondering if you could shave your legs while on it? aha, i'm going on it in about a month, and when i went to the dermatoligist for her to give me the ok to go on them, and she read through things i can and cannot do, she said i can't shave my legs? :S did you shave your while on them? aha, and did it effect it much? it wouldnt matter too much, but im going to be on these all through summer! aha! xxx

heyy! i went to my derm today and luckily im going on accutane if my blood tests go well:) i'm so excited acne is just social suicide! how long did it take u to see good improvement? i have moderate acne. he said he has seen worse, i was thrilled!:P

i got on accutane and i saw some improvement after the 1st month, dont get impatient cuz trust me its pretty much guarenteed to work!

HI. Thanks for posting your vid's. Im not having a great experience on accutane tho.. Im in the 1st week of Month 3 and im still on 40mil once a day. Im a male 5'11 170lbs...I breaking out so bad right now. My skin cleared up for a little while, but now i have huge zits. I hope this stuff works :/

i just started accutane about 1 month ago and they started me off on 40mg and now make me take 80 mg for my second month. For the first month i already had the major flaking that you're talking about. I seemed to get nosebleeds like crazy though. If you had them what did u use to get rid of them?

I'm so sorry you are getting nosebleeds, especially this early in your course. I was just lucky and didn't actually have any nosebleeds the whole course. I'm sure others have though and can inform you about what to do when that happens. Good luck to you.

Just started second month and aso moved onto 60 mg (30 previous month) I dont suppose you have any tips on sunscreen or moisturizer or anything, 30 mg dried my skin a ton so something tells me 60 is gonna be REALLY REALLY painful lol

@rasharkein1 im sure your derm will want to take the blood tests at his/her office, mine was that way, but i could be wrong, just call them and ask... most likely if youre a female they take the blood tests to make sure youre not pregnant and for everyone else its also to check liver function, so if you have some time go ahead and get those checked( and cholesterol too) and then present them to your derm, it couldnt hurt right :)) good luck, i hope u get it, its awesome so far!!!!!!!

ugh. now i know im not alone, i feel socially awkward at my high school etc, my dermatologist is going to give me accutane the 27th of this month so yea im pretty excited cause its just overwhelming. what a battle it will be

That's normal. My hands also got a little bit dry. Just make sure to always carry around lotion to prevent rashes and peeling anywhere on your skin.

mine were so bloodshot for about a month while i was using like visine and cleareyes... dont ever use that crap

good thing my momma recommeded Systane to me before I used any of the others. But you're definitely not alone. I get really dry eyes and it's just so annoying. At least the Systane will keep me comfortable until it's all over with!

I'm really worried about the depression side effect, have you heard or experienced anything like that?

I have heard about that, and statistics show that it is more likely to occur in adolescent boys. I also know that it is rare, and can be fought by exercising regularly and eating healthy. I was a little down the first month, but once my skin started clearing up and I joined a local gym, depression wasn't ever a problem.

Ha! Thanks bunches! I just use gentle face wash, nothing fancy at all. My face doesn't crack, I just put lotion on before I go out in the morning, and before bed at night. Also, I never pull on my lips, ever!!! That's what causes all those cracks and bloody lips you hear about, which are totally avoidable by using some sort of chapstick and not picking at them, ah!

I do feel my skin get tighter and dry if I am in direct sunlight for longer than 15 or 20 minutes at a time. I recommend becoming a vampire for a while to avoid sun burns and skin cancer.

I love how perky you are! =) I peel too, don't worry. But I use makeup to cover everything up. Do you wear makeup? Like, foundation and such? Because I think I peel more cuz of it. I've slept with makeup on too. It sucks... =(

Thanks for the comment! I'm on month 4 now and barely use makeup anymore, yippee! I either used mineral powder, or a cream based foundation, and I never felt that any of them hurt my skin. They only helped provide me with more protection from the sun.

It depends on your age, and your ability to commit to taking pills every day for 6 months. I am on month 4, have not missed a day, and my skin looks like it did when I was 12! (Before puberty) I'd recommend it to anyone that has tried other solutions and is mentally affected by their acne.

I haven't gotten any dandruff yes, but I use head and shoulders once in a while as a preventative. The gray hairs could be due to a bit of dry scalp, but it seems that should take care of itself once you're off the meds.

I always heard guys have more side effects, especially if they are younger. That's when they are more likely to get the emotional ones. Most guys friends I've talked to that were on Accutane as teenagers talked about waking up with nosebleeds, but fortunately, I haven't had any of those yet, yippee!
