I am considering buying this game. To me the game play looks amazing, the graphics are epic and even though everyone says Samus is to whiny I have heard her and I can deal with it without going crazy. I am a huge Metroid fan but I am still deciding.

@MrMetroid1998 in comparison, its much worse.... Metroid series is much greater than Resident Evil or Final Fantasy.... especially final fantasy... that series has a few good games then the rest blow (except the early ones are allright)
@Flacksful It has not killed Samus Arans character it just changed her a bit, I'm pretty sure they will go back to her old personalty next game thanks to all the bitching the haters and G4 have done, besides it still a great and enjoyable game and it sold better in Japan then any prior Metroid game.

@MrMetroid1998 because its not a decent game... it is a lowpoint in the metroid series. It brings nothing new to the metroid series that is good, the story is terrible and contradictory to other metroid games, the voice acting is atrocious, the gameplay itself is not very good/fun, exploration feeling is lost due to its overly linear style, it loses the metroid atmosphere and doesn't really even feel like i'm playing a metroid game... in comparison, its terrible, on its own, its garbage.

I don't really feel like repeating all the things I dislike about the game and I don't feel its necessary because you claim to be 26, so I assume you can read. Other M was a ballz game on its own and yes, it receives more criticism because it is a metroid game because metroid games are traditionally amazing games and it sets a very high bar.

@MrMetroid1998 ok, the wii has only a handful of great games. most games on the wii are trash and 2010 was kind of a dry year for nintendo (imo this generation in general is meh for nintendo console-wise, the ds is doing pretty good though). Not many incredible games were released for the wii in 2010, so it may very well be one of the better ones. I still don' think that its a very good game but yes, it is better than a lot of the current garbage games being released.

@owenisawesome1 I'm not a huge fan of current nintendo. I love nintendo pre-wii. Honestly, nintendo isn't releasing enough good games to keep me interested at this point (console-wise)

@owenisawesome1 Twilight princess was also for GC, it came out in the transition era and the GC version was better due to more fluid controls. It was originally meant to be for GC. Monster hunter Tri is decent. New super mario bros sucks when you compare it to other mario games. and yea.. while the wii may have a few good games, they are severely overshadowed by the bad games and nintendo's attempt to become an overly casual company. The wii is just their worst decision since the virtualboy.

@MrMetroid1998 That's true, I did enjoy the game, I just didn't like how the plot folded out in the end. It was too anti-climatic and left a lot of questions to be asked. Plus, they gave Samus too much monologuing. A bit of it was okay, but the game turned her into the classic anime whiney-character that the Metroid series shouldn't have.
Knowing EXACTLY where to go at all times is not fun. Saying this game is more linear than previous metroid games is a gross understatement. Secondly, the upgrading system was terribly executed. Remember how awesome it was when you finally obtained the plasma beam in prime 1? That feeling of achievement and excitement centered around gaining new abilities was almost nonexistent in other m. The game was way too short as well. The whole game just reeked of low quality.

its a complete disgrace. it takes the character that was samus, and butchers her personality and essence, making her turn into something thats supposed to be "human-esque" this is ridiculous... samus is a fucking biological weapon. she's trained not to have emotion, so her feelings and such are irrelevant and illogical
you think that a bounty hunter, trained from when she was like 4 to be a weapon, who runs about the galaxy faceraping spacepirates is going to have feelings or even give a shit about anything... it also takes away from the whole needing authorization thing... she's a super soldier... she wouldn't care if she's allowed to do something or not, she's samus... she'll do whatever she wants, but not in other m.... in other m she's a dependent socially awkward child... its annoying and its not samus.
@TheAesirGod I'm Really sure we want a heartless bitch for a main character, granted Samus Potrail is overdramtic but she still kicks ass, and the gameplay, graphics, and overall experiences of this game in my eyes is very well done and the enemys and bosses are well designed, and are a bitch to beat on hard mode.

On hard mode its the hardest Metroid game ever, Metroid Other M deserves all the good reviews it gets and more.

Samus has taken orders in 90 percent of the games. You might want to read the booklets - They explain how head quarters "ordered" her do this or that, or she was commissioned by the forces and told to go do something. She's always taken orders in one form or other.
Hey people, stop complaining about him not givving a lot of games 10/10, not many games are worth 10/10. A score of 10 is the mark of an epic game, a game that will be a classic and is awesome in every way. Not bad review but I think you could have said more good and bad things about this game.
Zero Punctuations, review of Other M explains the game much better I don't mean to be a dickhead but thats just my stupid opinion.
I'm still buying this game but next time I hope nintendo and other 3rd parties make the next metroid game with less story like in the previous games, the story was never important in metroid it always keeps the long story short.

It brings nothing new to the metroid series that is good, the story is terrible and contradictory to other metroid games, the voice acting is atrocious, the gameplay itself is not very good/fun, exploration feeling is lost due to its overly linear style, it loses the metroid atmosphere and doesn't really even feel like i'm playing a metroid game... in comparison, its terrible, on its own, its garbage.

@MrMetroid1998 ok, the wii has only a handful of great games. most games on the wii are trash and 2010 was kind of a dry year for nintendo (imo this generation in general is meh for nintendo console-wise, the ds is doing pretty good though). Not many incredible games were released for the wii in 2010, so it may very well be one of the better ones. I still don' think that its a very good game but yes, it is better than a lot of the current garbage games being released.

@owenisawesome1 Twilight princess was also for GC, it came out in the transition era and the GC version was better due to more fluid controls. It was originally meant to be for GC. Monster hunter Tri is decent. New super mario bros sucks when you compare it to other mario games. and yea.. while the wii may have a few good games, they are severely overshadowed by the bad games and nintendo's attempt to become an overly casual company. The wii is just their worst decision since the virtualboy.

Plus, they gave Samus too much monologuing. A bit of it was okay, but the game turned her into the classic anime whiney-character that the Metroid series shouldn't have.

Knowing EXACTLY where to go at all times is not fun. Saying this game is more linear than previous metroid games is a gross understatement. Secondly, the upgrading system was terribly executed. Remember how awesome it was when you finally obtained the plasma beam in prime 1? That feeling of achievement and excitement centered around gaining new abilities was almost nonexistent in other m. The game was way too short as well. The whole game just reeked of low quality.

@TheAesirGod Face it Metroid Other M is nowere near as bad as you say and its certinely not a terrible game or a terrible Metroid game for that matter, I Played it myself and found it to be a highly enjoyable Metroid Game.

@bigal2k643 i have no problems with the wii itself (although i prefer analog vs motion) however what pisses me off about the wii is how much they over due the casual/family friendly stuff... if it focused more on making good, quality games (not only talking about hardcore/competitive) rather than these cheap "quick cash" shit games the wii wouldn't be so bad...

@TheAesirGod i under stand what you mean but i think most 3rd party developers have learned how to make a good motion controller game.most new ga,mes for the wii wont beshovel ware now. too bad it came at the end of this generation amd the wiii has the first good 3d sonic game since sonic adventure 2 on the dreamcast. it is oviose my faverite console is ofcoure the sega saturn

wow! 8/10??? you do realise they totally F*cked samus personallity in this game ruining the franchise do you?? instead of the badass she was shes now taking orders and freaking out, the sensation of being alone is gone and the graphics look worse than prime 1 and 3,and once you master d doge move the game is over....boy your reviews look pretty much like IGN and others just buffing the game sup so everyon buys them....

Samus has taken orders in 90 percent of the games. You might want to read the booklets - They explain how head quarters "ordered" her do this or that, or she was commissioned by the forces and told to go do something. She's always taken orders in one form or other.

Hey people, stop complaining about him not givving a lot of games 10/10, not many games are worth 10/10. A score of 10 is the mark of an epic game, a game that will be a classic and is awesome in every way. Giving it an 7 or 8 as he gives a lot of games means it is a good game, but is flawed. srsly ppl, get over yourself, don't like the reviews? don't watch it then, or post a video response with your, "better" review and strike awe in us all...

Not bad review but I think you could have said more good and bad things about this game.
Zero Punctuations, review of Other M explains the game much better I don't mean to be a dickhead but thats just my stupid opinion.
I'm still buying this game but next time I hope nintendo and other 3rd parties make the next metroid game with less story like in the previous games, the story was never important in metroid it always keeps the long story short.

I read that this game was bad. And the Team Ninja (the developer) really screwed up this Metroid and should just stick to Ninja Gaiden. (Not that I would mind :D )

To me, this game is just unimpressive, I mean it IS a good game and all but the disappointment only started when we saw how she was gonna be controlled. A nice idea but it's exicution wasn't that good Going into First from third? again, a brilliant idea but not fully exicuted well.
