information frees the human apparatus but only when it is able to organize information in complex ways when it is able to destroy and create against the force of self preservation. i fear the specialist in the future, they will consume information but they will only be able to organize such information in a crude manner, just as they do now. they have to evolve to avoid eugenics, racial hierarchies, and self destruction and that requires humble reasoning and a curiosity for all subjects.

@drjasonjcampbell humanity is only formed by information and a constant reassessment of that information so i am hopeful that once information is decentralized power will dissipate. power molds the reception of information but if we have this creation and dissemination, we can create a check and balance not based on arbitrary principles but on truth, on raw data. that should be enough to minimize the side effects of abundance (biological racism, hierarchy, forced sterilization).

@piplepipo I think theoretically yes, But the technology of tomorrow is going to consume unimaginable information. Look at watson and its performance of jeopardy. Simply regurgitating information is simple enough, but the more information out there the more powerful the machine thought of tomorrow. So we have to participate in feeding the "artilects" overlords haha, jk. Information is power and powerless people only gain power by participating in the process, but theoretically, yeah it would.

This resonates so well with the contemporary digital age. I worry, though, that humans will entrust technology so much that it will begin to displace the "human" aspect of our existence rather than facilitate our lives. It seems that technology is often seen as a "corrective" implementation on mankind's shortcomings rather than a "supplement" to his progression through history. I guess I'm saying we have to preserve some sense of a collective "human" identity for our ambitions to retain meaning.

The Kinetic Typography gives a whole new dimension to your lectures. I would suggest doing some main stream logic and philosophy this way. It really makes the subject come alive.
