    Very good!

  • why i don't have ink pan?

  • @DarrenFlood1995 On the contrary, IMO Photoshop Is easier, but for me everything looks clearer and less sketchy on SAI. In other words, unless you have the money, don't pirate PS and risk it, just get SAI, it's pretty much equal to PS

  • @Zulychan29 Thank ya sooooo much! X3

  • what program did you use? where do i go to have the function?

  • This is Paint tool SAI

  • nice tut. i have a question. how do u get the curve and line on your sai

  • simple..

u have to create vector layer..

just click "new linework layer" icon

  • my linework tools label is unreadable. I don't know which is which. Which one the "edit" tool, which one is the "curve", etc. Do you know how to fix that? The normal layer tools are fine. Only the linework tools.

  • You have to make sure that the layer you are drawing your lines on are on a "Linework Layer", which is the layer option that has the pen at the top of the layer box-thingy. Then it will have curve/line options :D

  • hit the button to the right of the layer button

  • Wow that looks like it could b areal naruto character lol good job

  • aww, thank you^.^

  • Awesome!! =D

  • Gaaaahhh!~

When i use the magic wand it select the whole area.. TT^TT

    -What should i do? D';

    ( Awsome drawing btw ! <3 ^o^ )

  • same here! i need it to work!

  • @DeathL0ve666 wen you press the selection tool you should get some options like: precise, rough or colour difference, you can try setting it to the bullot point to colour difference and take the bar down to 45, and canvas

  • @animallover5227523

    Thank you! :)

  • @DeathL0ve666 Go to the options with the little circles next to them and click the one that says Canvas and adjust the color difference (about the blue bar) as you select. If that doesn't work Idk. XD

  • @KawaiiKittenx3 *the color difference option is above the blue bar. Typos. @_@

  • @DeathL0ve666 Oh nm,I scrolled down and saw the question was answered. XD

  • @KawaiiKittenx3

I need all the help i can get! :D So, thank you! :3

    XP

  • @DeathL0ve666 Yw. :3

  • @DeathL0ve666 it only selects the whole area if you haven't drawn the lineart within the same SAI canvas. If you say copy it from somewhere else or open it from a different picture, it won't work.

  • @DeathL0ve666 ...ok this is wut u do.... when u click on the magic wand tool u will see somethin that says "selection mode" under that change it to "colour difference" and slide the bar underneath that to zero....this should make it so u select the area thats in the lines only.... i hope that this helped.... (^-^)

  • @scholz1992 I don't have that, mine says detection mode and underneath it is transparecy (strict), transparecy (fuzzy) and color difference . . . can you help me?

  • @DeathL0ve666 Simply lower the color difference thing c:

  • @DeathL0ve666 Um.. I have Sai in Spanish but it has to be the same. Ok

Select the Magic Wand ----> In the menu it Appears options for the Magic Wand...

I think it says Detection something --->. Select the 3rd Option.

Then in the One that's under a bar ---> Select the 3rd option and ;Click on the last option it appears.

  • @DeathL0ve666 Magic Wand ----> Options: Choose the 3rd Option of the menu Up the bar, Options menu Down the Bar--------> 3rd Option. ^^ My Computer is in Spanish that might help.

  • cool i always find the picyures prettier when drawn not that it was not pretty before XD

  • You are such a nice person to make this! Thank you soooo much! ^^

  • aww, no prob....I'm just happy to help^.^

  • Arigato! this helps a lot! ^^

  • mines doesnt work >=(

i did wat u did for the magic wand but it still doesnt work!

i selected all layer tew and it used to work but nao........

  • does the wand work if you used a tablet to draw on it?

  • I would think so but since I did all this with my mouse, I can't say for sure^^;

  • lol ok. i still use the mouse for when i wanna ink a picture thats already drawn in real life XP

  • yea, thats what I do...I draw it on paper, scan it and then do the lineart and coloring on the computer....but its hard for me to answer a lot of the questions about SAI anymore since I use photoshop now and haven't use SAI in so long^^;

  • ya i do that more cause i just got my tablet and i cant use it at school anyway XD

    lol ok

  • @HieisWolfGirl17 Is photoshop better and way harder?

  • Thank you so much...

I learned to lineart AND color in sai beacuse of you.... You don't know that, but you made my day about 1 00000000000 times better...

    Thank you SO MUCH...

You deserve a nobel prize =))))

    99999 / 5

  • aww, its not a problem at all...its why I made this vid in the first place^.^

  • The select wand doesnt work for me. D:

Whenever I select like a hair it selects the whole picture. D:

  • when i use the magic wand on the vector layer after putting a layer under it like you said, i try to highlight it but it highlights the whole page instead of the section I want to highlight...o.o hows do i do what u did without making that mistake?

  • yea i get the same problem :c

sum1 pls answer this im also interested to know

  • I actually figured it out. If your scanning one of your drawings and tracing it over you have to make a "linework" layer and re-do the lines there. then, with a normal layer you do the coloring, but, you must use the magic wand to highlight on the linework layer NOT the normal layer. to color in you just bucket it in on the color layer

  • I kinda did figure it out too lol

Accidentally found it, but thanks anyways :)

  • you have to make sure youre doing it on the lineart layer.

  • Okay, make sure you have the vector layer selected. Use the magic wand. if it highlights the whole page, look to your magic wand detection mode.

I'm not a pro at this.

but I use color difference. Set the color difference down, maybe around 50 or something.

Let me know if it works

  • some1 told meh that ^^ lolz thank you. and it does work* huggles* thank you

  • Uh..What is the vector layer used for? I'm new with SAI

  • It's like the layer where you draw the lines and stuff and regular layers are where you color

  • Vector layer is for lineart. Basically, if you use the lines, you can tinker with it and make curves and stuff by adding dots. so, you basically form drawings using those lines and placing dots here and there to the lines...

    sorry if I'm vague. xD

  • How do you make the blue fall in so prefectly with each part of the drawing. what is a vector layer. The blue sometimes covers the whole picture. explain step by step.

  • What color was for the skin?? i cant find it lol

  • ok um i pushed the unlock or lock it on witch layer??? i cant seem to shad

  • act this is driveing me crazy!!! that many layers to color one thing wow

  • when u finish addin the magic wand to a layer, how do u start a newwand to color something else but a different color?

  • when im using the magic wand it just makes the whole pic blue. idk how to fix it. & there are no gaps or missing lines in the drawing? do u know what i should do?

  • did you do your lineart on a vector layer?

as if you did it on a normal layer you won't be able to select areas, the whole picture will be selected

  • whats a vector layer??

How do u get to that??

  • a vector layer is the icon next to the layer icon

  • D: i have the same problem! but i just outlined it with the select pen then used the wand to fill it in then it worked

  • I can't use line pressure tool with bamboo wacom. it works with mouse only. Please help!

  • Really, I have a bamboo wacom too and I have the same problem every now and then. I usually just keep unplugging and re-plugging until the pen works right....And when it does I've learned it's best not to unplug it.. Try that. It's simple trial and error

  • I have noticed that If I adjust the" tip feel" of the stylus to the softest possible setting, it works. But if it doesn't, I'll try your approach. Thank you.

  • is there a line tool? but great picture!

  • Whenever I use the wand, my whole entire pic turns blue, why is this?

  • use the wand on the lineart's layer. If you use it on a layer that has nothing on it the wand would select how much it could find,if it;s not delimited by a closed line.

  • Ok, thanks. ^^

  • umm when i try to fill in the color it like goes over the lines

    lolz im stupid

    can you help

  • where can i get this software?

  • google it XD you get a free trial XD lol

  • Ty this video was like awsomo =]

  • No mather what i trie the whole screen goes blue!

HOW THE HELL U FIX THAT!

  • wen i use the wand in the line art layer the whole page still goes blue and i tried to use the curve line

  • Yay! Thanks ^^

  • does paint tool sai cost anything?like money wise? or do you just download it?

  • yea it does...but you can download a free trail...that's what I was using here....

  • When I use the magic wand it turns the who page blue. How do I get one area and how do I use it?

  • are you using it on the lineart layer? if you don't use the magic wand on the lineart layer it will do that....

  • my free trial is over :c

  • I know this is kinda a stupid question, but does the background layer (for coloring in easier) go at the very bottom? x.x;

And what mode is it? Normal? o-o

  • yea it goes on the bottom and its just in normal mode...also do the background on more then just one layer...it will be messy if you work on just one layer...

  • If I were to draw a picture and give it to you, would you be able to color it for me?

  • yea, its no prob for me at all^.^

  • Sweet! So I might like...If I draw anything I might ask you to color it in for me ^^ Would it be okay if I told you what colors I wanted?

  • Yay that would be fine

  • i finally found a tutorial that can actually help me :D

    thx for making this ^_^

  • thanks^.^

  • when I colored the selected area

    the color covers the line!!

Have I to convert the lines in artlines or what??

I just copied the finished vector layer draw

and put it into a new layer.

  • Make sure the lineart layer is above the colour layers =)

And use a separate layer per part (like a layer for the hair, another for the skin...)

Also if your lineart has a white background instead of transparency set it to "multiply" instead of "normal" =D and make sure it's on top of the colour layers!

  • When I use the magic wand it turns the who page blue. How do I get one area and how do I use it?

  • I'm good with the coloring... how do you do the lineart like that?

  • I've got a vid on lineart too...if you go to my profile you will find it...I hope it helps you^.^

  • um, but what do you mean by opacity lock?

  • ive been on youtube all day watching unhelpful tutorials!! thanks for actually making yours simple and easy to follow! ^-^

  • i have never seen thate girl in Naruto and i have seen evry singel episode to shippuden episode 86 since we muste waite now ... : /

  • perhaps its her own character?

  • i can't find my LINE and CURVE button!! plx help!

  • do the like, add new line [something] layer, yeah. then u will find it.

  • o and also, how did you do the background?

  • why is it easier to make a layer for every different color. i mean, how does it help with the painting?

also, is it possible to combine two canvas together?

  • If you paint all in the same layer, if you make the tiniest mistake you have to correct all the parts that you screwed up with the colouring. If you use different layers and you go out the lines you just have to delete the part that's not correct instead of having to fix everything.

So having separate layers makes it easier to keep your colouring process not messy and easy to work with.

  • yep, that's right! ^__^ (just like in photoshop ;) )

  • Kawaii ^__________^

  • okay, i don't get the layering thing and when i use the magic wand it selects the whole thing....

  • It selects the whole thing if you aren't trying to make the selection on the lineart layer. After doing that, go to the other layer to color.

  • Whoa nice work!:D

  • you gotta put the skin/hair/eyes etc layer on MULTIPLY for it to not go over the lines.

  • actually if you just put the layers under the lineart you don't have to do that...

  • :( it doesnt work on mine...

  • were did you get the software

  • ack DX i try this over and over but when i use the majic wand it does the WHOLE picture o_e

  • are you going up to the lineart and selecting that?

  • i have a question T^T i have the program but i hate the selecting part* i use that magic tool thing just like you but a couple of black lines dissapear* are getting selected too* and they dissapear after i use the bucket to colour it * how did you do that?

  • are you putting the colors on new layers and/or under the lineart...if you put the colors on the same layer as the lineart or over the lineart the lines will get covered up...

  • yup i did that but it's not working.. damn thing xD and i also don't get the basic colour thingy part xD

  • I'm not really sure then what is wrong with it...I just got the thing myself and I'm still learning...I was able to learn as much as I did cause I've always had some kind of photoshop(which is where I usually color)...

uh...what don't you get about it?

  • wow cool!!

thnx this is really helpful ^_^

my first pic done in this programme will be up soon
