@HONGYOUNGEUN Some organs like this one have stops that allow you to play a Glockenspiel, this one mostly likely is a mechanical glockenspiel, but some organs have electronic ones produced by speakers
this is what i think Terry Pratchett had in mind when he was thinking about the Burgholt Stunhold (Bloody Stupid) Johnson Organ! with whoopee cushion, squashed rabbit and flatulent owl.
@DrNastas you might have taken that from the score, but i still have a question:
the pedal note, i hear a C#. and it seems like wanamaker organ is tuned about half step higher, because theres a recording of virgil fox playing Bachs Come Sweet Death, which in the score is C minor, but sounds like C# minor.
So, if that is true, it actually sounds like A aumengted, and C# would be the third in the bass.
Is that correct? is the bass of this chord, a B# in the score? (maybe C natural)
@ericoschmitt Just judged by the ear, actually the pedal note is C#, and I hear there's a major 3rd I think, so C# and E# an octave higher, even an G# maybe. If you ignore the arpeggio in the high register you can hear C# major chord. The high register chord is dissonant, so most likely an augmented. It's hard to distinguish, cos it's an organ and the audio quality is bad.
@DrNastas yes, for me it sounds like augmented arpeggio, or wholetone scale.. but for some reason i got very curious to know exactly what is going on, this chord feels very different
@MegaDani141 I believe that there are 2 or 3 people who have a full time job on maintaining the organ. So there isn't a normal tuning every 5 or 10 years, it is so massive that they are constantly working on it.
Approximately how many levels are there on the Wanamaker Building Pipe Organ? It's beautiful! Has My Girl by The Temptations ever been played on it? Please post a video of My Girl by the Temptations being played on the Wanamaker Organ. Thanx! :))))
@pordzio Well I do remember reading that the building is 7 stories high but I donno. It might be across 7 floors. Although if the deepest pipes are near the consoles, it should only be 5. (In videos I think I've seen the consoles on the 2nd floor)
In the interview with Virgil Fox he mentions 14 stories of pipes. So I always envisioned it with 7 stories each having 2 chambers. The console is on the 2nd floor in a 12-story building. The organ goes up to floor #8. Its hard to imagine it was once a player organ with paper rolls. But that was when it was only a 10,000 pipe unit.
wow bet u can't play pirates of the caribbean or harry potter

It's got to be hard to play any type of march (or anything) on an organ like this with a delay of like 2 seconds. Ridiculous.
