  • when they were great. Now they SUCK!

  • It seemed that the American Movie Classics did this double-feature format before I got this channel in 1990.

  • @betamax75a When AMC premiered in 1987, they showed double features starting at 3 pm eastern weekdays, and 5 movies starting at 1 pm eastern weekends. There were always at least 2 chances (only 2 on weekends) to catch each film. After a few years, they went 24/7 and added additional hosts to Bob Dorian (Gene Klavan and Nick Clooney the most memorable).

  • I worked as a maintainance engineer at TV-38 in the mid 1980's and during the move across the street.. WOW! That was a long time ago...

  • PRetty good CGI on that TV 38 ID...for some reason it reminds me of the stuff WTBS was using at the time. I always liked CGI animation on film rather than videotape, especially when it blended CGI with traditional effects...

  • The AMC theme at 3:00 sounds like the news theme WROC-TV 8 in Rochester, NY used in the early to mid 1980s.

  • Good god, it really does sound like it. In fact...the part at 3:13 IS the same melody!

  • Yes, I use to work master control (and other positions) at TV38, through October 1988....Remember these clips well....
