This will be used for Warfare and Law Enforcement soon. Technology only gets better and if we are this far, who knows how far we will be in 25-30 years.
^^ Yep! And if you recognize it, the voice is Aaron Dismuke, aka, the kid who voiced Al in Full Metal Alchemist! His voice has changed now, but that's him! ^^
Actually asimo operates independently - ie no remote. Its not meant to compensate for a human or have a "soul," but to be used as a tool and as a means of assistance. I imagine if its released, it will be outrageously expensive.
im sry but to some degree it is meant to replace humans or at least it will. receptionists, janitors, housekeepers, maids, etc etc etc. just like machines replaced workers in auto factories, these "machines" will replace humans in other tasks. what other use will they have? the applications are infinite.
That is so cool. Asimo is so awesome and I really want my own. Now all they have to do it make it look human. It would be even more cool if they made it a talking and waling animal. That would be awesome. ^^
It's made to help people. Like she said, soon it could push a wheel chair or something. He already can serve food and stuff, he's basicly for making life a little easier, and for a little entertainment.

Those american households that import mexicans can instead get some quality labor that won't reproduce uncontrollably. That's fantastic!

It is awful, it is soulless. How will a machine compensate in any remote way for anything human. Trust the corrupt Disney to approve and promote

No doubt that Japan will create the first real AI. And Mechs. They are getting much more advanced in technology than other countries.
