Why have not been informed earlier of the existence of this wonderful piano man?Who is to blame for this unforgiveable lapsus?Never mind;the music is wonderful. Thanks to all who made this event possible!
One of your best Carl! Brutal barrel house, right into the guts. The speaking in the back ground adds to the atmosphere, though I'd much preferred them to STFU!!! It'd been okay if they were crashing the furniture and howling to the moon, but they were just having a chit-chat-chardonnay conversation. I hpe it was overdubbed.
This is one of the few 'boogies' that's truly impressed me. This is no 12-bar blues.. 8 bar phrases (count 'em). Now, wouldn't it be REALLY neat to hear the version as played by "Prof. Charlie Lee", in 1897?
In any event, an engaging performance by Mr. Leyland, and thanks for posting it!

this is my favorite melody version of this tune. It captures the heart and soul of the song. Just wonderful.....;))

This was recorded in a cafe, so of course people are talking and waitresses are taking orders etc.

Sounds just like Archibald's version!

Superb! Not your typical Leyland boogie style - more bluesy. On my favorites.

Wonderful, much different from the John Hurt recording that I know. This video and hearing Eric Bibb's performance inspired me to take up this piece.
