hey, im a great guitarist, but there are litteraly no drummers where im from and my band needs one so bad that im gonna try to pick it up as fast as possible. for only playing on the kit 2 times i wasn't terrible, but i noticed that my big problems are accuracy on the double bass, and being able to multitask on the drums, its very hard for me to do something with symbols and something else completely on the bass and snare and all that. any tips you can give would help out alot.
This guy should be a juggler or something like that. Don't get me wrong, he is great but I have watched tons of his videos and I do not think he has an ounce of musicianship in him. I wonder if he could even play with other musicians. I acually doubt it.
now we know dad can chew gum and play with his sticks. but the question i have DAN can you walk and chew gum at the same time. lol...naaaaaa man i enjoyed your sticks tricks. i do a few but put more time into playaing single and double stroke rolls...my students like it. but you were most entertaining cept the part you kit your sticks and had to dweep out and come back in in a different tempo. but ty.
he mustave had a few attempts if you watch from 1:32-1:34 the camera jumps because he missed a beat and had to change his rythm? or is that just me :P

hello im LIVES4DRUMS i like your little tricks..as i know them all to. please do something i dont know..keep practising. lol just kidding..it was entertaining..thanks anthony.one question r u bald? by and for real your amazing...lol
hey jerkass i gotta tell ya, with a handle like jerkass, that's a bit of a red flag already, but since we are brothers in drumming, i'm gonna try to break it down for ya....it's kind of like why you take your hat off in church. why you respect old people. you're in the presence of something bigger than yourself. and you have the privilege of sharing it with others. it's a way of showing humility, respect. i guess it's not mandatory however. i'm not a hardass jerkass.
you guys are all noobs, this guy is huge in the drumming world and shouldn't have comments like oh show off blah blah, hes simply demonstrating the use and versitility of the moeller technique,. so withthat said go practice
not really, the grip you refer to is the german grip, the grip he uses is the french grip/american grip. french grip allows you to use your other fingers and the stick's rebound energy to move the sticks faster using less muscles of your wrists. French grip(thumbs up), German grip (thumbs toward each other), American grip (somewhere inbetween).
...seems like you have the technique happening...If you like to see some other drumming which you mostly likely would enjoy....check out JULIAN PERCY...he is on my page too...cheers Danny. Thanks for the post....rock on!
there's plenty of point. this lets you swing faster if you play swing on a set, play snare in a marching band ALOT faster, and play killer solos. very useful skill ;]
Dan, where is your fulcrum, most of the time? index-finger + thumb or middle-finger + thumb? It's hard to tell w/ the 400mph rudiments you're belting out here. ;)
You could tell that he was right handed, not because his left hand was weaker, but becuase he did the majority of his twirls with his right hand...This dude is the truth though, there's no denying that

Technique isn't music any more than the alphabet is a good story, but it helps to know it and you, my friend, know the freakin' alphabet backward and forward. I can't tell if you're right-handed or left, which to me is always a good sign. If you've got a tale to tell, this vocabulary will come in nicely.
i am guessing left handed...because the right hand appeared weaker in the beginning of the video. oh, and his left shoulder is raised slightly higher. this video is pretty freakin sweet too.
PROGRESSING As I know that Your ALWAYS Working hard TOO Keep improving As Your A VERY PASSIONATE ARTIST within this AMAZING ANCIENT SPIRITUAL ANCIENT ART of DRUMMING
Great technique, Dan! Videos like this one should be required viewing for all those double-pedal-metal-heads, who (erroneously) emphasize their feet at the expense of their hands. Although developing BOTH is essential, hands are definately tougher, kids. Learn this first from a master! (Twirl tricks optional!)
this guy is a DC snare player and the playing level is so high he could do that in his sleep, even looks like hes asleep he makes it look that simple.... thats what hours of practise get you if your willing to put the time in. respect
@MADROCKS212 Thanks! I really did put in lots of hours in regard to hand technique with the metronome with free stroke, moeller with Stick Control, Accents & Rebounds, etc...
Not terribly fast -- but your technique was flawless. Imagine that ... a modern drummer who actually moves his sticks with fingers and wrists, rather than just dropping the stick into the pad and letting it bounce. Whodathunkit? Good job.
