Nicknaming yourself the "U" when there are hundreds of schools that have "university" in their name and when you don't even have a "u" in your school's name does not make sense. That is not hard to understand. Utah is the "U", our rival BYU is the "Y". They are just abbreviations of our name, quit getting your panties in a bunch over it.

A University of Miami football page and University of Miami school page, in fact i only see one thing about Utah in the first 3 pages. What does being called "The U" have to do with if it doesn't have to do with the actual name of the school? Again, it's an abbreviation of our name. There is a 700 foot tall U on the side of one of the mountains next to our campus. Our logo is a block U, everything about Utah is represented by that U. That is not going to change

Loved the TCU game, probably the closest one all year. I have never heard the crowd so loud after a TD... look at the camera you can see it shaking from the noise around 3:26 lol... it was also the blackout game!!

The University of Miami was founded in 1925.

The University of Utah was founded in 1850 as Deseret University. then in 1892 it was changed to The University of Utah four years before Utah became a state. The University of Utah IS the original U. not Miami just besause they took the "U" from the word university in their name. any university could do that. its pointless though and makes no sense.

#1. Utah is a MUCH older school.

#2. Utah has busted the BCS TWICE!  They are kicking ass in a system that is designed to keep them down. Miami has all the advantages of a BCS conf. and you guys still suck.
