@2003HondaCR125R if its the stock fan that runs off the motor the clutch for the fan might be worn out. or the thermostat for the coolant isnt working properly and its making the fan stay on. try replacing either one of those
@33ProSport thanks a little late on the reply but we changes the thermostat and it seemed to work, but now i got another problem. my truck is turning off randomly when driving, we changed the fuel filter and it seemed to fix it for like 2 weeks, but its starting to turn off randomly again. any suggestions or theories????
@richardguerra1213 go to powerstroke help, its this guys youtube channel and he has over 150 videos and i have watched some of the videos including why they stopped with the 7.3 and went to the 6.0.....extremely heplful channel....just saying
No joke this guy is good but the main reason for the dissapperance of the 7.3 is because the tree huggin hippies didnt like how the motor is noise and polutes. etc.......
@kraigcassida - It's called big ol' injectors. My stock 7.3 does the same thing when coming down from a hard launch or run, just not as much, obviously.
look i know alot about the new 6.7 like it has two water pumps one for fuel one for the moter the injecters put out 29,000 psi it has 390hp and 745 ft pnd of tourque i no more about that engine than alot of people they started to make it in 2005 they started with only one cylinder i said international aka navistar desighned the 7.3 i know my fords well enough. im not the best speller but i doknow alot about fords since im a ford guy i just dont like super trucker stacks thats all i hava20007.3
No, Cummins Inc. is a corporation of complementary business units that design, manufacture, distribute and service diesel like i said i worked for them for years they are not owned by any body sorry.....ford has bought into them but does not own them look it up wiki if u dont beleive a salesmen that worked for them
with correct tunning and aftermarket upgrades they can get pretty close put they are school bus engines after all were not designed for automotive industry
@Mctaggart6412 Not exactly. all 3 engines have the potential to be great engines. The 7.3 is ol reliable but is down on power compared to the other 2. the 6.0 can be a near bullet proof engine once the emission systems are removed and the HG issue resolved. the 6.4 is undeniably a powerhouse. With a tuner and a dpf delete kit you can reach power levels of over 600 hp for less than you would spend on either trying to gain an extra 100 hp. Again there is no denying that the 7.3 will out last both.
haha do you drive a tractor to work?the powerstroke is for a light truck and is designed for "light duty" your talking about medium duty engines like the cummins. These medium duty engines work poorly in light duty trucks since the motors are never being used to their capacity. ford losing the powerstroke name will hurt their sales the name is trusted by many, and not their medium duty in house tractor motors used in countries you don't live in
i gotta be honest ford making their own diesel is kinda sketchy, they are better off making the diesels a premium option from a known diesel manufacturer like they did. even i call my 1997 f-250 a "powerstroke" not an f-250 the truck's name is in the engine as far as i can see, the gas motor versions are nothing compared.
no...ford makes cummins. dodge bought cummins in 89. contract goes up in 2010. then ive heard that theyre goin to put cummins and fords. an powerstrokes are made by IH
@huntersmith1989 Ford is not made by international. Ford had a contract withe International Navistar to build the 7.3, 6.0, and6.4. Due to all of the issues the 6.0 had, ford and international have terminated their contract to build diesel engines. Now ford is building the new 6.7 in house
@huntersmith1989 used to be. now with the new 2011 powerstrokes, they are their own engine company now :-). but at the time of your posting, you are correct, just want to point that out that im not stupid lol
your right cummins is its own company but ford had a contract with them before dodge in fact ford had cummins in their early trucks around the same time the 6.9 diesel motor was out also the 7.3 and the 6.9 are the only international motor 6.0 and the 6.4 international went through a european company
@huntersmith1989 your coment is a year old but cummins isnt its own compant , cummins is made by CAT. hence the reason perebuilts kenworths etc. have L6s in them.
@huntersmith1989 Okay you're dumb as fuck... International is it's own company too. Dodge uses cummins in their trucks and Ford used international in theirs. Ford isn't made by international. Dumbass.
9412vpullin, no ford does not own cummins. they only woned 10% of the shares in the early 90's then they sold it because of the financial freak out midway through this decade.
@RoBtHeQuAdEr , Where do people get this nonsense? International has always been and always will be a Ford offshoot. All that's happening is a redirection of profit and titles. Ford pushed the 6.0 into the market too quickly before all the engineering work was finished, so to save face they're shuffling shit around and renaming the same shit so you dipshits think you're getting some new shit. Just like Microsoft fixed all the vista problems and are now calling the reworked OS "Windows 7".
If you want a solid launch then get grippy tires and build a drag suspension. Those both together would be cheaper than rebuilding or buying a new transfer case.
ya but still the transfer case wont get fucked by doin boost launchs and you dont need drag suspenion just to do a boost launch i run big tires and they grip pretty good...well i hope they do cause their the top of the line mud tires
