Most of us are pissed at Paulson for doing away with the old crest. Had he kept it, it would have been by far the classiest and most old-school looking crest in MLS. That said, the original Timbers crest was based on Glasgow Celtic, not Leeds, even though it does have the same diagonal stripes. The Timbers took the round crest from Celtic, put an axe in the center of it, and then drew in stripes the best way they could. They also adopted the same colors.

hmm.. im a nyrb fan, but i kind of like your current crest to be honest... very classic. similar to leeds.

Love the video. The badge change on the other hand, makes me nervous. Would hate to end up with something like that crap team up north.
