  • i remember my dad had a 1990 gmc saffari van ext version that thing hauled ass and we never had an issue with it man i was such a dork being proud that my dad had a mini van that could beat the hell out of a 5 litre mustang

  • I have a 86 it has a late 60s early 70s 350,small cam(way bigger than stock) highrise intake and a 650 Edelbrock and also full lenth headers and it has a B&M shift kit. I'm running into Title problems cause I'm using a power of attorney but I had a plan b when buying it,it'll break em loose going 20mph. Plan B is to yank the drivetrain put the rims on my truck, scrap the body and find an old S10 it can be dented up I like sleepers then I have every thing but the motor mounts to have a mean S10

  • whats the point in puttin a v8 in a minivan?!

  • @MrMatty1993 'cause it was easy,and I got it cheap with a blown 4.3l v6

  • @MrMatty1993 To make people with tradition sporty cars look dumb when the get whipped by a van,I traded my 83 Camaro with he 305 H.O for my Astro and it would tear the Camaro up while hauling 8 friends

  • @MrMatty1993 y not put a v8 in a minivan?

  • @MrMatty1993 it ait mini belive me its full size

  • @MrMatty1993 Just because you can.

  • nice !!!!!!! check mine out those chevys b cheap and easy , the s-10 i had the same year with a jasper 3-1 and a t-5 tranny and and couldnt keep a rear axle in it but they are in every bone yard around try a 1998 rear and you have a lil lower gear but almost all i see in 98 are traction lock and do great burnouts

    nice job

  • needs a stiff rear-axle =)

  • My neighbor has a '92 Safari cargo van with a blown motor, I have a spare 350 long-block with vortec heads sitting in my garage. Hmmm...

  • is that safari blue with flames on the sides?

  • apparently you can stuff a 427 in them, but a 350 is not hard (I think even the bolt pattern is the same)

  • @KHearse87 Do it

  • @KHearse87

yeah youd be silly not to lol

  • If i did a V8 conversion on a Safari/Astro i would get a rearend that could handle the power. The rearend is the weakest point in them things.

  • The rear end on astros is offset (because of the location of the gas tank), so swaping a 10 bolt from a truck wont work.havent had any probs with mine (newer astro's +91 have 30spl and 7.625inch ring gear).

  • pretty sweet man!

  • Yup, there is alot of them out there. Its easy to swap, and cheap if you keep it TBI.I modified the tbi harness to make it TPI.

  • Its nice to see other V8 astro swaps out there. Check mine out & let me know what u think!

  • nice... i didnt know v8 astros existed..

  • It's quite easy to drop a v8 in.

  • there is no v8 astros but you can swap it with v8 drop right in .

  • I'm pretty sure there are, especially the AWD ones.

  • damn the camara almost got hit by the shreds of tire

  • nice....
