  • the 70's were AMAZING!!!

  • This was from the Tony Awards in 1977. Visited New York for the first time a few months later and saw the show. Magical. Have the original cast album. James Naughton, in bed on the far right, is still around, does voiceovers for viagra and played Meryl Streeps husband in The Devil Wears Prada. Lenny Baker on the left died in the early eighties of cancer. His wife, second from left, Joanna Gleason, is Monty Hall's daughter, still see her occasionally on TV. Ilene Graf, no info on her.

  • Does anyone know who the four band members were?

  • This is sacred! (Takes me back to when I saw the show live on Broadway.) Thanks ever so much for posting this gem. : )

  • does somone have a copy of the South African stage show sound track (around about the mid to late 70's and put on by the Brickhill Burke team) with Tobie Cronje - cant remember the rest of the cast. If so, please post it, would love it!

  • At 13 years old I was there opening night with my mom & sister! I knew every song. Went to Sardi's. So exciting. Mom knew Michael Mark's wife. Michael wrote the theme to Entertainment Tonight. That experience helped me decide to get into the biz. Now I live in LA, travel around the world shooting movies & commercials. "Hey there good times...."

  • What a glorious bit of live theater!!!!

  • They all seem to feel such joy in performing, and wanting to perform for *us.* . Is it possible to still find this kind of joyousness in shows today?

  • check out bill evans and eliane elias's version..it's beautiful

  • I saw this on Broadway (first row) and the cast was literally sweating during this number. Lenny was awesome (I believe he won the Tony for this.) He was a talent who left us way too soon. This was also my first exposure to the marvelous Joanna Gleason, and this show also began my infatuation with James Naughton.

  • No this is way too long to be the Tony segment. I love the song Hey There Good Times.

BTW, I saw a later version with the Smothers Brothers. Ok but not as good as the original. Nor was the all black version with Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs, though it was less smug thatn the Smothers schtick.

  • Pretty sure this is the Tonys.

  • God I remember this segmment from the Tonys (I think this was the segment). It made us get tickets to this musical. When it was over we waited for the cast and they were a lot of fun. Lenny could do anything! Ever see Next Stop Greenwich Village? Sadly he passed away a few years after this. he was only in his early thirties. Thanks for posting.

  • The whole cast rocks.

  • This show is hilarious! It's running in Rhinebeck New York at the Rhinebeck Center for Performing Arts on November 9, 2007 and running for 2 weeks every Friday Saturday and Sunday!!!

  • I wish someone would try to revive this on Broadway!

  • this musical is fucking awsome

  • I doubt anyone has the full show but it's really good! I saw it in South Africa years ago and it was a hit on Broadway! Good music. Nothing good is ever filmed and saved. Only Rap and crap like that that will never last past the boobs who ascribe to it!

  • This is great! You wouldn't happen to have the whole show on tape, would you?
