wow at the racist comments here. Yall do realize that BLACKS are NOT the #1 receipts of food stamps BUT poor single WHITE women. The immigrants who come many take "off the books" jobs not real legit jobs that aren't even recognized as income. for programs and tax purposes plus you must prove citizenship to apply (unless you get an exmeption say thru waiting for an assylum hearing that a judge agrees to temp). PLus the biggest thing is FS has always been a proven economic stimulus back into biz.

With the new budget food stamp allotments will be cut by 75%. It is about time!! Why should hard working taxpayers have to support women who can't keep their legs closed? If these women do not take care of their children properly the kids should be taken away from them! Women who continue to have children they can't support are the lowest form of life on the planet.

One of my best friends had to wait and fight for two years for benefits after he went blind! He had been a productive person all his life and the idea of accepting disability was repugnant to him. For 2 years his friends had to help him survive because so much money is taken by morons who have never worked! 2 years!!

I live in a small town and there are plenty of minimum wages jobs. I am a worker in the local office.

I receive as a worker take home pay 2000/month

now a family of mom,dad, and 2 children receive

328 tanf in kentucky 60 month limit or 5 years

658 foodstamps/month

1500/year for car repair and car insurance,

200/month each adult total mom and dad 400/month for GAS MONEY

free medical for mom , dad, and both children.

free college education. free rent, free electric for low income

1st off. there are no jobs!! 2nd food stamps only pay for food, not housing, if anyone is in a hard spot they can get food but not a roof to eat it under, people -have to trade- their food for money it's just a simple fact, they will feed you but as far as a roof over ur head ur outta luck go live ina gutter. this is the problem for many people from all walks of life..

What people should be saying is there are no jobs for the lazy. People need to stop waiting for a high paying job to fall in their laps and go out and get the best job available. Be a cook, wait tables, bag groceries, mow yards, wash dishes. Swallow your pride and get a fucking job.

The truth is...is that we use less of our tax dollars for the food stamp and welfare programs and more on "pork projects." don't u all realize that we do have starving people in the US who really do needs this program like CHILDREN, DISABLED, AND ELDERLY. We can't allow these people to be out in the dark just because a hand full of selfish baby momma's misuse the program. So the best thing u can do is expose these people when u c them with they hair and nails did up and a fake designer outfit

Been happening for years. Don't eat for a week, pay electric bill one more month. It is bad in Ca where rent for a two bdrm. apt is still at least 1000-1500 per month and no one can afford to move, especially if they already sold the car. Welfare rolls have dropped BY 50 PERCENT in the last 15 years here, while loads of immigrants poured in. If there were jobs, Moms would work. Welfare cash aid is only 650 a month, not enough for an apartment, while minimum wage full-time job would cover it.
