Bullying in college & university

Yeah, I don't know if this counts as bullying or not - but some students were spreading rumors about me and trying to make me look as stupid as possible. Then they would try to be my friend...it was the most underhanded thing I've had to deal with. Made me want to do things to them that I can't repeat here...

I faced 3 bullies who were my teamates in tennis today and i almost left the court crying because it hurt so bad the way they were treating me.

i'm being bullied in college it sucks. got swirlied and others and its affected my life. it does happen, sometimes outwardly or subtly. i talked to my mom about it and am starting to gain the confidence to actually do something about it and will. you can do something about it...good luck!

Alright but if someone bullies you in College just file a harassment report to Campus Police. I know it's harder to deal with in high school and such but in College you can get people in major shit and gay parents won't get involved. Plus 90% of bullies are too stupid to get into college. And either way there will always be assholes everywhere...

Bullying is alive and thriving at California College of the Arts in San Francisco/Oakland. One would think that students at a top art school would accept differences of others . . . I hope administration does something about it!

Ironically, I thought bullying was nonexistant in college, as I'd hardly seen it at high school. Unfortunately, I've been witnessed and verballyexperienced it myself. It's more obvious then you think, maybe people are more socially mature, but think about a lot of the frat house kids and kids who call other kids "fags". It's not the same thing as "oh that kid nerdy lets pick on him"- nobody will bother you if they don't know you, but certain people are very judgemental when they do get to know u

@badskroy71 Sometimes the bullying occurs as a result of administrative efforts. The worst kind is when admin conspires against a student, bullies and harasses them and then encourages students to do the same. Algoma isn't perfect, and there is some cruelty that goes on there, but the admin was my main problem. The students were generally okay.

me too,i thought i doesnt exist in college but it does,i experienced it and it scard me for life,it sound childish but when im depress,those memories keeps on coming back like it was just yesterday,its just so humiliating and i dont think i can get over it

Bullying does exist and there is a click at my school who spreads all kinds of rumors about me and try to stop anyone new from becoming my friend.

Bullying does exist very much and if people did it in high school, I believe those people carry those traits on to college. It does not just disappear from thier mind.

All my professors say just to ignore it and that just is not possible.

Damn, I'm sorry to hear that girl is trying to wreck your life. I can't help but think the people who bully others in college need to go somewhere else while people try to learn new things. Even in high school it's ridiculous!

@QueenofSheba2007 That happened to me..first a some girls just didn't like me(Since the first day of school) and then eventually all the people they know started acting fishy around me(and i go to a community college)...???...Idk what happened...I'm normally friend and social outside of school but it didnt work there :(I'm cared all have an emotional break down

People who say it is rare are usually covering up for their other friends who are the bullies. I saw that a lot at UMaine in Orono Maine. A lot of people protected the clique that does the bullying so they can fit it, so they pretend it doesn't happen.

At the University of Maine we have that First Class system and students cyber bully each other and sometimes school workers join in on pig piling on someone by twisting their words, making them look bad, and making pot shots at a students character. They are very vicious one minute and nice the next at UMaine. Upsetting people at that school.
