For novice guitar players like myself, here's an easy way to play this...Capo 4: F,C,F,C,Am,Em,G,G. It's a lot easier to play than it is to sing, but as a general rule you should start each new line of "hold on..." half way through the second F chord. Something like this - F, C, F (Hold...)C(...on, Mag...)Am(...no-o-li...)Em (...a...)G(..,to that great highway...) F (...moon...)
