  • Awesome!!!

  • I think what everybody is missing is that this was done with a 1.0 liter engine....Yes, the smallest engine in the world in a production car. Obviously you are not going to compare this to a 8.4 liter dodge viper. People just don't get it.......I give you props mad props, good job on your build!!!!!!!

  • lol, you cant take 30 seconds off a 0-60 on most other cars cause youd be going negative :P (smart butt side of me had to leave a comment!)

  • i will give u props on makin it that fast when it hits 60 around 8 seconds thats the same as my explorer with the 4.6 and a hell of a lot faster than my old ranger 3.0 took no less 13 seconds to 60

  • Little monster

  • Lol hihi

  • thats so pathetic.. 100 mph?

  • when i get a lil older i willg et this car. i know this car has 41 mpg. how many gallons does this car have?

  • Is this smart still up and running? Really cool :)

  • that smart is sick!

  • Did anyone notice his engine light on?

  • passing someone going 100 in a smart car and you know there expression is going to be "WTF i got passed by a door with wheels going 100+ mph!!! >:/" lol

  • lol you maxed out the speedometer and still have a gear to go. (:

  • how do you know when to shift?

Is there a turbo kit offered by someone or you had to fab everything?

Overall, cool car. . . if I saw a SMART car blow past me on the freeway doing 100+, I would die laughing, Funny and good stuff man!

  • @gemineye99 when the engine goes "WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" really loud ... :)

  • lol the speedometer doesn't go faster than 100 mph

  • How much HP??

  • Very nice. Witch Mods do this car have? Maybe you can give me some Tips, i drive a 61HP 450 Smart Car.

  • I chuckle at the reactions that most drivers would be giving if a smart car blew past them at 90mph. XD

  • Aren't you worried about the aerodynamics at that speed? I mean taking one of the most failure cars of all time (slow, low gas milage, awful looking) and making it turbo is an amazing idea, but I'd be worried about flipping it over. Is there any problem with it in that regards?

  • @budmorgan23 The car is designed with an extremely low center gravity despite how tall the car is. The fuel tank is directly center and underneath you, the engine and transmission is also underneath you and directly behind the seats. I can hold very similar speed in the smart car thru certain turns as my 07 SL550. Tried flipping it at the infineon raceway to no avail.

  • @budmorgan23 And... the aerodynamics of the vehicle is the reason why it's not designed for top speed, after 60 mph the car is like a brick basically thru the air lol.. that I will admit as that's a fact.

  • @budmorgan23 Failure of a car? You're joking right? Tell me one, just ONE full petrol car in America that beats it in MPG. And tell me just ONE car that'll beat the 2010 smart CDI in fuel economy...NONE....

The 2010 CDI took the world record for most fuel efficient production car...

    Failure my a**

  • @Neonspinnazz30 I'm sorry that you feel this car is amazing. You obviously have no testosterone in your body.

Anyway, these are cars for people that want to look like they're saving the world and for girls that think they're cute. They can only seat two and have no storage space, so comparing it to a normal car on fuel economy is ridiculous, as it cannot preform as a car. I would sooner compare it to a golf cart.

I don't care if you have one and love it, it's just not a practical vehicle

  • @budmorgan23 There are plenty of other cars that have been produced that only has two seats (Fiero, MGs, etc.) and that's no problem to me because I really never taxi anybody around anyway (I currently drive a SUV).

It has plenty of storage space, enough for me to fit two suitcases in the rear or a good amount of groceries (smart used a small tumbledryer in their Euro commercial).

Fuel economy? It has the best of all non-hybrid/diesels in America...

    It's not for everyone...=(

  • @Neonspinnazz30 Those other cars may have two seats, but they weren't slower than if I brought out my old tricycle and tried to pedal to work.

And you should be more concerned about your safety than the planet. The Smart car does not have suitable crumple zones for its size and it's basic physics that larger objects transfer their weight to smaller objects, so the Smart car will more than likely distribute all of the force to the passenger.

Fuel economy should never compromise safety

  • @budmorgan23 Here we go with safety...I'm not even going to try to prove my case like I've done hundreds of times before...It's safer than a motorcycle, and I'm fine with that...

Enjoy driving a SUV because they're "safe"...

  • @Neonspinnazz30 Wasn't there a case about a Honda managing to flip over a Suburban and killing the SUV's occupants?

  • @ShinMegamiTENsei537 Yes there was...It's kinda odd to see small cars dominating much larger vehicles, but the laws of physics do not play too kindly with tall cars (including the fortwo). Unfortunately my MPG arguments are now invalid as over the past 9 months so many petrol cars were released in the USA that could beat the fortwo. :(

  • @budmorgan23 P.S. The MG Midget is exactly as slow as the fortwo and has even less room.

  • @budmorgan23 But I have to say something so I will:

    1. Tridion Safety Cell (I'm not spoonfeeding it so Google it)

    2. Belt Force Limiters

    3. It actually does have crumple zones

    4. Only 4 recorded deaths in the USA

    5. High Tensile Steel safety cage...

To hell with it, just watch the video on my channel regarding safety...

    Good day...

  • @Neonspinnazz30 Are you an eco-nazi?

  • @budmorgan23 I'm one of the last people in line to tie myself to a tree in the rainforest. I hardly recycle...

But, we'll soon realise how much damage we're doing to this planet, it may not come now, and I hope not in my lifetime...

  • @budmorgan23 I don't want to buy it to look cute. I do care about our green planet but also I like the history and the design of the smart, and maybe more importantly how the car is unique, out of the ordinary, and thinks outside the box.

I see it as an extension of my personality as well...

But like I said before, it's not everyone's cup of tea and there are more practical cars out there...But it's really about what fits you, and not everyone else...

  • @budmorgan23 low gas mileage? people here have been getting 51 mpg with those on hwy and low 30's city... how is that low gas mileage? compared to what? a hybrid thats overpriced and needs like 10 grand worth of batteries every 5 years? i will admit tho even with a turbo its still slow and not gonna win any styling contest.

  • Awesome I love smart cars they are the best car out right now and not because they are fast (because they're not) but because they are more than a car and most people don't understand. Anyway I just have a question why is your check engine light on?

  • what is the speed ?!?!? 100kh ou miles !!!!

  • It sure isn't limited to 90 anymore...Awesome Larry...

  • holy shit thats fast, dude a smart car is not for racing and speeding so you dont need that much money to spend on it and make it fast. go get another good car if u need speed.

  • 90mph in 15 seconds, my saxo cud hit that, nothing special is it?

  • @lodgeyboys No it's not special when compared to another car, this wasn't about comparing it to other cars though. It's the fact that the factory smart car does it in 45+ seconds and I was able to take the stock engine and do it in 15. That gain of 30 seconds in ANY car I think is special without blowing something up :) It's more of the technological advance of this small tiny engine that amazes me.

  • @littodevilish I agree with your writeup about this car/video. There are so many "experts" on YouTube ... yes I could've bought this or that or whatever ... fuck off, this is my money/car and I did what I wanted. Did I pay you a consulting fee, well if I'm not willing to pay for your opinion then I sure as shit don't want it for free. Keep it up!

  • @lodgeyboys lol@ saxo

  • @lodgeyboys

your saxo can hit 90 in 15 seconds? That would surprise me very much.

  • but suprisingly their very roomy in the inside...

  • wow pretty gud from such a small engine.... but gotta admit, the Smart cars look sooo funny going fast. Saw one speeding the other day... lol it looked soo strange. like a lil rc car or sumthing.

  • HOLY SHIT

    that's so sick!

im stuck with my 71hp engine!

    :(

  • what was the reason for the Check Engine Light?

  • Awesome, Larry!

  • You should put a 'busa motor in it and turbo it :) But thats pretty sick with what you are able to do with the stock motor. I have watched your other videos and am subscribed :)

  • @theemonopolyguy Haha thanks! I went this route because in reality it's more realistic then custom fitting a busa motor into it and I wouldn't be able to really make money by installing it for other people, the market is even smaller then the turbo market itself on the stock engine. This way I can still retain all the factory feature of the vehicle :) There's obviously pro and con to going Busa or this but I feel this is still a better option to me and my customers ;)...

  • @littodevilish If for whatever reason I get a smart car I am sending it to you :) Do you have to custom make the turbo kit yourself?

  • @theemonopolyguy Haha it's a kit I offer ;)... with the water / meth injection, and nitrous oxide direct port spray... and a custom engine dampener.. it should definitely be quicker to 90 mph then 15.3 seconds.. haha considering factory is 45+ sec.. this is just amazing ;)... Stay posted on my videos if ur curious! I uploaded two more videos... yesterday.. but just an update, my ECU isn't screwed up.. my piston ring seals are though... ;(

  • @littodevilish D: to much for the little engine? Definitely keep us updated

  • @theemonopolyguy No.. there wasn't room for a proper blow off valve until I changed and designed a water to air intercooler setup that gave me more room in the already tight spaced engine bay, but that time frame was too late I guess as the oil seals in the turbo was already going. Once it broke it was shooting oil into my intake and the engine just sucked up a huge amount and since you can't compress oil, it blew right pass the oil rings seals and yea... haha

  • Nice but my old 450 is still quicker with original engine 0-100km/h (62mph) 8.2 sec.

  • @Kermismovie1080i The 0-60 isn't all that really, yours is probably quicker due to quicker shifting, the real performance gain is seen from 60-90 mph as the smart car is so NOT aerodynamically slippery thru the air. This 451 in stock form takes 45+ secs to get to 90 mph yet it only takes it around 14.5 to get from 0-60 mph. That's like more then 30 seconds just to get from 60-90 mph! I cut that time down from 30+ seconds down to 7.3 which in all aspect is amazing.

  • What the heck? Awesome!!

  • This is so cool! I have a standard smart car turbo 1.0 84 BHP stock version (Europe) Your car is also quicker than the brabus version in Europe! COOL

  • nicely done, sir

  • My mouth hit the floor and stayed there...
