What is it that these stuck up, filthy rich studio don't get about the fact that they are alienating the people?
One thing is for sure in all this, the coprorate moguls are, as a whole, a completely schyzophrenic entity. Some kind of a salesman who'd go with the " Hey you! ...Look at me when I'm talking to you worm! What the !? You better look down when I look at you! Look at me when I address you bitch! Lower your fucking eyes when I am looking at..." routine.
that scary as hell i swear to god when i got on here i made a point to look for needle in the hay and right after i would look for free bird its weird how i found needle in the hey and ur talkin about free bird in the comments
I dont get it, you didnt just take the "dramatic music away" but the dialog as well. I agree with the other comment, you should just take this down and not waste anyone elses search.
If I knew someone working with the RIAA I'd probably despise them to the point of kneeing them in the nuts every time I see them. But they're dark, evil creatures who stay out of the light
Jesus titty fucking Christ, did you faggots even read the description? "Ruin a movie scene by replacing dramatic music, changing the sound effects, or anything else."
He ruined the scene on purpose, you fucking twats.
@Strommunism No he didn't. He put the scene to the song "Free Bird". The vid violates some type of copyright, so the sound was disabled (not by the uploader).
it's really funny how pissed people are getting, this is one of my favorite scenes in the movie. doooooob is probably someone who felt like messing around with a movie editor program, chill out everyone
well, the up-loader was trying to ruin the scene so...idk, maybe he did a good job? I mean really, read the description before getting up on your high horse and critiquing away haphazardly.
this is not bad. I mean, put aside the fact that it is a little insulting considering how incredibly the original scene is, but as far as how this was edited to fit the scene, it's not terribly. Hell, it's not bad. It's not GOOD either, but it doesn't stray completely outside the madness and rush of emotions evoked when watching the part where he cuts his wrists, let alone the act itself. I think if this weren't such a serious scene, I would feel more comfortable noticing the comedy of this.
You know that a director does a lot more than just pick the music in the scene. Zemeckis had he made this movie, shot this scene, and used Freebird, he would have shot it completely different so that the music matched the scene. If you were attempting to say something with this video and I missed your point, I'm sorry. Please enlighten me with the purpose of this video.
I d believe this is just a joke, a simple parody of sorts. Its in the title "IF", it doesn't ruin the scene, it just changes the feel with the song, showing how IT CAN BE different. I really liked the Royal Tennenbaum's, and i still really like the Elliot Smith song over this scene, I'm just feeling like some people think this scene is SO SACRED and holy that it CANNOT be touched, lighten up?

Zemekis is far better than Wes Anderson. Somebody commented "I like his movies, but Zemekis is a hack".
What kind of stupid comment is that? If you like his films, how can you call him a hack?
Just because he doesn't have a blatant, over-the top, "auteur" style of Wes Anderson?
Wes Anderson style is often style for the sake of style. His stories often lack conflict for much of the film, and people eat it up because it's counter-conventional.
Back to the Future Forrest Gump Who Framed Roger Rabit
i get the video, but why say bob zemeckis? did he use this song? or was he just an example of a director diretcor who wouldnt be able to get a dramatic scene right?
i wish that wasn't true, but that happens. Zemeckis is good, but shit like this happens a lot in his movies, it makes me uncomfortable. but sometimes the irony of it can play as foreshadowing. sort of like at the beginning of King Kong, when it shows all of the poor people in New York playing, "Im sittin on top of the world." that was fun. (sorry, went off on a tanget there.)
Okay to all the confused here the point here is to ruin the scene. 'Free Bird' doesn't fit with the pacing and in connection to this scene is hits you over the head with its overly literal connection to Richie leaving this world and his bird Mordecai who he sets free (it is also simply a terrible song). The implication is that Zemeckis, being a terrible director, would have chosen such a piece and ruined the scene.

Well, it´s certainly intense enough, but maybe it doesn´t fit with the theme f the scene. Needle in the Hay is more quiet, so it goes. But in reality. the two songs on their own.... Freebird is a much better song than piece of shit Needle in the Hay.
Robert Zemekis sucks! The Good: Forrest Gump Cast Away The Bad: The Polar Express What Lies Beneath Romancing the Stone The Ugly: Beowulf Back to the Futer 2 and 3
yeah thats bollocks. Back to the Future is an immense trilogy from start to finish. And personally i liked what lies beneath (albeit mostly due to michelle pfieffer's sexiness) and Romacing the Stone is good for what it is.
I keep drifting back to this video you've made. Because it makes me laugh until it hurts like hell, and if I happen to be drinking something, it jets out both of nostrils. I can't stay away. Why am I so self-destructive?
I like the song choice, and I understand that he is becoming as free as a bird; I just think the director had a different direction in mind and this changes the mood too much, staying from the drama.
This doesn't work. I'm sorry. Maybe its just the fac that I love the original so much, but this just doesn't cut it. to coin the phrase you used in your description, "Ruin a movie..."
i love this song. it didnt flow well at all in the beginning. the scene was choppy? ya know what i mean? the song is flowly its self so it didnt go very well. but at the end was perfect!

nah, it's always good to make alternatives, keep it up, can see where you are coming from though in simlarity, was just putting forward an analytical statement because just handed in an essay on it :D
you really fucking ruined that whole scene for me, and a lot of other people. go overdub some cartoons or something that would fit your cinematic standards. wait to go, we are all ashamed of you.
(Elliott Smith, 1969-2003 - died from two apparent self-inflicted stab wounds. The Royal Tenembaums was completed in 2001 so no subliminal links apart from Smith's heavy drink/ drug abuse.)
However, in this film, the use of 'Needle in the Hay' by Elliot Smith is a perfect match to the scene where it's solitary sound accompanied by the rare use of sound effects draws on the viewers individual approach to suicide, making the whole experience more personal; being it shocked, disgusted or sympathic towards the character.
As most of you know, Zemeckis directed Forrest Gump and this song was used in the scene where Jenny, (Forrest's childhood friend) is high on acid or a similar drug and is about to commit suicide by jumping from her balcony. The song suits Jenny's individual attempt at suicide because the song clearly defines the era aswell as the part of the film it was accompanying with it's classic tone, texture and increase in tempo before the crescendo symbolising the character's enlightenment.
I tried to time the flashing of the images with the fast guitar riff at the end to bring it all around. And I would have liked to keep the line, but it was mixed with the original background music. If I tried to splice it in, it would have sounded awkward. Thanks for the criticism, though.
