If that really is Paul Jacobs as Moe Cocker, he sure does well at imitating Joe's voice, as well as changing his own. His voice here is considerably different from the one he used when singing "Beginning, Middle, and End". Nice work on his part.
This is a brilliant spoof on the original. It was quality writing like this that made Sesame Street as enjoyable for the parents as it was for the children. The genius of this show was excellence in every area of production. Expose youngsters to excellence at an early age, and they will learn to appreciate it - and produce it!
memories, memories, memories, thank y for posting this one ,after seeing one years and years ago i keep watching and never saw it again until now. there is another song i'd love to here it goes somthing like this 'and when the children are playing and tell go away it make me mad, very very angry can u find it and post it for me?
This isso cute I remember this so well. All the dogs are cute but the dog who was singing this song and the poodle wher the cuteist dogies ever so was the dalmation. But I love all those dogs they are all so cute. Even the Westie I just want to sit and cuddle all those cute lovely dogies. I would take home the singing shaggy dog, the singing cute poodle, the singing westie and the singing dalmation. And they could all sing to me when I feel sad. I could take all those dogs home and give them tlc
It was wonderful watching these old shows with my son. Sesame Street never forgot that behind every cute little 3 year old, was a mom or dad that was also watching. The very best one ever was ZZ blues.
Because of this, I thought that the Joe Cocker version was the original of this song when I first heard it years later. It wasn't until I was almost 16 that I found out the Beatles wrote the original.
The Sesame Street dogs seem to be based on actual breeds unlike the Muppet Show dogs. There's a Yorkshire Terrier, a poodle, a dalmaiton, a beagle and a dauschaund (or however you spell it). The lead dog could just be a mutt.

An excellent version of the classic song. I don't think I'll ever get bored of it no matter how many times I hear it.

O.O
What's really sad is the chorus sounds so much like With A Little Help From My Friends' chorus.

I think two of the dogs are a Yorkie and a beagle. Looks like a wienerdog on top of the doghouse, or whatever you call it.

This is a parody of "With A Little Help From My Friends" that follows right after the song "Seargent Peppers Lonley Hearts Club Band" right?

Yes, but it's also a spoof of Joe Cocker's popular cover.
