Kelly COULD'VE won, but she keeps on forcing her voice, making it hard for her sing those big notes. Her voice is sucking more and more now. Carrie Underwood (in my opinion) the only American Idol who's really bringing pride to America.

Kurt really had the most memorable and fantastic performance. There's no doubt that he was going to win.

And about nationalism here and Kelly: Kelly Clarkson is a phantastic singer. It was absolutely NO shame for her to be the second winner behind this phantastic Kurt Nilsen, the man with the magic voice. He was a gift for the world. And he still has this magic voice. I'm from the U.K. and I voted for him: he was first in the voting for 10 out of 11 countries according to wikipedia. It goes to show that people can choose quality over image/nationalism/marketing etc. It was a great performance.

It was only in the Pan Arabic vote that Kurt was not first. For some strange odd reason, Alexander Klaus from Germany got the vote from there (I was in Germany when watching this and I was embarrassed to see Alex's performance).

abangel, the name was Alexander Klaws, not Klaus. This boy was horrible (and I am from Germany). However: Kurt Nilsen was the deserved winner of the competition, Kelly Clarkson was the deserved runner-up.

I still like Kelly Clarkson, and she still is well-known outside of America, different from Carrie Underwood who is unknown in Europe. I prefer Carrie, but the singer of all Idols was Kurt Nilsen. I really, really love his voice.

Norwegians who say that he kicked Kelly's ass are idiots. That type of pride/nationalism, in addition to the critical judges, is why we haven't had a "World Idol" since. I'm an American and I LOVED Kurt Nilsen enough to look him up X years later. He deserved to be the World Idol that night.

I think he did well, he was worth it all and the best part is that he kicked that KELLY which i think uses her body to make more votes, so great to se Kelly lose, and so great seeing Kurt win cause hes norwegian and im too ^^

I think it would've been a real treat to pit them against each other for a couple of weeks, like eliminate groups of idols each week until they're down to the final 2 who go face to face, then maybe Guy, Kelly, Alex, and Heinz would've stood a better chance.
