Yeah, the camera backs you up as the camera doesn't even show you running a red light. But as a heads up, disabling annotations does make your license plate visible.
definately didnt go through great lengths to conceal identity....besides, myself, the officer and his commanding officer know who i am, and that's all that mattered. I am not posting this video to "bash" law enforcement, or spread negativity, i just wanted to "voice" what this particular officer did, and the lies he told me when he cited me. it never really was about me saying that the citation was to "drive up revenue". my point is that as an officer of the law, or any other human being for that matter- honesty, and integrity are key. and this officer lied to me twice when he pulled me over. he first said that "he was sitting at circle k" whn he witnessd me, (and clearly he wasnt) -he also thn changed things, and said "your back tire didnt cross the intersection line".....which makes no sense at all....
last thing i'd say mhs411, is that it's not that i think all cops are bad- hey, we are all human, and we all make mistakes. but this officer should "own up" to his mistake, and say he was wrong, and there is definately no reason for him to have to lie to me face to face. Hopefully he will think twice next time he has a "questionable" situation, -and realize that if he chooses to write a citation- he better be right. Let him know that when you see him...he hasnt commented on the vid in som time
i appreciate your comment, but there is no way the officer could see the lights from the spot he was at on Ina road, when i actually crossed the intersection. if you drive to that exact spot, there is literally no way for him to see the lights. even on a "zero" traffic day, there is no way to see those lights until you are literally almost at the intersection. there is no way for that officer to make that call.....
i dont know why he pulled me over, i guess he "assumed" that i ran the red light. but that's the problem, and the reason why i posted the video. this officer's "assumption" that i ran the red, cost me and my family $200 for the class i had to take. I just wanted to express to the officer, -when you write up a citation, you better be 100% sure that it is valid. It affects peoples lives, and in my case, this officer was basically making a "guess" that i ran the light. it's about INTEGRITY
Marana cops are not as bad as DPS (especially those Gestapo Bastards in District 6) but they are another example of bored cops with too much free time on their hands. So attempts to generate revenue for their little community is to be expected.

If u were 2 drive bck 2 tht exact spot on ina, stop, & attempt to view the frontage road lights 4 southbound traffic..u simply cant see the lights frm tht distance. There is no way for u to make a judgement tht i ran tht light. Tht is the bottom line, & there's no arguing tht. Train/No train, whtever. I was through tht light on a green, & did NOT run a red. its abt INTEGRITY

Just out of curiosity, when you ran the light how long did it take for traffic to proceed or did they even honk at you. If you were paying attention.

As a cop in southern Arizona I can say that you are absolutely right. There is no way to determine what color the light is from that distance. Also, if any part of your vehicle is within the intersection prior to the red light you are legal. Did you at least win in court?
i think the officer either didnt know, or didnt realize that this intersection light, when there is a train crossing INA, the southbound frontage road lights do go "green" depending on the train length. the left turn is red, but through traffic goes green, from time to time, during the day.

regardless of what side the camera was on, the point is that the officer had absolutely no view of the intersection lights. NONE. The distance he was from the intersection, there was no way for him to make that call. He basically LIED, and there is no way for him to even claim that my "back tire didnt make it across".
