  • i have a solution to all your problems with this phone - android. Simple huh?

  • how to make the blackberry work faster... close apps you're not using. By the way, the button every other phone uses to close apps, actually doesn't close them.

    jesus...this is stupid.

  • blackberry touch screen devices need a lot of research and help...storm and other touch screen phones from BB are very poor quality. my brother have a storm 9530...and he feels like wanna throw it in gutter.

  • Thanks! It's a big help.

  • yeah man no problem.

  • steups

  • yea u might wanna change the word "SALUTATION" in ur description...

ur suggestions were of great assistance though

  • Os 5.0.0.230 will fix everything. super duper fast...guarantee you that! its coming out soon guys so watch out for it.

  • Yup works like a charm

  • i have a storm and all i have like 7 downloaded apps and i can only have like 3 more before the app memorys full. also i have to restart my phone on a regular basis becuz it gets slow after time and i always close apps the right way. i also cant download updates until i basically wipe out all the memory on my phone. so i basically have a corrupt blackberry for no reason. does anyone know a way to fix this besides buying a new one

  • @shuturdirtymouth try running it off your memory car.

  • Thanks man it does make it more faster with those techniques

  • update OS 4.7.0.151 and problems solved

  • I have the OS 4.7.0.148- when I check for updates nothing comes up. Where did you get the 151?

  • well now there is the 4.7.0.167! its awsome workets super fast and has great features..... its a leaked version but i assure u ive found no bugs yet... got to crackberry and download it

  • I'm still new - will I lose any apps that I paid for if I pull out the battery and do a clean re-start?

  • no, dont worry about that. ull be fine

  • wow this actually reinstilled some faith in actually wanting to purchase this phone! lol thanks!

  • @cetrammell lol no problem man. i thought the same thing when i got my phone

  • update to the 4.7.0.148 and it runs alot faster. even the camara works better.

  • the best thing i've learned about the storm so far! thanks man! it's just like the apps on macbook. i guess you just have to treat this like a laptop basically.

  • yea dude no problem,

  • lol... there is an even better way to speed up the blackberry storm... update your system firmware to a new beta.... i am using OS 4.7.0.132 i used to be using 4.7.0.76 ... very slow ..got it from Bell anyone needing instructions msg me.. i have not had a problem with storms speed since this

  • Damn thanks a lot man, this fixed my storm completeley. I had like 30 apps running and didn't even know. Your a fuckin genius.

  • yea dude no problem, thanks for the comment. same thing happened to me and i got pissed and wanted to throw it out the window lol.

  • Regarding the typing i guess surepress is a new thing and people just need to get used to it. One of the guys here in local store complained abt the phone gettting heated up due to metal casing. anything on that??? thanks

  • Buy an iPhone.

  • you can't for verizon

  • My point exactly. AT&T :)

  • lol. my parents pay for it so I can't switch. but i'm not complaining! lol

  • Thanks this actually does fix my problems, however where can i get the youtube app, and any other apps besides blackberryworld apps

  • Read the manual.... if you press the back button, it closes the app...the end call button simply minimizes it....after a while, this will slow your device down....just use the back button to end an app

  • Jep iphone looks bit kiddy XD Blackberry will come with better firmware upgrades and we'll see, Its a newer mobile then the iphone so ofcourse not everything will be perfect at first., but then again The blackberry storm looks so much better, Inside and outside.

  • what ur supssoed to do is when your done with an app hit blackberry button and hit close

  • you can do that or hold down the back button and or hit the back button.

  • you re an idiot.

the storm is slow, try going into contacts with no applications running in the background and you ll see. it takes 1 sec to run the browser, 1 sec to veiw the call log, sometimes several seconds to pop up the menu and when you are tyoing the words some up a few seconds after you typed them...

  • this is an amazing phone

people will get used to it

  • i didnt know the storm was like that. just one more reason i dont like it. my problem with the storm is it feels like junk, looks fat, that gay button thing, slow, lack of apps, no wifi, tethering sucks, and no i see the interface is junk too. iphone 3g kills this and if you got it jb or have 3.0 on it, its overkill lol.

  • I look at it this way - the iphone is more an device for my children. Because it looks so fashionable and they cal play all their games and music on it. But as a grown up you might prever a serious reliable device with a range of business solutions and for this blackberry is my choice. Even if its a bit slower.

  • really. lets see, i got cut copy and paste, mms, tethering, full web browser, etc.

so tell me what bbs has on iphone... a button that actually slows down txting and email cause it only picks up when you press it in.

i see it this way. get a phone that does it all, thats including games, average users, power users, and the business use (which the iphone does flawlessly with the 3.0 but still does really good on 2.2.1). give a good reason why the bbs is better, if you can. i named a short list.

  • At first: Shuretype and the full qwertz are not slow at all.

And second - the storm is capable of all the things you listed including pushmail and active sync with outlook WITHOUT installing itunes on comapny machines - which brings me to third:

I know noone running a serious business who would store important information on his iphone or transfere it via itunes. Except apple itself of cause.

  • well youre right and your wrong. for most ppl itunes is the most used source but their are other ways. i could list a few but theirs no point besides proving a point. as for business use, my uncle is owner of a multi bill yr company. his weekly payroll for all the employees is almost 1 mil. and guess what phone he uses... iphone. he hasta use it cause of a few apps that you can get for BUSINESS USERS!!! bb isnt the only business phone... your close minded and thats all their is to it.

  • the bbs has a better netwoork. a much better network. That's the only reason you need.

  • nice im gettn mine 2morrow

  • right on dude, totally worth it. hopefully they come out with more and better games for it.

  • INRRITATIIN 2 WATCH!!!!

  • They've recently come out with an app that does this with one button, and you can even schedule it to do so automatically. Its called Quickpull and its a free program for the storm. People don't realize that almost every smartphone does this nowadays, you really don't want your browser closing completely just so you can check a text, but you can select menu to close it also and it completely shuts down the process as far as I'm aware.

  • ill have to try it out. sounds like a genus idea! thanks for the comment.

  • An easier way to find what is still running is to hit the blackberry button twice from the main screen then select switch application. The list of applications running will pop up then go through them and close them individually.

  • Did not know that, thank you very much for your information. Thank you for the comment

  • Even more efficient is holding the blackberry button down. This automatically opens the "switch application" dialog. A lot faster.

  • if you hold the Blackberry button for 1-2 seconds your running apps will come up. no need to do this from the menu

  • This is very good to know! The verizon lady told me about this. It's why the store's phones run slow. People playing with them all the time and not closing the apps. So they get the wrong idea about the phone's speed. I close my apps too and the phone is phenomenal. I agree the bad reviews are usually old ones with the old OS and the reviewer not having enough experience with the Storm. This is the best phone I've ever had! Thank you for this video. Very informative and a need to know.

  • My friend told me the phone had a slow response and very very slow at texting so i went to the store to see for my self. I played with it for about 10 minutes and almost thought about not getting it but glad i did. it's a chick magnet lol. Thank you for the comment.

  • Thanks for the post . I have been checking many reviews as I am intending to buy a BB. I m interested in storm but most of the review was quite negative. The review about slowness. I am not taking anything away from you. I saw few reviews and the they were slow. I just came across 1 post by Mobileburn where it was faster and I thought ahhh maybe due to reviews people have opened too many apps and hence the slowness thanks

  • Programs hiding and not closing is a typical microsoft OS...u would think Blackberry realized this issue but guess they didnt test their product....

  • yea no joke, to tell you the truth i was about to take the phone back lol it was that bad, slow response slow getting into the programs and even Turing the phone side ways was bad but glad i didn't because the phone is great and i love it.

  • For those that don't understand its NOT AN ISSUE, its there for a reason. when you are using an application and need to do something else for a second your app stays running so it saves time not having to go back wait for the app to load and find where you were in the application its called windows for a reason wouldn't you love having to restart an app on your computer every time you did something else? NO! why would I want to on my Phone? Its a feature not a flaw!

  • IF you update the phone it will speed it up like nos on a ricer... I got it sunday and updated it on Tuesday and it has been a very rocket like phone

  • Hey how much was this, did you get a plan? Was it worth it?

  • it was 200$ for the phone and 30 for the blackberry fee every month but yes, way worth it. my favorite phone out of all the phone's i had. i would recommend it. and im with a family plan 750 mins for 60. good service and customer service always.

  • like they said above.

Hold the blackberry button for 5 seconds and the running programs will come up.

Go to each individule program and click on close.

    Booyah. iT closes.

Sorry if this makes your video totally moot.

  • hey, thanks for the information, i really appreciate it.

nope no problem, moot is a good word lol never herd of it. just looked it up.

  • when you are one the browser you can press and hold the back button and it will close it

  • thank you for the information. now there's any easier way lol yay.

  • did i hear wrong or did you say that you had a YouTube app. If so where did you get it

  • i try to update but i says i need more memory

but i have 878 left and 6.1 bg so help plzzz

    nice video

  • did you try it threw the blackberry desktop software. it's the cd that came with your blackberry.

  • so can do you always have to push the black button other than the end.

also on the internet when you push the end button do the pages still be loading up

  • yea when in a program or application hit the back button or blackberry button scroll down to close.

now on the internet if you go threw 6 or more pages inside of hitting the back button and going back threw that pages to close the internet hit the blackberry button scroll down and hit close. and that well close the browser completely.
