No need to buckle up in those days! Seriously though, why couldn't Chevy revive the two door Chevelle with retro styling from the 60's. Great 60's and early 70's styling with todays safety features. They wouldn't be able to keep up with demand.
I have a 67 chevelle 300 deluxe 4 door for sale its been fully restored to original 3 speed. Inline 6 cyls asking only $9000 usdlls looks just like the one in this commercial
"Drive 'professionally' and you'll learn plenty."(???).. How about 'learning' to face front and "professionally" keep your eyes on the road ahead of you?!!! You'll NEED "great reflexes" if you turn your head to talk to your passenger if you "drive a lot" in this day and age. ...He must have turned his head at the wrong moment, because he didn't slow down enough to handle that hoop-de-doo in the road at :37 -:38 look at the suspension travel!! ......At :21 it looks like he has his lap-belt on.
@michaelmyers1993 It was a 1967 Chevelle Malibu. I know. My Mother had one in dark green. It had a 327 c.i. engine. The top speed was only 100 M.P.H. though because of the way it was geared.
i wasn't talking about the car, i was talking about the seatbelt law which i think was only for 1972 and older vehicles, but i found out that my 1971 chevelle ss came with seatbelts and that every car that came factory with seatbelts needed them no matter what year. you should go buy a 67 malibu and put some good gearing in it and get it over 100 :P
@michaelmyers1993 I had seatbelts in my "71" Fleetwood Brougham. I had the first shoulder belt too. It was introduced in 1971. Back then, you had to backle the shoulder belt separately. Regular lap type seat belts were available from 1966 on. They were optional on cars before that though. My Mother on seat belts in her 1966 Impala and in her 1967 Malibu.
sweet, whats weird is, im recovering the interior to my chevelle and i have the shoulder thing attached to the left hand side of the roof, but there are no buckles to atttach it to
@michaelmyers1993 Check to see that it is not stuffed deep into the seat cushions. Some people did that as very few people used them back then. If they were taken out, you will have problems finding repacements as the locks were of a different size compared to the lap belt, I believe. You may have a good chance ordering them online at some aftermarket Chevy parts manufacturer.
@cadrolls1 Precisely. The FWB's were remarkable cars (Still have mine) the Mark series of Lincolns continued the shoulder belt design, my '72 Mark IV has them too, albeit when I bought it, the shoulder piece was actually missing.
@despotism444 haha funny, but if you went to the 60's and asked where is the seat belt you would have gotten looked at like you have 100 eyes and 50 heads
I just love the '67 chevelle!! I love this commercial too!! is this the only '67 chevelle commercial? thank you for posting!! were can you find these commercials?
I dont know why, just do & No I'm not shittin you. My father would be pissed though. He was a serious CHEVY MAN, His pride & joy was a mint canary yellow 57 hardtop among other chevys he has. I just like them more

I personally think Fords looked better, that Chevy is so plain, I would have rather had a Torino
