Krishna and others may have had multiple wives, but not for sex. Because of the circumstances that confronted them then, they felt that they had a responsibility to "protect their dignity" in society. Besides, this religion or that, women are almost always treated as secondary beings so there's no point arguing which one religion treats them better. Furthermore, Mr Naik's logic is too perfunctory and does not address the entire reality. Sometimes, he re-establishes my faith in my own religion.

Key word "IF" just like "IF a man murders". This was the law for Israel and those who would inevitably choose to go outside of God's design. masha'allah this is the best explanation i've seen for this topic. what i like about dr. zakir naik is that he has so much knowledge about all other faiths and cultures around the world as well as Islam. however i do feel that he can be a bit critical to other faiths at times. overall a well explained answer though. :)

Krishna and others may have had multiple wives, but not for sex. Because of the circumstances that confronted them then, they felt that they had a responsibility to "protect their dignity" in society. Besides, this religion or that, women are almost always treated as secondary beings so there's no point arguing which one religion treats them better. Furthermore, Mr Naik's logic is too perfunctory and does not address the entire reality. Sometimes, he re-establishes my faith in my own religion.

In other words, their purposes are and were entirely different. While men seek pleasure from their women, Krishna, or any other god for that matter, had nothing but selfless love and compassion, and their mental volition was entirely different, devoid of any carnal pleasure. Here, I should mention that Indian penal code and the inculcated rule of one marriage for Hindus, not to prevent polygamy, but to safe common belief of Hindus on - one man one woman. This belief is followed from “PROSHOTAM PRUSH RAM”. after Ram's commitment to one woman people started following this rule.

1. He justified polygamy by citing a population bias towards the female sex and sex ratio - this is nowhere near the fact.Sex ratio is the ratio of males to females in a population. The CIA estimates that the current world wide sex ratio at birth is 107 boys to 100 girls.anyone can verify by Googling sex- ratio.

What we have in this passage is Jesus teaching about marriage and how it was meant to be since the beginning. The world had been doing all sorts regarding marital relationships but Jesus corrected them.

I assert that Jesus TAUGHT it and it is also part of the Apostles TEACHING and they all go back to what God intended from the BEGINNING as recorded by Moses in the Torah.
It is 1man-1woman because Jesus TAUGHT it.

First thing u need to understand is to make obsolete what REAL terrorists (the media) are conveying to you. You cannot ignorantly target Muslims as terrorists, when you yourself is only feeding it from false resources. There are many major world concerns such as globalization that we need to address, people are being made ignorant and blind with mass appeal. Proff Zakir is not a politician. I dnt see him spreading hate? and his talks are not only in India its worldwide.

Nevertheless, a high proportion have terrorised various communities (sometimes Muslims versus Muslims) in the name of Muhammad’s illah called Allah.
I think that it is right to explore the root/foundations of Islam and see if there was terrorism there.
Jesus taught that false prophets would come after Him and we’ll recognise them by their fruit. What was Muhammad’s fruit…

if this guy really wants to promote peace he should use his outstanding talent at arguments to convince terrorists to stop doing what they're doing.. in fact it should be easier for him since he quotes from the same book as them! so why doesn't he do that instead of spreading hatred (unintentionally if his intention is indeed only to clear misconceptions about islam) in india?

1. Jesus WAS there when the New Testament books were written.
2. Muhammad was not there when the Qur'an was compiled.
3. Muhammad was not there when Uthman ( not a prophet or Apostle) decided on which Qur'anic versions should be burnt.
4. Jesus taught His Apostles and told them to teach the world AFTER he had resurrected. That's why the New Testament (The Apostles Teachings) was written after the resurrection.

In 2 Samuel 5:13; 1 Chronicles 3:1-9, 14:3, King David had six wives and numerous concubines.
In 1 Kings 11:3, King Solomon had 700 wives and 300 concubines.
In 2 Chronicles 11:21, King Solomon's son Rehoboam had 18 wives and 60 concubines.
In Deuteronomy 21:15 "If a man has two wives, and he loves one but not the other, and both bear him sons...."

False. You cannot make a statement like that without showing a verse where it actually says "There is no limit to how many wives you may have, thus says the Lord." A verse like this doesn't exist so stop implying that it does. This type of language is misleading and is a tool of those who are enemies of the one true God and His word.

Even if one accepts that the one man one woman principle is a rater revision to the major religions and is not part of the original scriptures, why cant islam do the same. Essentially, it means that other religions are ready to evolve and improve themselves, however, islam is stagnant, therefore is stuck in middle ages.

Key word "IF" just like "IF a man murders". This was the law for Israel and those who would inevitably choose to go outside of God's design. It is just and wise that IF a man were to marry more than one wife he should provide for them all. It does not justify it. Multiple wives are NEVER commanded/recommended in the scriptures and in fact polygamy has been shown to cause strife time and again as with David & Solomon. It was never God's plan that man should marry more than one wife.
