Im thinking this was actually being very mean. It appears that the little guy was scared to death and was trying to "scare" of a predator. That was cruel to keeping filming at such a close distance. He was clearly not a happy camper. .

@HeroMaryah - taking care of any baby bird is not easy, they need to be fed constantly. now consider that many cockatoos can be the most difficult birds to keep, especially umbrellas. imagine that baby much bigger and much louder until it gets what it wants which is usually attention. i hope you know what you would be getting into, for the birds sake and yours. they can be very funny and have more personality than many species but they are not for everyone and need constant interacti

NO if u dunno how. i have hard times raising my first cockatoo.. where i dunno what to feed them.. they seem to cry and cry even when they are full. then raising my second one seems easy. one tip, cockatoo will keep quite when it is dark or when there is no one around. both of em kept quite and it is easy to take care of. :)

When my E2 was about 5 months old, he did that all the time. Every time he saw me he made that noise, and as soon as he could't see me, he screamed (and I had NOT encouraged screaming in any way).

Why did he do this? Because he was a baby cockatoo weaned all too soon, at just 3 months! Cockatoos and other large parrots are NOT ready to be weaned at just 3-5 months of age.

Large cockatoos and macaws should be with their parents for at least 12 months. Stop breeding and especially hand-feeding!
