  • hey, im a great guitarist, but there are litteraly no drummers where im from and my band needs one so bad that im gonna try to pick it up as fast as possible. for only playing on the kit 2 times i wasn't terrible, but i noticed that my big problems are accuracy on the double bass, and being able to multitask on the drums, its very hard for me to do something with symbols and something else completely on the bass and snare and all that. any tips you can give would help out alot.

  • WTF?

  • Do you live in a trailer ... that looks like mobile home paneling. OH! Absolutely EXCELLENT stick work!

  • Great dynamics, very fluid technique. Great finger control! Amazing to say the least, my friend!

  • @Volentry Thanks you very much!...

  • Whoever the hell didn't thumb this badass vid UP is retarded.

  • you're not teaching. you're Just SHOWING OFF...

  • This guy should be a juggler or something like that. Don't get me wrong, he is great but I have watched tons of his videos and I do not think he has an ounce of musicianship in him. I wonder if he could even play with other musicians. I acually doubt it.

  • now we know dad can chew gum and play with his sticks. but the question i have DAN can you walk and chew gum at the same time. lol...naaaaaa man i enjoyed your sticks tricks. i do a few but put more time into playaing single and double stroke rolls...my students like it. but you were most entertaining cept the part you kit your sticks and had to dweep out and come back in in a different tempo. but ty.

  • @dandadruma1 Thanks!... I just happened to have gum in my mouth at that time! Not planned! lol

  • oh your good.

  • @trippletsense Thanks!...

  • excelent!!

  • @victorulrich Thanks!

  • @victorulrich Thanks!

  • he mustave had a few attempts if you watch from 1:32-1:34 the camera jumps because he missed a beat and had to change his rythm? or is that just me :P

  • Thank you for the nice comments; I appreciate it....Hope you have a Happy New Year :0)

  • hello im LIVES4DRUMS i like your little tricks..as i know them all to. please do something i dont know..keep practising. lol just kidding..it was entertaining..thanks anthony.one question r u bald? by and for real your amazing...lol

  • @dandadruma1 Almost bald!

  • НИХУЯ Себе...

  • thats awesome.

  • Good techniques... How's NJ? I lived there back in the early '90's. Keep it going dude... Love the stick tricks!

  • @utahdrumtech Thanks! NJ is good

  • I love how he's chewing gum at the same time, that takes real skills :)

  • Nice......

  • How can anyone come up with a negative comment about this. I wish I could play like that.

  • крутой!

  • Thank You for watching!... Hope everyone is well!

  • hey jerkass i gotta tell ya, with a handle like jerkass, that's a bit of a red flag already, but since we are brothers in drumming, i'm gonna try to break it down for ya....it's kind of like why you take your hat off in church. why you respect old people. you're in the presence of something bigger than yourself. and you have the privilege of sharing it with others. it's a way of showing humility, respect. i guess it's not mandatory however. i'm not a hardass jerkass.

  • your teacher forgot to tell you you shouldn't chew gum while you're playing.

  • Why exactly? Now whats wrong with chewing gum other then it relaxes you.

  • i don't think he can hold a single or double stroke over 1 minute . bu** sh** !!!

  • idiot much?

  • Complete knob-jockey

  • you guys are all noobs, this guy is huge in the drumming world and shouldn't have comments like oh show off blah blah, hes simply demonstrating the use and versitility of the moeller technique,. so withthat said go practice

  • i agree, im tired of every good drummer on here being negatively critcized, it sucks

  • @jerkass411 Thanks man!....

  • @jerkass411 Thanks!....

  • Why not call the vid "Pad Improv"? There is noting to be learned here except that you have skills and like to show off.

  • the part were he tapped the sticks was gay. apart from that he is an amzingly good drummer

  • So very cool

  • im sorry this guy is a tool

  • !YES NOW THAT I HAVE WATCHED THIS VID IM AM NOW A DRUMMING GOD!!! this vid is crap

  • hes rlly good...but rnt u supposed to hold the stick with ur thumbs facing each other...not up?

  • not really, the grip you refer to is the german grip, the grip he uses is the french grip/american grip. french grip allows you to use your other fingers and the stick's rebound energy to move the sticks faster using less muscles of your wrists. French grip(thumbs up), German grip (thumbs toward each other), American grip (somewhere inbetween).

  • ...seems like you have the technique happening...If you like to see some other drumming which you mostly likely would enjoy....check out JULIAN PERCY...he is on my page too...cheers Danny. Thanks for the post....rock on!

  • how does this video promote technique if hes just showin off the whole time?

  • agreed.....

  • there's plenty of point. this lets you swing faster if you play swing on a set, play snare in a marching band ALOT faster, and play killer solos. very useful skill ;]

  • What's the point?

  • Robot

  • sick

  • you shouldnt comprimise what your playing with stick tricks, everything else was tight but when you try incorporate tricks it ruins the flow.....

  • this guy is damn machine!!!

  • @TAUREANCOOKE Thanks! haha

  • Dan, where is your fulcrum, most of the time? index-finger + thumb or middle-finger + thumb? It's hard to tell w/ the 400mph rudiments you're belting out here. ;)

  • I'm feelin' ya man! Beautiful!

  • @zambizzi Thanks!

  • i need help with these any tips?

  • You could tell that he was right handed, not because his left hand was weaker, but becuase he did the majority of his twirls with his right hand...This dude is the truth though, there's no denying that

  • ooh, six stroke rolls. my favorite rudiment.

  • Good video, not left handed. Just watch, damn good though

  • I will be doing a clinic on Thursday, March 27th. Hope to see some of you there!

  • Technique isn't music any more than the alphabet is a good story, but it helps to know it and you, my friend, know the freakin' alphabet backward and forward. I can't tell if you're right-handed or left, which to me is always a good sign. If you've got a tale to tell, this vocabulary will come in nicely.

  • i am guessing left handed...because the right hand appeared weaker in the beginning of the video. oh, and his left shoulder is raised slightly higher. this video is pretty freakin sweet too.

  • Nice Dan, awesome job!!

  • @agrunyan THanks Alex!

  • OLA como estas' DAN As Your ARTISTRY HAS BEEN

PROGRESSING As I know that Your ALWAYS Working hard TOO Keep improving As Your A VERY PASSIONATE ARTIST within this AMAZING ANCIENT SPIRITUAL ANCIENT ART of DRUMMING

YOu SOUND GREAT KEEP ON WORKING*

    GRACIAS STICKS WIZZARD DRAGON

  • very nice control

  • GOOD JOB MAN YOU ROCK JIMMY.

  • @jimmymccombs Thanks!

  • Someone has been working on their moellers. You a Chapin or Weckl fan as far as technique goes?

  • impressive

  • DAMN!!!!!!!

  • @nastiiasshell THanks!

  • man u have crazy sticks ! !

  • @chochut13 THanks!

  • I rather to focus on the sound than being flashy, but It's cool anyway

  • Damn!

  • awesome!!

  • Great technique, Dan! Videos like this one should be required viewing for all those double-pedal-metal-heads, who (erroneously) emphasize their feet at the expense of their hands. Although developing BOTH is essential, hands are definately tougher, kids. Learn this first from a master! (Twirl tricks optional!)

  • i hate how he uses moeller accents in thebeginngin... but he does that high stick height for looks thing later... pssssh

  • u ta bossssssssssssssss

  • flipin sweet

  • EEEEEEEEEEExceeeeeeeeelente!!!

  • *cries*

  • Wankfest!

  • damn i have to learn learn that oO

  • shit! insane! all my respekt

  • I caught myself drooling.

  • this guy is a DC snare player and the playing level is so high he could do that in his sleep, even looks like hes asleep he makes it look that simple.... thats what hours of practise get you if your willing to put the time in. respect

  • @MADROCKS212 Thanks! I really did put in lots of hours in regard to hand technique with the metronome with free stroke, moeller with Stick Control, Accents & Rebounds, etc...

  • Not terribly fast -- but your technique was flawless. Imagine that ... a modern drummer who actually moves his sticks with fingers and wrists, rather than just dropping the stick into the pad and letting it bounce. Whodathunkit? Good job.

  • @richcapo Thanks!

  • nice work

  • 0_o holy crap o_0

  • Thats freakin fantastic. It hard enough doin a fast double stroke roll let alone all the cool tricks and varying beats. TEACH ME DAM IT!

  • @Murdertrainrecords Thanks!

  • You are a freaking robot man! Nice work!

  • cool stuff man

  • Yeah..he's good lol

  • How the hell does he do the left hand at 2:10??

  • You need to show how to do that lol

  • Incredible, solid technique, I've got lots of work to do :(

  • @SabianAxis Thanks!

  • I think the hardest stuff to pull off in this vid is getting the transitions between all the stick tricks down.Very, very good job.

  • @FanaticDrummer THanks!

  • Oh my God. I've NEVER, EVER seen such amazing stick technique!!! This video has made me just think, am I even a drummer? :P

  • @Arthemesic Thanks So Much!.... I appreciate it!!

  • you fuckin rule!!!

  • @miaalessandra Thanks!!

  • damn thats some sick drumline stuff man. i liked it

  • You look a lot like Chris Parnell.

  • damn even the stick heights are matched

top of the line shit there :D

  • @Mercenist Thanks!

  • your single strokes are top mate.. the flashy thing is not my cupatea.. but you dominate at it..

    good job mate..

    watch my video..

    joe. large

  • Oh please i would like how to do those strokes with one hand!
