  • Damn you Salman Khan, I have been procrasting to watch your videos, and solve your practices. Too addictive. ;_;

  • he have the .com address!

  • I love how he wants to make sure that its free for the world its like he really cares about the students he never even met, wow sal gives me back the hope in humanity

  • Looks like the .com is in the right hands now :)

  • they should totally make a movie about khan academy.

  • boring? why are you interviewing if you are going to interrupt with boring?

  • Go straight to 1:33 to skip that useless ad

  • “In the world I live, I see people working more than they really should, to earn more money than they really need, to buy things they don't really want, to impress people they don't really like.” Sal you are really an inspiration.!!!

  • WE NEED THIS FOR NURSING EDUCATION

    AND

    MEDICAL SCHOOL EDUCATION

IT IS BETTER BECAUSE IT IS NOT TOO FORMAL OR PACKAGED.

    IT IS LIKE A CONVERSATION!!!!

  • Has anyone started an online petition to award Sal the Nobel prize?

  • The mixergy.com guy is obnoxious.

  • You keep saying maybe your son can learn off your videos... WHEN HE'S 18. WTF Sal, I'd say a lot sooner. Wasn't Nadia in Calculus in 9th grade? BTW, tell Nadia to become a technical writer, instead of a journalist. Most people don't have the math/science/tech skills to do it so it's less competitive, more stable and pretty decent pay.

  • @Michalbasavraham A very good idea. I have worked in software companies and I have seen them hire Journalist for technical writing.

  • KHAN you should start a forum on your site with different sections dedicated to different subjects. this way people can help each other out, or post links to helpful information that could help someone else learn even more, beyond your videos!!!

  • @lucirz People already do help each other out by asking questions on videos. Although, what you mention might be even better, since I could only help people if I happened to click on the same video, but if there was a discussion board, I could pop over and check it.

  • this is Inspiring, really. in a world where materialism is widespread, this man is able to resist the flow of society and come up with this massive project, hats off to salman khan. thanks man for what you have done :)

  • Absolutely fascinating. Couldn't tear myself away from the interview - only intended to watch the first few minutes to get the flavor. Sal, your genuine enthusiasm is infectious. Let no one build an antidote for it. We all need to catch it and pass it on to our students.

  • This Salman Khan is 10 times cooler than Salman Khan the lame bollywood actor.

  • I am a learning directX and physics programmer, Thanks to Sal its all so easy :D its like he is in my head if i have a math problem :P I really hope he gets the nobel price in the future because he really deserves it, I don't think there is anyone in the world in who has contributed so much to the world, and this is only the beginning ( 2,407 people learning right now ). Greeting from holland!!

  • when i get my bachelor, u can count on a donation from me;)

  • 2 teachers saw this video

  • Mr. Sal

I have an 82 in history

Can you help me in history please.

I have never had anything lower than an 85

U.S History is so boring but

YOU might be able to make it amazing

  • the teachers uion must be angry that khan is offering free education.

the teachers union makes billions but they give poor education.

khan is the best maths teacher

  • nobel prize. nobel prize. nobel prize! nobel prizee!!! don't even thumbs me up. i say you just post the same message until there are 23810238129 comments that say the same thing.

  • Awesome!! Khan totally sounds like Obama! Talks the same, same voice.

  • 2 very good points that sal makes about his videos, First, His humble honest tone cuts thru so much BS that he and the student meld into one.

Second, he makes the point that" because video's are 10min the person goes into that video wanting that video." So true. Everytime a click on a video I am specifical interested in that specific topic, and by the end of the video he'll usually get me curious about a quesiton answered in the following video

  • hi salman ,

, i am an MBA student ,, your videos on finance have helped me clear up a lot of basics ,, thanks a lot ,,

    god bless ,,,

    -kapil

  • Soon they'll be sending your videos in those space probes, heck if that happen, we'd be invaded sooner that you think.

  • Actually for me it was a very different story. With the a trig teacher who thought tricking his students on tests was better than teaching well, I ended up taking trig 2 years in a row. When I went to college I placed back into trig, I got an A because the teacher was fair. I went on to take Calculus 1, 2, 3, and 4 passing them all with A's. Its a shame how some teachers in high school don't care for their students. Now I ended up double majoring into math along with my biochemistry degree.

  • sal is the most impressive and inspiring people on youtube

  • Is this ooVoo?

  • Awesome Video ! Sal RULES !

And, could I please make a request to the Youtube community?

Could anyone (Mr. Andrew Warner or Salman Khan or anyone helping youtuber) please tell/teach me how to screencapture such a web conversation where I the interviewer can record my interviewees as they video chat via webcam?

Plus, I use CAMSTUDIO and the AVI or Divx Codec to screen capture. But, my videos are not in synchronisation with the audio.

Please, please...tell me how to fix this nagging problem !

  • The most profound statement I think I have ever heard...

"for the cost of running a pre-school, we can educate millions of people for all time" (right around 54 minutes in btw)

I think my brain just exploded. This guy should get anything and everything he asks for EVER.

  • @Phaseline1983 He seems to already have what he wants.. helping people.

  • Someone needs to send this man a million dollars already I mean come on, this guy is saving our planet from stupidity. Imagine how many more scientists and engineers there will be if this guy accomplishes his goal.

  • sal thank you.

  • Negative ratings should be disabled for all khanacademy videos because they are obviously lying!

  • I have noticed that his interview, lecture.talk or that sort of video gets more views than the actual tutorials.

  • looks like somebody missed the like button

  • @Aukatrau happens all the time

There is a disliker on all his videos

    I hate that one.

  • so what is this guy trying to say, he should not be teaching?, you need to spend thousands and thousands of dollars to learn or teach? the rich want to hold the poor down, that is how it has always been. sal is my hero.

  • any time u wanna start ur school just let me know :)

  • Salman Khan is the best god bless you

  • 3degrees from MIT and 1 from Harvard?? BEAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 5:21 "What kind of people?"

What the hell kind of question is that? It's the net...what an idiot.

  • This guy keeps bringing up money and asking questions like "what about your wife?...why did you keep helping (the cousin and friends, etc) more than once...I would've just told them to look it up at x." At no point did Sal's responses about his value system sink in (despite nodding). The good karma will pay off. Alumni donate wings to their alma maters. I imagine all the future engineers, businesspeople and other successful folks will remember you. Keep paying it forward Sal. You're the best!

  • yeah this guy helped me with my biology class last semester

  • Salman we love you

  • Yessss, SAL is going to make organic chemistry, cant wait for it !! Im going to have a final exam to enter medicine faculty, I know Sal will help me a lot with organic chem. ;)

hopefully the video will come soon... :

  • I'd want Salman Khan for U S Education Secretary, but I think he wouldn't want to do it and it would mean a less-good Kahn Academy.

Arne Duncan (current US EdSec) needs this guy as a passive advisor.

    Thank goodness for Salman Khan!

  • Thank You! I Think I Finally Understand Now.

  • Does he get any money from youtube by advertising?

  • Sal helped me ace my functions course =D

  • Easily one of the most awesome people on the planet.

A practical, classy intellectual who has been devoting his best years to helping others.

  • the brown ray barone haha

  • @zackboomer OMG YES!!! I was thinking I was the only one who thought that!! He does look a little like Ray Barone LOL

  • if they made a movie of khan academy, Kal Penn can play Sal

  • I watched the interview with Jobs and Gates a few summers ago and Bill said that the technology had finally gotten to the point where it would start to positively impact education. Sal and the Khan Academy must have been what Gates meant.

  • keep it up Sal you rock ! awesome !

  • awesome Sal ! keep it up !

  • fuuucking hell first i was bombarded by the annoying ads and now this mr warner founder of the most ambitious crap of all time kept nodding!! geeezzzz:

  • just awesome ... keep it up !

  • Did he say he is going to Estancia? (Andrew) I wonder if he lives in New Mexico USA

  • Sal without you I would have never cared about math in my life. God bless you man.

  • wow the guy in the beginning is plugging everything like whoa

    lol

i wanted to see the interview not a bunch of ads

  • khan is the epitome of a good man.

  • Lol at scheduled lessons *points at the incompetence at public schools*.

Khan's vision is muddied by todays public teachers or the institution of enforced schooling, which is modeled(most of USA's system of schooling) by the Prussian philosophy that kids(people) must be forced to learned or else they won't do so b/c they naturally wont have the will to do so<---retarded. Techonology and innovation trumps todays instituoins of education, methodologically.

  • If I had a nickel for every time the guy on the left nods, I would hire an assassin to break his neck. Just kidding, but seriously.

  • damn sal has a lot of energy....always

  • This man is just superb!

  • no matter how many times i've heard Sal talk, he's always interesting. Bless you Sal.

  • Watching Sal talk for an hour increases your IQ!

  • yay organic chem =D

  • I wish there was only the right hand side.

  • Start at 1:34 to skip the ads. =D

  • I LOVE this channel. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have a place to go to help me with my math classes when I don't get them.

  • I HAVE HOME SCHOOLED 6 OF MY CHILDREN 4 HAVE GRADUATED THE LAST TWO ARE UTILIZING KHANACADEMY...IT IS AN INVALUABLE TOOL...GOD BLESS U!

  • @bowendude1234 Invaluable: valuable beyond estimation : priceless <providing invaluable assistance>

    Google is your friend!

  • @setboy1 o.O dang... i always thought invaluable meant not valuable... oh well

  • @Rdardenea gosh, no offense but youre depriving your children from living their life, from getting friends! From everything else in life! Home schooled...I feel bad for your children...I PITTY THEM.

  • @juanpjp27 I was home schooled and had plenty of friends.

BTW, pity? Not pitty...unless you're talking about that Brazilian rock singer. :|

  • @juanpjp27 Public school= garbage its more of a baby sitter than an educator

  • @juanpjp27 There are home schooled kids that have lots of friends and great lives and there are those that don't have many friends and might not have much of a "life" as far as you judge a life to be. There are also those kids that go to school their whole lives that have lots of friends and their life might fit into your thinking of what a life is, and there are kids that go to school their whole lives that have no friends and and do nothing but play video games and watch tv. I pitty you......

  • Man, what he said about textbooks! BURN. (Not the textbooks)

  • Amazing!!!

  • I happy for you :)

  • i actually watched all 58mins of this.

  • @tnguyen1508 Me too. Usual attention span 2 mins. (For usual stuff)

  • Sal, great point about asking questions about CORE concepts that many, many advanced degree candidates can't answer!

  • I love salllllllllll! he is such a great guy!!

  • STOP NODDING

  • @alkalait over 30 times in one, minute

  • @alkalait Stop watching the guy on the left. The guy on the right is doing all the talking.

  • exceptional video, especially in terms of "something-like-commercials" ;-)

  • Sal ftw! :D

  • @ reik2006 good subtle reference to Occams Razor.

  • @johntheripper1776 hey thanks for the remark - didn't know that this even got a name ;) learned something new again thanks

  • yay!

  • yay!

  • yay!

  • yay!

  • yay!

  • ftw

  • sal ftw

  • sal ownz. lol

  • Isn't the formfactor of Sals videos kind of the obvious way things boils down to in the world? A lot of money is spent to educate people, a lot of teachers a lot of bureaucracy is needed to keep the education system running and then it's just one smart man taking the time, forgetting about the money and just making those videos ;) ... it's like the discovery of the fundamental theorem of calc. or Euler's identity or E=mc^2. The right solution is often the shortest and simplest one. You rock Sal!

  • @reik2006 with respect to 34:00 in the interview ;)

  • This video is so aspiring. Too bad I don't have the speech skills or knowledge to make such videos.

  • QUDOS to the ones who donate :D

  • mathwars!

  • Anyone notice the fan in Sal's room? I haven't seen those type of fans for so long!

  • Salman = Awesome.

  • I cannot believe that this guy helps so many people :] That is amazing.

  • your videos are very helpful thank you very much.

  • Really awesome
