  • i wish for you guy too...so my BOOBOO come back home to me n his boy...i miss him n he just deport bout 4month ago...:(:(

  • Much respects for standing up

  • Hi studio revolt, i was at your SOTA talk and i really love what you guys are doing. Although i am not american, it really highlights the problem of immigration and how a country like america which is supposed to be forgiving chooses to punish people the rest of their lives due to wrong decisions made when they were young. My friends and i have voted for your video and we hope you will win :D Hope you will come back to singapore, we wanted to take a picture with you but were too scared :P

  • @rosariovampireslayer Thank you so much. SOTA is an amazing school and we're looking forward to seeing all your young talents blossom in the near future. Keep making art. Keep asking questions. Keep learning!!

  • This is a touching video.

  • I love this video!! I am an exiled American and I CAN'T go home!! I hope this video takes you guys to the White House and let our voices be heard!!

  • @PheaG316 Thanks for your support. We are also making a compilation video of the exiled voices right now. If you're interested in talking about your story on camera please contact us via e-mail: info[at]studio-revolt[dot]com. We want to take your message to the White House if/when we get invited.

  • This is sad , brought tears to my eyes. My brother got deported in Jan 2012 , i wish he can come back home to us. Our family isn't the same anymore, but i am happy u guys made this video. I love it! Stay strong & keep your head up Hopefully, a miracle happens! :)

  • @srang89 Thanks, Srang89. All deportations happen without legal review currently. We want the court to look at each case of deportation as seriously as a life sentence, because deportation is a life sentence. We believe that is a change that can and should be implemented in the near future. Another thing is a request for visitation rights/visas for the exiles. Short of miracle, these can happen. So let's make it happen.

  • YA'LL STUPID PEOPLE DESERVE TO GET DEPORTED. I NEVER GET DEPORTED CAUSE I DIDN'T DO CRIME LIKE YA IDIOTS!

  • @ShutUpDamYou Some people get deported without doing crimes. Some U.S. citizens who accidentally get deported because of errors in the U.S. database.

I would ask you to consider the family situation and reasons why they are in America. After years of Secret American Bombing of Cambodia, suffering genocide at the hands of Khmer Rouge, escaping to live in refugee camps and then transplanted to the roughest neighborhoods in America. Where's the Justice? Who was sent to jail for Bombing Cambodia?

  • what a great video - and at the same time, what a great opportunity KEAs have to participate in the post-genocide reconciliation and peacebuilding process to be had in Cambodia! my friend Karen shared with me your project and i voted for your video =) God bless

  • Great Video

  • I hope you can make it home one day.

  • I hope you can make it home one day.

  • A really well-done video--loved it when they talked about memories of home.

  • @pumpkintrain2125 Thanks, Ms. Wong. If/When we meet in D.C., let's talk about food!!

  • No offense, I feel you, but this is home now, brothers and sisters. Peace and Love. Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

  • @csimarron Thanks for the comment. And you're absolutely right. As a matter of fact, the K.E.A.s in the video have all accepted the turn of events whole heartedly, and are busy building their future in Cambodia now. They know this is their home. But we, the filmmakers, asked them to revisit some sentiments they set aside long time ago to make this video. The guys gracefully taken in our requests and delivered what you see here. We are indebted to their courage for the success of this video.

  • @studiorevolt, unfortunate as it is and seems, Kampuchea needs you! And your education, and your understanding, and your stance on combating corruption in the system... I hope you'll be able to use what you have learned and brought back with you, to make your new home more like your old. I've lived and worked in KH, for many years now, and hope to see more help from the inside out, fixing what's still recovering from hundreds of years of some of the worst history on the planet...

  • did they say they can go home or they can't go home? and isn't vinh dao a vietnamese american?

  • @immaprince92

why does it matter? obviously you haven't been around a lot of cambodians. a lot of cambodians are mixed. i've met a lot of cambodians that are part viet or chinese. or they are full chinese or vietnamese but was born and rasied in Cambodia. Cambodia is a melting pot just like the US. I am part chinese and khmer myself. Some of my family have khmer name and some have chinese name. but we all speak Khmer and eat Khmer food. We are all from srok khmer.

  • i love the standpoint of this video but its only eastern Asians no Indians and we all know Arabs are getting "exiled".

  • @TheTeamExRe yes you are right - "the exiles" include Arab Americans as well especially in this post 9/11 world. This specific video features not "eastern Asians" but the story of how deportation effects a group of Cambodian Americans. we hope to create solidarity with other communities suffering from unfair deportations as well.

  • there were two vietnamese guys ? are they mixed with cambodian or something ?

  • @gangvn123 All featured cast live in Cambodia. Vietnamese or Khmer - both communities are effected by deportations. And in this video, there is one Vietnamese American.

  • Great video. Great message. Love it.

  • Props! C!!!!!

  • EVERY1 SPREAD THIS VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LET'S BE HEARD!

I can watch this vid FOREVER! Most touching vid I have seen for so long. I love u!Crying my eyeballs out!

  • this video brought tears to my eyes to know how messed up america is, lets make our voices heard and STOP DEPORTATION !

  • @orsonzg - half the people in this video "CAN" go home. the other half "CAN'T" go home.

  • 2:19 she said she CAN go home.... wtf...

  • @orsonzg she said can't, cause her accent

  • @nflplayerad1 the woman "can go home."

  • @orsonzg She is an American, born and raised probably. Some of the others might not have been born there, but American is all they knew. They might have fled when they were little.

  • Damn this is so inspiring, as a filmmaker and an Asian American. Especially since I learned a lot about this at school and saw Spencer Nakasako's documentaries about Cambodian refugees.

  • @lilaznballaz1022 thank you so much!

  • THERE YOU GO UNCLE KOSAL!

  • I love that feeling of nostalgia that resonates throughout the short.

  • Inspiring! Thanks for sharing! Love it!

  • great great video!

  • i really appreciate how much of a loving vignette it is -- of daily life, of struggling to get by, of sublime memories. yet you don't know who is exiled or ex-pat until the end. oh the sadness i felt for those who couldn't return. the film is very effective and poetic and powerful and profound. thank you!! ♥
