That's not entirely true, a lot of famous hip hop artists stick to their roots. You also have to get with the right producer and manager. I won't lie, I'd sell out for a little while until I got enough money to start my own label. Once you do that, the sky is the limit. Everyone has to make sacrifices, I think the only people that have to sell out are those that don't have skillz. They have to jump on the bandwagon to remain competitive.
