You can hear the influence of Song to the Siren (This Mortal Coil's version) on this song and some other songs made by Lynch. I wish I could know the mysterious thing between Lynch and this song, it is definitely one of his favorites.
Wonderful tribute video! It really captures one of those core aspects to his films... the guilt. Although I'm still unclear if that's really exactly what Laura is doing, but she fit better in this vid with I.E. and M.D. than Fred from Lost Highway (who would have been the more logical choice as he is also escaping guilt) would have fit.
I watched Inland Empire, in a sad sleepless state, high on opiates... very much lost in my life. The film, in its dark, disorienting form, gave me a sensation similar to that Erasurehead had given to me. I started watching the film at about 3 am.
Then, at the end, this song is sung, and the film acquires a gilded color palette, an ethereal quality of light. This beautiful song coincided with the sun rising the actual world, bathing my living room in angelic beams of light. Dark->mellifluous,
When this song hits at the end of Inland Empire I can't help but feel an overwhelming sense of serenity. This song is the voice of resolution and relief in the film, entering to rescue the viewer from hours of nothing but darkness. Just an absolute beauty within the film.
Exactly how I feel; in some odd way, it even helps explain it, but not logically.....your soul understands the resolution, where you mind has been unable to
I don't think there is any music in the world that will haunt me deeper than my childhood memories of the various Twin Peaks offsprings, but this comes close on some level.
I absolutly love this song!! Does anyone know where i could find it? Album? Soundtrack? Download site? Anything? Willing to purchase. Please, I need to know. Love collecting beautiful songs. Thanks.
gracias por tu comentario, espero que sigas haciendo tus tributos también, que se te dá muy bien, el primero mezclando varias canciones de la banda sonora me gustó mucho.
It could be the most loving effort anyone could express ; The denial of the past.
