You must have just barely made the age cut-off for enrollment. It's got to be pretty tough being the youngest kid in your grade. Do you get teased alot?
Hey...... are you insinuating that I "flunked" a grade? The video you are referring to was recorded in late May 2007 (at the very end of 8th grade). And like most of the people in my class I had already turned 14 at that point.
Thanks for continuing to watch my videos. Hope you enjoyed them.
Actually there were quite a few people sitting further back. The judges sit near the front and talk into their tape recorders. Most listeners try to stay away from the judges so they don't interfere with them.
very well done. This is one of my favorite jazz tunes. I like the quartet sections from 1:29 to 2:35. another section I really like is from 4:25 until 5:15. I really like the tempo and can feel the groove through out the whole tune. What tempo are ya'll taking it at? it is a nice tune when the tempo is kicked up like that ! !
It was a fun tune to play too. This was last year (2008). We don't play the song this year. I've had several people comment that we played it "too fast!" Actually.... we did play it faster on this performance than we had practiced it.
The band almost didn't make it to the festival at all. Their bus broke down halfway from Phoenix to Flagstaff. They had to wait for another bus to drive up and pick them up. They arrived about 2 or 3 hours late, and had little time to do anything except go onstage and perform.
Thanks so much for the compliment. The crowd's reaction may have been muted, but the festival judges weren't. The band received the judges' highest rating.
this is awesome, sooo good

the part for the tenors at the very begining, which is the rapid part, which is an "F"?
anyways, for my band, the 1st trombone plays to, in pretty cool.

The lead trumpet note (high C, I think?) at 5:39 gives me chills every time I hear it, which is awesome.
Actually, I think this entire band is awesome, the sound amazes me, and this is only a high school band?

I just listened to it again, it's a high G.
Those are some crazy chops that those trumpet players have.

You guys should think about coming down to El Paso sometime. We're some pretty tough competition, if i do say so myself. =)

Great performance. It would have helped if the band had adjusted to the acoustics of the auditorium better, though.

Fantastic! great section work. Audience reaction is very muted in my opinion. That would have received a huge roar in the Uk.
