  • I just LOOOOVE that ELP run at approx 7:00! From the TRILOGY album...

  • @Hammondm100 Yeah, I was thinking the same thing after about 6:40...it sounded very Keith Emerson--loved it!

  • R2D2

  • "it's so simple, even I can use it...", and he really does make it look simple.

One thing that strikes me about Don is his "closed-fisted" method. Whereas Jon was all fingers, Don's fingers seem very constrained. Of course, they pop out at the right time and hit the right notes, but it looks odd... almost like he's wearing boxing gloves.

  • @thomasnonsense

Jon did a lot of improvisation where Don more or less plays things the same every night.

So, coupled with Mister PlainMan that's a lot of boring repetetive music.

    YAWN!!!

  • Bob pronononced it Moog Rymes with Rogue not MOOOOG But Love Don just saw them In Chicago

  • @progmisterdude444 "Rymes with Rogue"

Actually that is incorrect. It's Dutch, and hardly anyone pronounces it correctly, that includes the "Rogue" version. Most pronounce it closest to their native language.

So I wouldn't go around correcting people on this, if you don't want to look foolish.

  • Love the Hammond sound

  • 0:14 great song he is playing!

  • @AgurkTomatGulerod It's the introduction to Lazy he does in live concerts...

  • @StevieRayMatt I KNOW............

  • what happened at 4:44?

  • What kind of Leslie Speaker does he use? Does anyone know?

  • AMAZING PLAYER HE IS!!

The Moog Simolater second best, but the Hammond Organ is the best instrument ever! I love the Hammond!

    The Moog simulator too!

(i'm sorry for my bad English... i'm from Holland)

  • @dannyhammondorgan (That Moog is not a "simulator": the Voyager is a true analog synthesizer, like the ARP Odysseys Jon used in the 70s ;) )

    From 6:06 he's wonderful!! :P

  • @AgoAnselmo yeah that hammond solo is great! i know only the sound, not the inside from the moog! and the synth solo's from jon a long time ago are amazing too!

  • Great B3 and Moog playing. Always liked Don's playing from back in the day of Colloseum II with Gary Moore.

  • Very good hamonds ... :-)

  • Nice picture on the laptop at 7:10

  • What are the 2 rolls of tape holding up @ 0:24 ???

  • @RoadhouseRocks pretty sure its a swell (volume) pedal for the Hammond.

  • Jezus... fantastic guys!

  • wow very unique with the ring modulator.

  • Really great sound... !

  • The critics are here!

  • Every time they play Lazy i get a big smille on my face :D Love that tune! :D

  • i get like a modern 60's and 70's vibe from this guys playing. i really like it. tasteful but somewhat repetative. great tone too.

  • this guy good for rainbow...not DP

    and lan g. too

    MK3 MK3!

  • bring black jon lord!

  • @Kingdelfrong i don't think there is a black version of jon lord

  • @Kingdelfrong Lord is happy doing what he does now, he was getting old, and the amount of touring had a hughes impact on his health, if Deep Purple decided to slow down a bit maby we stil had Lord behind the Hammond, but Gillan did not like the idea(what a suprise), but altough Lord is the original, Don is also a great organ player, give him a break Lord's a legend it's hard enough for him standing where Jon used to stand, I think he does a great job ;) .

  • @kissarmy305

Jon, was pioneering. There are many players, who do better what he does. Don Airey is one of them, he's school and the neat technique and knowledge.
