  • Well Done. We will remember him.

  • Thank you for everything.......

  • GOD bless you 12urbanwildland im not related to Sgt. droy in any matter , shape nor form. BUT this has to be hte most perfect video ever. speaks to my soul. was it in '82 when canada became its own nation? regardless it is irrelevant. Sgt. droy is and was an ally to my own country, and his service in the Royal canadian army to me is without question.

  • @yamahonkawazuki

    thank you :)

  • @Ronglimeng: Canadians comprised some of the support units in Dunkirk, as well as the Hastings & Prince Edward Regt., which fought in the southern flank.

"The Regiment trained in Great Britain with the exception of a brief foray into France where the fierce Blitzkrieg waged by the Germans cost them most of their vehicles and the Regimental mascot, Little Chief."

The Canadians also returned to Dunkirk in 1944. You may now apologize to Sgt. Droy & the family.

  • @cavscout6b

    Thank you Sir

  • @Ronglimeng Canada was indeed at Dunkirk and it is what made Canada a True and Great Nation. On almost every national memorial Dunkirk is listed as one of our greatest hours. Dunkirk was our Finest Hour.

  • @Ronglimeng actually mate, there were Canadians at Dunkirk, and at the time there were still Canadian units in the British army, and Canadians in the British army in British units etc. (take BATUS) in those days we were still referred to as the British unless they strictly meant Canadian. so it is plausible.

  • @akropiss Mmmmh, that's interesting. Can you name any Canadian units in the BEF who were evacuated across the beaches of Dunkirk in 1940?

(Now I'm wondering if our author was referring to the re-capture of Dunkirk from the land side by 1st Canadian Army in September, 1944?)

  • And yes, thanks to Gordy. I saw him recently, and he is still going strong!

  • Thank you so much for sharing this. I come from a long line of military, and my mother was from Nova Scotia. Both my parents served during WWII, my grandfather was RCR, my brother RCN IRet'd), and my son RCD, and served 3 tours in Afghanistan. This is one of my all-time favourite songs, and you have done it great justice. Thank you.
