  • Oh and Warner Bros no longer owns Warner Music Group by the way.

  • Fucking satanic cappie wmg, there's a nice cold block of ice down in the ninth circle of hell reserved for you rat bastards.

  • this scene is so much more fucked up with no sound.

  • What is it that these stuck up, filthy rich studio don't get about the fact that they are alienating the people?

One thing is for sure in all this, the coprorate moguls are, as a whole, a completely schyzophrenic entity. Some kind of a salesman who'd go with the " Hey you! ...Look at me when I'm talking to you worm! What the !? You better look down when I look at you! Look at me when I address you bitch! Lower your fucking eyes when I am looking at..." routine.

    We all are traumatized sheep!

  • what did Warner Bros. ruin about this movie?

I have no idea what people are talking about. Did they cut out parts of the movie?

  • it needs the sound and bad to the bone. :D

  • whats the point without the song it what pulls the scene together

  • The original song is " Needle in The Hay" by Elliott Smith and it is one of the best songs ever written

  • Comment removed

  • It's replace by "Free Bird." Just like Forest Gump's suicide attempt scene.

  • that scary as hell i swear to god when i got on here i made a point to look for needle in the hay and right after i would look for free bird its weird how i found needle in the hey and ur talkin about free bird in the comments

  • umm, no forest did not attempt suicide in that movie, that would be JENNY!

  • I dont get it, you didnt just take the "dramatic music away" but the dialog as well. I agree with the other comment, you should just take this down and not waste anyone elses search.

  • It's not the poster's fault. Flippin' WMG is a jerk and took off the audio for copyright infringement.

  • aaah too bad they blocked the sound. really want too se it anyway

  • fucking money mate..has all it is about, for you me them everybody..money.

  • this is kinda redundant now, u should really just repsectfully take this down

  • what was the song?

  • this is my favorite movie scene of all time. the music takes a lot of credit. The Royal Tenenbaums is a spectacular movie

  • whats the point with no sound?!?!?!?

  • Exactly. =[

  • this is fucking homo....I wanted to see this

  • If I knew someone working with the RIAA I'd probably despise them to the point of kneeing them in the nuts every time I see them. But they're dark, evil creatures who stay out of the light

  • FYI, you RIAA cunts are digging your own graves. Keep locking your content down, shitheads.

  • difficult to watch

  • LMAO!!!

  • Sweet Home Alabama would have been more funny.

  • dude good fucking job.

  • Or you could use Salsbury Hill!

    X P

  • now, lower the volume all the way and play abba's take a chance on me. oh god.. awesome.

  • This song definitely takes away from the movie.

  • this song is so wrong for the scene it's hilarious

  • a wow goes to all these ignorant comments

  • ahhahahahhahahhahaha

  • Red neck, everone has heard this song in a movie already. I don't need to hear it again.

  • this is so the drama

  • lol dude, that's some funny shit

  • lol funny.

  • ah hahahaha

  • im sorry jesus lets just chill

  • Hilarious video and the moronic reaction is even funnier.

  • hah, brilliant.

  • Jesus titty fucking Christ, did you faggots even read the description? "Ruin a movie scene by replacing dramatic music, changing the sound effects, or anything else."

He ruined the scene on purpose, you fucking twats.

  • @Strommunism No he didn't. He put the scene to the song "Free Bird". The vid violates some type of copyright, so the sound was disabled (not by the uploader).

    Fucking twat.

  • no one will replace elliott smith

  • it's really funny how pissed people are getting, this is one of my favorite scenes in the movie. doooooob is probably someone who felt like messing around with a movie editor program, chill out everyone

  • way to turn a terrific scene into shit.

  • well, the up-loader was trying to ruin the scene so...idk, maybe he did a good job? I mean really, read the description before getting up on your high horse and critiquing away haphazardly.

  • your face is a high horse

  • That's fucking retarded

  • this is not bad. I mean, put aside the fact that it is a little insulting considering how incredibly the original scene is, but as far as how this was edited to fit the scene, it's not terribly. Hell, it's not bad. It's not GOOD either, but it doesn't stray completely outside the madness and rush of emotions evoked when watching the part where he cuts his wrists, let alone the act itself. I think if this weren't such a serious scene, I would feel more comfortable noticing the comedy of this.

  • you should write him better scripts

  • how much does the job pay?

  • FREEBIRD! \m/^_^\m/

  • You know that a director does a lot more than just pick the music in the scene. Zemeckis had he made this movie, shot this scene, and used Freebird, he would have shot it completely different so that the music matched the scene. If you were attempting to say something with this video and I missed your point, I'm sorry. Please enlighten me with the purpose of this video.

  • agreed

  • well put. could not have said it better myself

  • this is YouTube. wtf do you guys want?

  • i don't think you guys get it. 5*

  • It completely ruined this beautiful scene.

  • i love the original scene but it isn actually that bad

since its kinda a southern song and most country songs are depressing

plus it has that amazing solo

  • You can't compare two great directors dumbass such as these. They're both fantastic

  • hahahaha oh my dear god.

i think this video kinda made my day.

and you people don't need to over react to this honestly, it was just to be funny. It doesn't change the fact that this is a good scene.

Lighten up, add a little humor to your life.

  • wow thanks for taking somting good and making it into crap

no really thank you very very much

  • I d believe this is just a joke, a simple parody of sorts. Its in the title "IF", it doesn't ruin the scene, it just changes the feel with the song, showing how IT CAN BE different. I really liked the Royal Tennenbaum's, and i still really like the Elliot Smith song over this scene, I'm just feeling like some people think this scene is SO SACRED and holy that it CANNOT be touched, lighten up?

  • Wow you really killed this scene with this.

  • the flash of the mom holding the birthday cake was the icing on the cake, so to speak. nice job.

  • why ruin this scene

  • i get the video, but why say bob zemeckis? did he use this song? or was he just an example of a director diretcor who wouldnt be able to get a dramatic scene right?

  • Dramatic near-suicide scene of Forrest Gump

  • haha man I love your videos

  • i wish that wasn't true, but that happens. Zemeckis is good, but shit like this happens a lot in his movies, it makes me uncomfortable. but sometimes the irony of it can play as foreshadowing. sort of like at the beginning of King Kong, when it shows all of the poor people in New York playing, "Im sittin on top of the world." that was fun. (sorry, went off on a tanget there.)

  • This isn't funny. In fact, it's shit.

  • why does free bird make slashing your wrists look cool!! its wrong, sooooo wrong! hahaha (disclaimer: i realise its not cool)

  • hahaha. this dooooob character is ruining my acid trip reworking all these scenes. I should stop watching them!

  • hahahahahahahahaha

  • Okay to all the confused here the point here is to ruin the scene. 'Free Bird' doesn't fit with the pacing and in connection to this scene is hits you over the head with its overly literal connection to Richie leaving this world and his bird Mordecai who he sets free (it is also simply a terrible song). The implication is that Zemeckis, being a terrible director, would have chosen such a piece and ruined the scene.

  • You guys don't get it.. the point is to ruin the scene.

  • this song doesn't go with this scene...it's not depressing enough

  • i really like this but it isnt sync'd well thats all

  • horrible

  • It would be a good scene if richie killed himself because of drugs otherwise needle in the hay by elliot smith is a great song for this scene

  • wow.... the song really does ruin it...

  • dont get it i thought robert zemeckis did a lot of science fiction and stuff with computer effects

  • He directed Forrest Gump.

  • yea i remember that song in the movie would have been cool if it was "back in time" instead, i liked the garden stae one

  • Robert Zemekis sucks! The Good: Forrest Gump Cast Away The Bad: The Polar Express What Lies Beneath Romancing the Stone The Ugly: Beowulf Back to the Futer 2 and 3
  • BttF 1 and 2 were amazing. I'll agree with everything else, though.

  • i disagree, bttf 3 was better then 2

  • yeah thats bollocks. Back to the Future is an immense trilogy from start to finish. And personally i liked what lies beneath (albeit mostly due to michelle pfieffer's sexiness) and Romacing the Stone is good for what it is.

  • lool so good x]

    ...

    I love royal tenenbaums

  • Oh man, you are a genius at these :D

  • I keep drifting back to this video you've made. Because it makes me laugh until it hurts like hell, and if I happen to be drinking something, it jets out both of nostrils. I can't stay away. Why am I so self-destructive?

  • lol, seems more Rob Zombie with the free bird.

  • not really, he always uses songs like this especially in forest gump

  • always u only mean forest gump.

  • this adaptation sucks major dick, the original i so much better, the music doesnt go wit it at all

  • i concur

  • I think he meant for it to suck you dumb ass

  • yuck

  • that was the funniest suicide i've ever seen- thanks

  • Luke Wilson looks hot bald.

  • super duper hot...I'm so in love with him

  • WE KNOW! He was doing this to make fun of another director

  • Zemeckis is a hack, but his films are enjoyable. It's kind of unfair to compare him to a genius like Wes Anderson.

  • lame.

  • i dont get it. all i know of zemeckis' oeuvre is back to the future...

  • haha... I'm gonna think of this every time I see this scene. :(

  • man people are idiots. he's making fun of robert zemeckus. its not his version of how it could have been better. people dont read apparently.

  • I don't understand though. Does Zemeckis use Freebird all the time? Or was it just that once?

  • I think the point he is trying to make by doing this is what everyone is pointing out about it! goddamn why are people such idiots!

  • BOOO

  • this doesn't work at all period.

  • This is pretty funny. But this song usage in Zemeckis' Forrest Gump fit that film very well. Both are two very good and very different films.

  • yeah, but it's not depressing enough, the whlole point of the elliott smith song is to capture the tension he is feeling.....duh!

  • porque Robert Zemeckis???

  • shut up

  • I like the song choice, and I understand that he is becoming as free as a bird; I just think the director had a different direction in mind and this changes the mood too much, staying from the drama.

  • This doesn't work. I'm sorry. Maybe its just the fac that I love the original so much, but this just doesn't cut it. to coin the phrase you used in your description, "Ruin a movie..."

  • You're saying Lynyrd Skynyrd was better than Elliott Smith? What are you, an idiot?

  • This improves it, Elliot Smith wasn't that good.

  • yeh man theres jus some things u don mess or change with... russians, cuban cigars and this movie

  • funny

  • i love this song. it didnt flow well at all in the beginning. the scene was choppy? ya know what i mean? the song is flowly its self so it didnt go very well. but at the end was perfect!

  • Thanks for the compliment. One thing though, the video is taken directly from the movie. Wes Anderson (the director) made the scene intentionally choppy, it wasn't any of my doing.

  • This is an affront to all propiety and the creator should kill themselves immediately.

  • Didn't ruin it for me. I have the choice not to watch this a number of times to engrave it in my memory. Don't see how no one else does.

  • I love Freebird!

  • shit music doesnt belong with good movies

  • am i the only one who loves this?

  • FREEBIRD

    FREEEEEBIRRRRD

  • I thought the ending was REALLY cool, the music fitted so well!! Not the fact that he was like killing himself.

  • you suck doooob and you should feel sorry

  • Ok, I'm sorry I ever made the thing.

  • nah, it's always good to make alternatives, keep it up, can see where you are coming from though in simlarity, was just putting forward an analytical statement because just handed in an essay on it :D

  • you really fucking ruined that whole scene for me, and a lot of other people. go overdub some cartoons or something that would fit your cinematic standards. wait to go, we are all ashamed of you.

  • (Elliott Smith, 1969-2003 - died from two apparent self-inflicted stab wounds. The Royal Tenembaums was completed in 2001 so no subliminal links apart from Smith's heavy drink/ drug abuse.)

  • However, in this film, the use of 'Needle in the Hay' by Elliot Smith is a perfect match to the scene where it's solitary sound accompanied by the rare use of sound effects draws on the viewers individual approach to suicide, making the whole experience more personal; being it shocked, disgusted or sympathic towards the character.

  • As most of you know, Zemeckis directed Forrest Gump and this song was used in the scene where Jenny, (Forrest's childhood friend) is high on acid or a similar drug and is about to commit suicide by jumping from her balcony. The song suits Jenny's individual attempt at suicide because the song clearly defines the era aswell as the part of the film it was accompanying with it's classic tone, texture and increase in tempo before the crescendo symbolising the character's enlightenment.

  • fucking totally wrong and that song is shit compared to elliot smith's needle in the hay. end of.

  • this would be just perfect for the scene if you kept his line in and somehow delayed the climax of the song by four seconds

  • I tried to time the flashing of the images with the fast guitar riff at the end to bring it all around. And I would have liked to keep the line, but it was mixed with the original background music. If I tried to splice it in, it would have sounded awkward. Thanks for the criticism, though.

  • The volume increase worked well. Just record your own voice wispering the line. It needs to be in there.

  • this is better.

  • not completely ruined but not NEARLY as good

  • I completely agree, but for some reason I find switching dramatic movie music funny.

  • Its hardly ruined, its totally appropriate
