@betamax75a When AMC premiered in 1987, they showed double features starting at 3 pm eastern weekdays, and 5 movies starting at 1 pm eastern weekends. There were always at least 2 chances (only 2 on weekends) to catch each film. After a few years, they went 24/7 and added additional hosts to Bob Dorian (Gene Klavan and Nick Clooney the most memorable).
PRetty good CGI on that TV 38 ID...for some reason it reminds me of the stuff WTBS was using at the time. I always liked CGI animation on film rather than videotape, especially when it blended CGI with traditional effects...
when they were great. Now they SUCK!

It seemed that the American Movie Classics did this double-feature format before I got this channel in 1990.

The AMC theme at 3:00 sounds like the news theme WROC-TV 8 in Rochester, NY used in the early to mid 1980s.

Good god, it really does sound like it. In fact...the part at 3:13 IS the same melody!
