this takes up allot of room and i was wondering on steam it keeps pausing a and resuming for the downloading

@narutosakura144 Hi, That may be because the Steam sales are currently on and the server you are downloading the game from is quite busy. In the Steam client, go to VIEW then SETTINGS. In the windows that appears click DOWNLOAD + CLOUD. In the DOWNLOAD REGION box, and select another server. It doesn't have to be in your country, but the closer it is to your country, the faster the potential download speed.

@games4850 owe and another problem when i try to enter a multiplayer match on steam and when i do that it close's the game i still hear sound and it shows up as error page

Out of range means the refresh rate or resolution is unsupported by your monitor. In my video description copy paste in to the file but change to these values:

[DefaultVideoOptions]

VisualQuality=2

StartupFullscreen=True

FullscreenViewportX=800

FullscreenViewportY=600

MaxRefreshRate=60

WindowedViewportX=640

WindowedViewportY=480

Should work fine now. Once the game is up and running for the first time you will then be able to adjust preferences to your liking. Good luck and comment back :)

unfortunately it cant solve my problem. can you please make a video for my exact problem? i want to play this game. here are my exact specs:

@julius3188 What monitor have you got, I know you said you have a 17" crt (make and model if possible), 60hz is the most common refresh rate. As I said before range not supported means either resolution or refresh rate is not supported by your screen. I doubt it is the games fault.

You can try:

The video shows the problem I had. I launched the game, I get black screen for a split second then it crashed back to the desktop as if I never launched the game at all.

It all works fine now and I also recently changed my card to a GTX 470 Hawk :)

What is the problem you had with it, I have one too, it crashes after 30 mins or so, is this the solution or it's the solution to another problem, also, I have Splinter Cell Conviction on Steam

dude in my ccc, it never shows those options. I barely have any options. Wtf. On my windows xp computer I used to have tons of options... (but i was like half a year ago)

@Euroliite About half a year ago they changed the CCC layout so perhaps thats what you mean. To get that screen up just click the graphics button on the top left hand corner and click on ATI overdrive. Then it'll all be greyed out if you haven't changed anything in here yet. Just press the padlock button and click 'Yes' or 'continue' on the caution.

@Croanarhist Becuase the file is in a hidden directory, you need to make sure in 'Folder and search options' (in windows explorer), you have set the option to 'Show hidden files and folders. If you don't know how to do this then copy this into your address bar after the watch?v= bit: VStenY5fOK4

updated tp 10.4 tried 10.4 a, and the so called leaked 10.5 all no good,

some ppl from steam have fixed the issue by going to c program data ubisoft convictionuserpc and changing the resolution settings , i tried that as well still wont run

i have core i7 with 2 5870's

while i waited for a fix for this i grabbed chaos theory from steam , well guess what that wont run either

Don't worry man, your not the only one with problems, I can't get SLI working with my GTX 295, choppy framerates are awesome.
