just buried my grandfather today, who died from this illness. three years ago, we buried my grandmother also from cancer. the world has been working for a cure for cancer for nearly thirty years, and there hasn't been much progress imo. i think that a lot of people might be in the position i was in recently, that a cure will never be found. one message to take away from the speech is that a cure WILL be found. cancer has become far too prevalent now, and we can't lose faith.

I appreciate ESPN posting this, with the wraparound piece intact and in 720p none the less, but I do have to say, that lower third is horrendous. It looks like Jimmy V is peaking out over a fence...or maybe he is just a floating head. Get the number for people to donate out there, by all means, just remember that less is more :).

I remember watching the program when it originally aired, crying my eyes out and being so inspired by this truly beautiful human being! Little did I know then that one day cancer would hit me--- and his prophetic words would drive me forward, and continue to do so to this day: Don't Give Up, Don't Ever Give Up. And yeah, I'm still crying my eyes out watching this again.

An amazing speech.. it brought tears to my eyes. It was my first time seeing or hearing Jimmy V speak. I had only heard of him like legend.

He had to have been one amazing man.
