  • Just noticed the Mandola on the backrest there, that's what I play...along with guitar, banjo and mandolin along with some bass. As for the guitarist?, that is a different style of strumming for accompanying that reel. But very nice.

  • Well done lads. Matthew is amazing. Brilliant stuff!

  • The force is strong in these two young celtic jedi. Most impressive. I'm guessing they come from families with a strong traditional music heritage?

  • As it happens - No. They both came to music after lessons at school. Both have Irish relatives but neither parents play at all. They were lucky to get diverted to Comhaltas sessions and groups which gave them the encouragement to play this music. Although they have roots in the the tradition, they very much go their own way now though.

  • @GUKLASMYD They teach accordion at Matt's school? O..o

  • Hi Owlet1963

Thanks for sharing this one :-) *****

  • You should have seen last weeks session, Matt was surrounded by three of his mates (all fiddle players). Luckily he is a few inches shorter than they are. There were several near misses though

  • *trying to STOP laughing* thanks mate, you gave me quite some laugh reading this!!! Poor kid.... It's a dangerous life being an accordion player among fiddlers... Matthew, you need an ARMOR!!! :)

  • haha...I can imagine,as a musician in a pub its tough lol!I always wanted to be just a bit taller than I am so I wouldn't get stabbed in the head with one of my friends bows lol....

  • well played , ,,, hows the Guinness over there

  • According to the impartial review in the Irish post a couple of weeks ago, the Guiness in the Hearsall is a perfect 5/5

  • another good one. brilliant playing
