Early JLL recordings did not feature guitar solos. What a difference JB makes to this great entertainer. I have been listening to them both for over 50 years!

two reasons.....money and health...
Its cheaper for JLL to pay one guitar player, kenny lovelace, than two. And James is probably not for touring on a constant basis anymore.

We dont know how much money JLL has, but from what I understand, JB is not in the best of health. And his band probably doesnt need 2 guitar players for most shows..
