@alvin12360 well... my dad is an electric engineer... first he was telling me to be an engineer// now he says it sucks... :@ (but still.. im considering it.. :))
what is the difference between electrical eng. and electrical and electronics eng.Which branch has more job opoortunities and salary and is it better than chemical engineering.
@alvin12360 chemical engineering isn't nearly as broad and I don't think it pays as much, but it's important for stuff like water quality and other substances humans interact with. Essentially any component that is comprised of chemicals or molecules.
I don't know the difference between electrical and electronics. But electrical engineering pays well (from what I've researched $55k - $170) depending on experience, size of company, geography, and exact position.
@alvin12360 Basically Electronics Engineering and Electrical Engineering is very much the same. Electronics Engineering is relatively new compared to Electrical Engineering because small scale "electronics" never existed century's ago. While Electrical Engineering was more focus on large scale Electrical Power, Energy distribution back in the day. now today Electrical Engineering now has both Electronics and Power systems and Energy same as Electronics Engineering has electrical energy.
@alvin12360 Both Electrical and Electronic Engineering will get you the same exact type of job. Electrical Engineering actually came before Electronic Engineering. Most or almost all 4 year universities use the name Electrical Engineering instead of Electronic Engineering because it includes electronic engineering courses in the electrical engineering major. So you won't see much universities with the name Electronics Engineering unless its an Engineering Technology program like EET.
@alvin12360 Electrical Engineering is indeed the largest of all disciplines of Engineering. I would think that job opportunities would be better for Electrical Engineering over Chemical Engineering. But both has great career outlook and opportunities.
@sgtshendou Computer engineers make computers faster, smaller, and cheaper. Electrical engineers develop and work with energy systems, fiber optic networks, circuits, electromagnetics, communications, controls, signal processing, the foundation of many electronic devices, the nation's power infrastructure, and more.
@ISUengineering Oh you forgot Embedded Systems, Semiconductors, Microelectronics, Micro controller/Microprocessor, RF and Telecommunications. Both Electrical & Computer Engineering has topics in embedded systems like C/C++ which is mainly for low level and Assembly programming for embedded microchips know as firmware or embedded OS but also for high level programming as well. Computer engineering focuses more on that area though. that's where you get in to some of the Computer Science stuff,
@ISUengineering ok thats a little biased there and not entirely correct. computer engineers themselves dont make computers cheaper, the firms decide to market past computers as cheaper, the computer engineers themselves have no say inthe price of a computer. also computer engineers dont just have to work on pcs, they can work on anything relate to computers , for examples cellphones, gps, ipods, etc.
@ISUengineering are you sure stark is an electrical engineer not an electronics engineer.? what is the difference between electrical and electronics.!
@sgtshendou from my perspective, ce is specific and more niche. EE is huge, broad, and very important to our way of living today. Electronics and technology wouldn't exist without the efforts of electrical engineering and physics.

wow, where are the ladies? How can women be interested in things such as marketing and public relations when the sciences are so much more interesting?
@MichaelNetwork i dont like it anymore, i joined it because all of my friends were going there its like a trend here, i took a wrong decision, ask yourself that what you want to be as your career...always listen to your heart, if you want to become an artist be one, if you want to be a engineer be one...but decision should be yours....so you will not regret it ever..
@muis786 I'm may want to question you why did you intent to purse something that your not going to enjoy or like. what is it that you don't like about electrical engineering? You really have to be very discipline on pursing an engineering degree. You really have to love what you want to do in order to be a successful engineer. Do you still want to pursue engineering? if so I would change you discipline from Electrical to something different. or choose a different major if that's the case.

Tony Stark built his Iron Man suit in a cave, and he is an electrical engineer. That's enough of a reason to be an electrical engineer.

actually Nikola would have been the old russian (bad guy's father) whom tony stole the tech from...
20no1listens2me 10 months ago
@sk8pn yes, but no, nikola tesla did not know how to write code, also the iron man suit does not use magnetic fields as a source of power
