I like the Duggars, they should have as many kids as they want. What seems sad to me though is that the other 18 kids seem to get lost in the shuffle since Josie was born. I don't think they realize that the older sisters aren't replacements for Michelle, these kids even the older girls, need their mother. It seems like there is definately some favoritism going on there as well. They made a big hooplah out of Josie's first birthday, but was Michelle even around for Jordyn's first birthday? Sad

I hate seeing this, I mean I am thankful for her and I congratulate the parents, but just seeing Josie like that, it's like a fish out of water, it almost looks like she is gasping for air, I wonder if she is suffering in this video? I am glad she is okay now, but I just wonder if we are aware of how hard it must be for preemies to be born when they are not ready. Not that I am saying that it is wrong for us to take them to save their lives, but you know. I just feel bad for them.

That is so sad. I actually went to go see little Josie a few weeks ago and she is small. she is now over ten pounds and counting!! I used some of my summer vacation to go see the duggars and i'm from florida and it was a blessing for josie to be alive. Josie is alive because God also helped save Josie's life.

she is a hoarder!!! some people hoard dogs or cats and its a bad thing! that is why it is ILLEGAL in the US and they will come and take those dogs, cats, birds, etc away from you. It's so sad that no-one can do anything for these kids. Physically they are fine but imagine emotionally! They have to help raise ALL the younger ones, all the cooking, cleaning, feeding, changing diapers. You always see the kids caring for each other even the little ones. You rarely see the parents changing diapers!

Down syndrome is very unlikely due to the fact that michelle has had so many children. My best friend is the oldest of 12 children and they've researched and been told repeatedly that it's very unlikely that they would have a child with down syndrome as her mothers body is used to being pregnant.

B., If you've been on their website, you would know that they are against using contraceptives. They aren't Catholic or Mormon.

C., Down Syndrome is detected before the baby is even born, so they would've already known if that were the case.

thankfully she is doing well as of now. Much stronger and getting bigger today :) She will be okay, she is definitely a fighter, and I know from personal experience that micropreemies like her, with the will to fight make it through with strength! I was born at 26 weeks gestation, weighed in at 1lb 5 oz, just 11 inches in height. and now am a healthy college student.

At the moment I am about 23 weeks along with a little boy and yesterday the drs told me that I will be lucky if I dont go into labor within 8 weeks. watching this and knowing that my little one is about the same size gives me at least some hope that he will be alright even if we dont make it the 8 weeks.

I grew with people like this. I was raised in a fundamentalist home and forced to go to church where families like this attended. Most of the kids in these families are really smart because they don't have a lot of media exposure, and have a good relationship with their parents. They all home school, so that means their siblings help them out when the subject material gets too difficult.

What sect does this family belong too? Are they Baptist or Mormon?
