@withoutmalicexo yes its very interesting video but unfortunately the sound is not good and many words and sentences are difficult to grasp, (something quite common in youtube videos by the way, poor sound quality)
One amongst many of Claude Monet lovers, am deeply appreciative of Prof. Leipzig...the Rouen Cathedral, Water Lilies and other moving paintings perceiving the cyclic reality throughout the day of the skies & bodies of waters & plein-air painting & portraits of Monet's Spouse with the passage of time are all awesome, even if not, like sculpture, three dimensional, but nondimensional expressions of Nature's beauty!
La rappresentazione e l' esaltazione dell' equilibrio tra ombre e luci nell' istante che scorre via. La gioia dei colori della vita, poi uno strano retrogusto amaro. La ricerca della verita' che sfugge.
I loves this video! You may also be interested in my very short video for my novel about Claude in his 20's, CLAUDE AND CAMILLE: A NOVEL OF MONET, published April 6th 2010 by Crown to wonderful reviews.
Monet's paintings of the same scene at different points in time left different impressions --- that is interesting. Thats why sometimes people should re-read books at different times in their life. I think some books, like Catcher in the Rye, can make a different impression depending when you read it, etc.
Dear Monet lovers: I host a fascinating blog called EVERYDAY LIVES OF THE FRENCH IMPRESSIONISTS; google it if you like Monet and the impressionists, as I cannot post the link here!
Monet may have been one of the most consistent in the practice of style and philosophy of Impressionist painting, but he was never leader of the Impressionist movement. Gustave Courbet and Edwouard Manet (his successor) were considered by the impressionists themselves to be the leaders of their group, the avant-garde or radical painters.
That;s wrong Manet refused to join the impressionist's' movement and never took part in an impressonistic exhibition he only participated in the salon de paris which was ironic towards the impressionists and refused to comprehend any of their work.Manet is now considered as an mpressionist but he disguised that charachterization plus he is a processor not successor of Monet.Goustav Courbet was a realist and the only pure impressionists were Monet and Degas.
Looking for a large original Monet DM me for details xo

Also, artists don't have to be obsessive.
