@actstasi are you freaking serious have you seen bushes blooper real, I have never seen a man more unprofessional and act more like a goofball than any other.
@actstasi that's precisely the question that hovered over people's minds when he was elected president. "why?" it became all the more baffling that he 'won' - accordingly - the second time. many outside the U.S. thought it was an episode of Ashton Kutcher's practical jokes. :)

The illusion of democracy is an insult to our intelligence. Two political parties owned by the same set of corporate lobbyists, they are placed in their positions by the corporations with popularity artificially projected by their media.
moron. they have the most money, but turn people away from critical operations so healthcare there is only for the wealthy. how can the USA ever help anyone when they believe that pure capitalism will resolve unfair situations in areas of the world paritcularly states that have un-democratic government! worst "leader of the free world" of all time and his father was a dick too. Letterman is an uneducated journalist too. how can americans stomach this type of political interview?
Obama should listen to this. Only one voice and he respect what they president is doing or did. Bush did not say he Inherect Obama is like a baby and he will destroy the not just the country but the Democrat Party
Gore did more for the environment than Governor Bush ever did in his 8 years in office. In fact, the Bush administration totally ignored the global environmental problem.
Keeping our country safe, ridding Iraq of an evil dictator and leading them toward a constitutional democracy, reducing taxes and keeping the economy strong (until Barney Frank and the Democrats took over the Finance Committee and Congress respectively in 2006), putting the Taliban on the run in Afghanistan, increased significantly aid to Africa in an effort to feed children and fight AIDS, well, there's a start.
OK, let's put this partisanship to one side for a second here. In ridding Iraq of an evil dictator he pitted it into a civil war which cost hundreds of thousands of lives due to lack of foresight and manpower. The economy might not have crashed until 2008 but Bush burnt a pretty big whole with a $trillion war, which drove up oil prices in the Middle-East crippling drivers. If Bush had focused on Afghanistan completely the Taliban might well be vanquished by now instead of destabilising Pakistan.

global warming is a tool used by the government, to put people into an even further state of fear from something you cant even see, kindve like terrorism.
Islamic extremists are savages that deserve to be hung by their balls, and moderate Muslims, both in the US and in the Middle East, are cowards that don't speak out more against extremists because, at their core, they are of the same faith.
"Islamic terrorists" like the king of Saudi Arabia are the only reason why our gas prices are not at $10 per gallon, like it is in some European nations. They also are business people who have a lot of political power in the US because of their control of natural resources and their businesses
If you have done ANY sort of research into this religion before denouncing it at all, then you would realize that there are plenty of Muslims who are very much against violence and who are ashamed and angry at their fellow Muslims who give them a bad name.
very classy comments by Bush, he wouldn't criticize Clinton. you won't see others do that. He never wanted a war, don't forget he inherited the problems about 9/11. I wish Bush had of been able to drill for oil in ANWAR. Gore is such a douchebag. Bush is a good man, he tried, he did well on somethings, but he also got a ton of crap thrown at him, Gore would have screwed us..
Agreed. He dropped the unemployment rate Clinton had which was 6 down to 4.4% It wasn't easy inheriting a mild recession from the Clinton era. And then 9/11 hit and that had further economic distress. Because of the Bush tax-cuts, the DowJones industrial average, productivity, wages, manufacturing employment all sky-rocketed. It wasn't even until the Democrats took over congress that people started losing their jobs and the economic crisis began.
Voice, you are an idiot. It was called a bubble caused by the Feds actions, we are paying for it now. Bush is the most pathetic leader this country has seen since Harding. The Democrats had one house, and not even a simple majority. Six years of pure repulican control and two more of republican majority created this disater. You are a pure idiot, along with ou chifour66
Why are people who support bush are called stupid and blind but all the Obama supports follows him like a drone, He doesn't have any accomplishments yet he hasn't proved anything yet, besides becoming president, I also don't understand why people are so shocked that a black guy is president, Americans aren't as racist as people believe
i like bush, mostly but what he said at 2:00, he should go back and listen to it now. He's trying to rush a peace agreement before he leaves office...just like his predecessor.
"the technology is not available..." Yeah, maybe you should HAVE INVESTED IN RESEARCH OF THE ALTERNATIVE TECHNOLOGY instead of your funny little adventure in Iraq. You costed us and the whole world 8 years of progress, somehow I can't really laugh about that. :-(
??? He dropped the unemployment rate Clinton had which was 6 down to 4.4% It wasn't easy inheriting a mild recession from the Clinton era. And then 9/11 hit and that had further economic distress. Because of the Bush tax-cuts, the DowJones industrial average, productivity, wages, manufacturing employment all sky-rocketed. It wasn't even until the Democrats took over congress that people started losing their jobs and the economic crisis began.
"We've gotta help make the world more peaceful." Holy shit...what a fuckin joke. Yeah, the world is much more peaceful since Bush got into office...he is a peace pushing machine, I tell ya!
wow wow!!!!! Isn't it crazy how the things Bush predicted did come true and he really didn't help the economy while he was president. He knew it was going to get worse and it didn. Instead of using billions of dollars on this war we should have been investing money into the technology to come up with a way to not be so dependent on foreign oil. Now 8 years later the republicans still want to drill in Alaska!!!! They just don't get it!!! We need to think about the long term affects!
How many times did he ask Bush throughout the entire interview to verify a Texas or national statistic, and Bush said 'I dont know...' Letterman's strategy of playing dumb works for someone like Bush
Letterman has to play dumb so he doesn't insult Bush. There were probably guidelines for this interview as to what Letterman could and could not discuss. He is bringing up general topics that were relevant for that election and that the average American can understand. By playing dumb he gives Bush the responsiblity to talk about each topic and to explain himself.
Letterman is an uneducated piece of garbage without an opinion is his head that hasn't been placed there by far left loons.
Bush was right before he took office, the sad fact is ANWAR is still not open, pipelines still aren't built, electric automobiles still suck and the Arabs still have us over a barrell.
Off shore drill now, open ANWAR and get refining up.
"you try to put a US solution to the middle-east and its.. not gonna happen. it has to be a solution that both the palestinians and israelis agree too"
"we're founded on fantastic values: respect, tolerance ... we've got to help make the world more peaceful"
"i think we can do a much better job with the environment"
LOL??????? typical two-faced politician... and to think they bitched john kerry soooo much for flip-floping during that campaign... the irony.
Gawd, can't he see beyond his nose? What about the Super Collider project? Beating the Russians in space success was more important that following through with that energy project... talk about wasting money.
"more alternative USES for energy" - well, we're not really short on uses, we're short on sources...someone ought to have explained the difference to him.
Hello Kajawneja; Please check Al Gores youtube videos regarding Iraq and Kerry's. Both these guys were clamping down hard on Bush for doing nothing in Iraq when they knew for sure Saddam had weapons of mass destruction. The only difference here is that they would have gone ot was sooner and not even tried to get a UN mandate.
BTW; HClinton and Biden voted for invasion. Not sure about Obama may be he just voted 'Present' very convenient.
A lot of pressure in the white house (for the president anyway). Pressure from the Kissinger clan... check out connection history... no coincidence about Bush. A big intertwined money making machine... aka U.S. leadership. Lee Wanta, Edison Daminuk.... google these guys and get more info.
Omg wtf y didn't this dickwad run on the policies he's talking about here instead he took our great country and flushed it down the shithole

Islamic extremists are savages that deserve to be hung by their balls, and moderate Muslims, both in the US and in the Middle East, are cowards that don't speak out more against extremists because, at their core, they are of the same faith.
Its absolutely shameful.
toughbutfair32 3 years ago
"Islamic terrorists" like the king of Saudi Arabia are the only reason why our gas prices are not at $10 per gallon, like it is in some European nations. They also are business people who have a lot of political power in the US because of their control of natural resources and their businesses
BUKGYQ 2 years ago
If you have done ANY sort of research into this religion before denouncing it at all, then you would realize that there are plenty of Muslims who are very much against violence and who are ashamed and angry at their fellow Muslims who give them a bad name.

very classy comments by Bush, he wouldn't criticize Clinton. you won't see others do that. He never wanted a war, don't forget he inherited the problems about 9/11. I wish Bush had of been able to drill for oil in ANWAR. Gore is such a douchebag. Bush is a good man, he tried, he did well on somethings, but he also got a ton of crap thrown at him, Gore would have screwed us..
chifour66 3 years ago
VoiceOfModeration 3 years ago 2
Voice, you are an idiot. It was called a bubble caused by the Feds actions, we are paying for it now. Bush is the most pathetic leader this country has seen since Harding. The Democrats had one house, and not even a simple majority. Six years of pure repulican control and two more of republican majority created this disater. You are a pure idiot, along with ou chifour66

Why are people who support bush are called stupid and blind but all the Obama supports follows him like a drone, He doesn't have any accomplishments yet he hasn't proved anything yet, besides becoming president, I also don't understand why people are so shocked that a black guy is president, Americans aren't as racist as people believe
repwin 3 years ago
Sure but he inherited the worst economy ever since the depression and if he does follow through on it he's going to get mad props.

Gee, Letterman, maybe becuase they're, starving, uneducated, poor, and without the luxuries that we take for granted?

i like bush, mostly but what he said at 2:00, he should go back and listen to it now. He's trying to rush a peace agreement before he leaves office...just like his predecessor.

qpwoei282 3 years ago 2
It's easy to nail the gas price problem when you make it happen to begin with.
NeuroManson 3 years ago
wow wow!!!!!

How many times did he ask Bush throughout the entire interview to verify a Texas or national statistic, and Bush said 'I dont know...' Letterman's strategy of playing dumb works for someone like Bush
alsudany30 3 years ago
Letterman has to play dumb so he doesn't insult Bush. There were probably guidelines for this interview as to what Letterman could and could not discuss. He is bringing up general topics that were relevant for that election and that the average American can understand. By playing dumb he gives Bush the responsiblity to talk about each topic and to explain himself.
alsudany30 3 years ago
Letterman is an uneducated piece of garbage without an opinion is his head that hasn't been placed there by far left loons.
Bush was right before he took office, the sad fact is ANWAR is still not open, pipelines still aren't built, electric automobiles still suck and the Arabs still have us over a barrell.
Off shore drill now, open ANWAR and get refining up.

what happened to him he made a lot of sense back then
CALMANY36 3 years ago
He still makes sense. His ideas really haven't changed. It's merely his portrayal as a demon that uninformed people cling to.
In 20 years when politics are out of the equation it will be the first time we can really see what has been happening.

Since George Bush took office, the US Dollar has lost half its value against the Euro while the annual trade deficit doubled.
We cannot afford four more years of Cheney/Bush economics under George W McCain.
Richardgwm 3 years ago
Why has that happened? I have some ideas. Again, check out Lee Wanta arrest, and CitiBank etc.

"we've got to help make the world more peaceful" this is so *** I don't even know what to write.
It is interesting to watch it 8 years later though. Even though it does make me slightly sick.

"more alternative USES for energy" - well, we're not really short on uses, we're short on sources...someone ought to have explained the difference to him.
Kajawenja 3 years ago
Hello Kajawneja; Please check Al Gores youtube videos regarding Iraq and Kerry's. Both these guys were clamping down hard on Bush for doing nothing in Iraq when they knew for sure Saddam had weapons of mass destruction. The only difference here is that they would have gone ot was sooner and not even tried to get a UN mandate.
BTW; HClinton and Biden voted for invasion. Not sure about Obama may be he just voted 'Present' very convenient.
