  • To me this song has always sounded nearly identical to Seal's Kiss From A Rose.

  • 'kay... Who wants to make a cover ?

  • 240p? You don't need any more than that to appreciate art.

  • so what episode is this in

  • @dereckdav Ganymede Elegy. When Jet is chasing Rhint.

  • Makes me wanna play Skyrim...

  • im begging you all, if any of you have the instrumental version of this please send it too me or tell me where i can buy/download it? i am just in love this the instrumental.

  • Its amazing how just one guy with his guitar can emit such a beautiful sound, and it brings me so much nostalgia when I listen to this, like I can perfectly and vividly remember cowboy bebop with just this one song. Its very peculiar

  • "Back then when I got home from work, you were always there waiting for me. And that was all I needed. Just you."

When Rhint and Elisa are trying to escape with Jet behind them, and she realizes the game is up, it was sort of heartbreaking, but then Jet is the Black Dog, and when he bites he doesn't let go...

  • im glad to have saved this to favourites. Years later, stumbled upon this again. Thank you Cowboy Bebop, thank you artists who've created this masterpiece

  • This song reminds me of Kiss from a Rose by SEAL for some reason O_o atleast the beginning of it.

  • @strezzedoutz haha your so right! XD

  • I listen to this when falling asleep sometimes. It results in some very nice dreams and I usually wake up in a decent mood.

  • I don't know why everyone is hating on the vocals. There's absolutely nothing wrong with this song. It's phenomenal.

  • "you're not going to let him go are you?"

  • This music makes me wanna watch a western movie

  • @jeankepler

    i recommend Hidalgo

  • ok thats it...

    i start playing guitar

  • I like this song.... but no voice, guitar is awesome!

  • steve bonnell `-`

  • In my minds eye I see tales of love and revenge. Dunno, can't shake the feeling after seeing the Cowboy Bebop scene with this.

  • search for Pierre Bensusan for more of this music, he is the singer and guitarplayer in this song

  • @rogiermusic

    cool ! thx a lot

  • this is a lovely song, but i would like it alot more without the singing and just the instrumental. does anyone know where i can find it ? or could someone tell me if they have a version without the singing and just the instrumental?

  • As soon as this song started to play in Cowboy Bebop I immediately fell in love.

  • @Kukijiro me too :)

  • All on a beautiful morning....

  • Loved this episode, but what is with Jet's ex? He asks a really reasonable question, and she prattles on about time moving foward and such shit. Common courtesy, bitch! Have you heard of it? I'm yelling at a fictional character!

  • @Slashbash ahahahahahaha

  • actually it kinda reminds me of greensleeves.

  • i love when this plays when jet is chasing down that guy

  • This song plus Rainy Mood must be an eargasm.

  • You know what I think is so appealing about this piece? The passion in his voice.

  • this song is perfect on a warm clear day in the northwest. its very mountainous so if you get to a high spot you can see mountains with snow on the caps and forest as for miles and miles. i fucking love living here.

  • this is god, in art form...

  • this track was an unexpected likeness for me, I at first thought it was wishwashy but, it's very folky and nice.

  • it kind of feels like a FMA Soundtrack ..kindaXD

  • This reminds of that seal song Kiss from a rose

  • @FALC0NKNEE Exactly what i thought when i heard it! You can even sing Kiss From a Rose over this...

  • Deadly Premonition soundtrack "The Woods Of The Goddess"

sounds very similar to this. Swery must be a Yoko Fan

  • @malachiteR wow really? "puts on dunce hat and goes to the beack of the class" lol

  • i listen to this whenever something tragic happens to me or my girlfriend. whoa thats alittle dark.

  • @sonofdark18 No, that's a little bit lame and teenagery sounding. lol

  • does anyone else hear "Kiss From a Rose" here?

  • @Wermodaz Ahaaha! I'm so glad you posted this, I couldn't figure out where I'd heard this melody before!

  • Somehow, this was the most suiting song for a dramatic chase scene.

  • it's so sad that the rest of the world havent watched Cowboy Bebop and isn't aware of these masterworks.

  • This track always makes me think im in a medieval time just riding through villages n shit greeting people

  • @xDTHECHEMISTx I'll have some of what your on =D get what ur sayin tho

  • @kgbwarrrior

lol..hey im just sayiin man. it fits!

  • I want the TAB so badly : (

    Anyone willing to help me...?

  • I just realized something. This is a "guy with an acoustic guitar"-song. Todd in the shadows would probably hate this.

  • Once again, the use of the lyrics "La la la la la la la la la" have surprised the music world.

  • That is one of the saddest faces I've ever seen from an animecharacter.

  • powerful sounds like a cowboy ready for a showdown. bang

  • How skilled is Yoko Konno for creating such different songs ! and she can do that in so many different languages : of course Japanese, English, French and Latin for Cowboy Bebop !

  • @pelicland

And "Kannese." Do NOT forget Green Bird.

  • Tiggy diggy diggy YUP!

  • This is almost the tune you hear when a Knight is about to leave his castle for a quest. Like It starts with the song being actually played during dinner, then the song continues as he leaves and goes on the adventure.

  • I'm making tabs for this one :) Let me know if you want it. It's not complete yet though.

  • @mlavik1 I WANT IT!!!

  • @bnzaiboy haha, ok! I've completed the solo part (2:41 - 3:37), as well as the intro and some more :)

I haven't transcribed for a while, but I will start again as soon as I have more time. Do you want me to send what I have? If you are going to play without singing, you will mostly need that solo part anyway.

  • @mlavik1 yeah sure, send meh what you got!

  • @bnzaiboy Sure! umm, I'll need your e-mai for that, so please send it as mail. Or is it possible to do it otherwise, now that google account is connected to YouTube? o.O I dunno XD

  • @bnzaiboy Oh, and do you have guitar pro? if not I will send pdf

  • @mlavik1 neeed please :) i´d be so thankfull :(!!!

  • @St3tox Sure! Sent me your e-mail (as YouTube mail). I still haven't transcribed much more, but I have the most important parts :)

  • I give Cowboy Bebop a 10 point out of 10. It's simply excellent portrayal of a space-western-styled future along with everything inside it.

  • This is the perfect accompaniment to the chase on Ganymede, for me it's one of the best songs to be used in the Cowboy Bebop series. Oddly enough it also goes well to getting high or masturbation.....funny that.

  • @smokemesalmon :) gettin high yeah. but while janking? hmmmmmm^^

  • @smokemesalmon WTF............

  • @smokemesalmon I lol'd

  • This is the best soundtrack in Cowboy Bebop to me.

  • @qwuezalothus I can't say any soundtrack is the best in Cowboy Bebop. The show and all of the soundtrack is amazing.

  • @qwuezalothus Yeah, I think it's my favourite too. No words needed, only good music... This one is really special!

  • @qwuezalothus oh yeah it is.

  • The scene when this plays, Jet Black going after the bounty his old girl is involved with, is one of the most memorable moments for me.

  • Behind every piece of music is a story. The guitarist and vocalist here is Pierre Bensusan, whose ancestors were Spanish Jews who fled to North Africa during the Inquisition. Hundreds of years later, Bensusan and his family had to flee Algiers for Paris during the civil war that ensued after decolonization. You hear the passion of his personal and family history, and the pathos of humanity always subject to movement and change. His is World Music, for all time and all the human race.

  • @Muhlenburger I read your comment in Laughing Bull's voice because it sounded just as wise as whatever Bull would have to say.

  • When does this play in the anime/film (although I'm sure it plays in the anime at some point), I can't quite put my finger on it.. :'(

  • @sundaesonsaturdays Actually it plays two times:

    1. At the end of "Asteroid Blues" when swimming bird chases the red eyed coyote and his woman

    2. At the end of "Ganymede Elegy" when the black dog cant let go of his past while she tries to escape with her new love (one of my favorite scenes in the show)

  • @SenFBarath Well, that was a fairly quick reply, wasn't expecting anything in a couple of weeks, let alone an hour!

Thanks, how do you remember like that? I find it so hard! Well, thanks :)

  • @sundaesonsaturdays

    Quite the coincidence eh?

Well, i watched it a million times, thats all there is to it ;)

CB is, after all, still the best anime out there.

  • @SenFBarath Oh, I'd agree, Cowboy Bebop is just amazing.

    Thanks again :)

  • @SenFBarath it also plays during the episode when Ed leaves the Bebop

  • 3:56 sounds like turkish music^^

  • lol the whole damn soundtrack is helpin me right my movie right now an its soundes gud 2 thanks

  • You're not gonna let him go, are you?

  • @Obelixbsc26 wasnt that "The Road To The West"

  • what episode or scene was this song played?

  • @lylaben Episode 10, "Ganymede Elegy" It is when Jet is chasing a bounty that is the boyfriend of an old girlfriend of his. They are on a boat with a fan engine while he is going after them in the Hammerhead.

  • @ancientalt thanks

  • @ancientalt

"I'm the Black Dog...and once I bite...I never let go.

  • @ancientalt in the first episode the song is also played

  • @Obelixbsc26 I see. I do not remember it from the first. I think it is just more memorable from 10. Anyway, thanks for the song's appearance update.

  • Such an eloquent sequence. I don't even know, I don't really have the power or right to describe it properly. The music, I know, is beautiful.

  • such a beautiful sad person on the cover.

  • maybe it was a request from client or producer to resemble the song.

it happens sometime in the world of capitalism.

  • This song has always been bittersweet for me...it is hauntingly beautiful in it's message....great song

  • this song makes me thing of the buttercream gang for some odd reason... Such a strange movie.

  • :'( this song makes me sad for some reason

  • "They call me the black dog.

    Once I bite, I don't let go."

I always feel bad for Jet when I see that episode...

  • @crapmunky99 oh yeah. I feel like its a reflection on social roles in asian culture and how strongly a person holds to them due to etiquette standards.

  • I really like the picture. Faye is so strong and stiff, it's hard to feel empathy for her sometimes. This rendition really shows the humanity she is constantly trying to keep covered up...

  • Trollololol lol lol lol lollollol!!!! Hohoho!!! Uh oh ho ho ho HAHAHAHA!!!!1 ohhhhhhhhh- Trollololol lololol lolol lololol.

I'm just saying that's what it reminds me of.

  • This song is so captivating from the first time you listen to it, from the first notes... It's so full of mysticism, feeling... it could have been written any moment in history

  • omg this song gives me chills XD

  • any one know the lyrics? lol, jk

  • wats are the songs calld from episode 24

  • @codycatsss are you talking about "call me Call me" when ed:'[ leaves?

  • One of the animes that I like the most.

I am now having a glass of Logan, 12 years old, on the rocks...listening to the rain and to the OST of Cowboy Bebop..watching the lights of the city from my room. Might as well light a cigarrete right now.

    I guess I'm a little drunk already..

  • No cover on Youtube has been able to do this justice.

  • coolest chase scene evar!!!!!

  • call me crazy but at the beginning it sounds like kiss from a rose

  • @jcfadul Thank god I'm not the only one who thought that. When I first heard this on the show I was frustrated for hours trying to figure out what it reminded me of

  • This song fit the mood of the chase scene perfectly; so much emotion.

  • simply beautiful. that's all i can say about it.. love it.

  • Trololololo....

  • What episode did this play in?

  • @Lunarity1 Ganymede Elegy, I think.

  • @Lunarity1

You can hear ELM in : "Asteroid Blues" and "Ganymede Elegy"

  • anyone else find the CD cover absolutely haunting?

  • makes me want to kill a mythical creature for some reason.....i thinkin somewhere around the kibler elves?

  • It actually took me quite some time to find this song. But it was well worth it...damn good guitar work and brilliant vocal. I really love that nothing is said in this song and yet it seems to communicate directly to my feelings...awesome

  • @shuntaro2408 Likewise on the search, a few hours, and this seems to be the only one on YouTube. I always liked this song, somehow it felt like I'd heard it before, long ago, but can't remember. It's wonderful.

  • @IexoPeoa - thats how i always felt. even when i very first heard it. it just seemed so.. natural to sit and listen to it.

  • Nice Celtic theme

  • Is that supposed to be Faye crying on the album cover?

  • @PHILLYHEAT215

I believe so; probably what she would look like as a real person.

  • @PHILLYHEAT215 yeah... but never ever make any mistake on this women

this is the face of the ost cover, and in the back, you'll see she holding a gun, lock and load on the back

  • wicked theme

  • ガニメデで流れてたやつですね。

    美しい曲です。

  • Yeah yoko kano did escaflowne too.

  • actually i got the same feeling from ask dna. i have no idea from where, but i feel like i heard the melody somewhere before.

  • @Arlian666 the melody vaguely reminds me of Kiss From a Rose by Seal

  • @whothewu you are sooooo right.

  • Is this melody used in Escaflowne somewhere, or is it just the style that's reminding me of that?

  • Hey Yoko Kanno, Im really happy for your theme, and imma let your finish in a sec, but Freddy Kruegger has had one of the best Elms of all times...

  • @elendless hilarious

  • does anyone else think this sounds like "Seal - Kiss from a rose"?

  • I probably wouldn't have made the connection if you hadn't said it, haha. But yeah, now that you say it, I hear it.

  • I know right? a lot of her music is like that actually, like they aren't too close, but if you pick up on it, it sounds suspicious >.>

  • @KNIS56 I just watched this episode and I looked everywhere for the song because it sounded like Kiss from a rose for me, too. I LOVE how this song was implemented in Episode 10.

  • @KNIS56 lol.. only ALOT

  • @KNIS56 No. This is much better =)

  • @KNIS56 yeah, now that i think about it. it does =)

  • @KNIS56 That's because both songs are vaguely based on Medieval music. So the structures / chords (apologies for not knowing the correct music terms) are very similar.

  • Yes,you right. It`s very similar. You have good musical ear

  • @KNIS56 I was thinking the same thing as soon as it started lol.

  • @KNIS56 Old comment but owell, they both could be using some old musical melody that sounds similar... Only the beginning of the Seal song sounds like this anyway, the rest is pretty different...

  • XD yea I see the resemblence

  • This song was so great for when it was used in the anime!!

  • its ok that your flaming but you dont have to bring down good music

  • I think they were joking... but thanks for defending the song anyways.

  • oh well the internet and all forms of text suck at sarcasm or any other emotion for the most part and ur welcome

  • Wow...

  • Geez, man, there's no need to be immature. Especially when discussing music this classy, from a production as classy as Bebop was.

  • @InchonDM lol

  • jajajajajaajajajjaajajajajajajajaja

  • ahhaahhahahahaha +1

  • he's playing finger style, so you're hearing two parts on the guitar. He's sliding from F, to F# to G then open A string, all while playing the bottom part on the E, B and G strings. Its just hard to hear because the vocalist sings over them ( quite well, might I add.)

  • @ourgreylove

Pierre Bensusan actually plays in D modal (DADGAD) tuning. Genius guitarist, really, the way he does it and is able to make it sound like other tunings.

  • Sounds good to me.. he's staying good there..

  • Huhm..I don't see any mistake in that though...Anyways, great music !!!

  • Someone tab this out for me so my dumbass friend has to sing it in public.

  • that music is like simon and garfunkel from the middle ages... Nah nahnahnah nah nah nahhhhhhhh

  • Nah, nahnahnah nah nah nah...

    KATAMARI DAMASHI!!!1!
