@421starwars We honor our war dead on November 11 because the armistice ending the first world war was signed on November 11 1918. D-day was June 6. 1944 and brought about the end of the second world war in Europe. I am not sure what you meant by your post but hope you found this informative.

Thank you for this. I work at a hospital and last year just before Nov. 11 I had the honour of speaking with one of the last living Spitfire pilots from WWII. He told me, 'When you sit on the edge of a field in the morning throttling up your plane and it's a beautiful day to fly but you know you're going up to try to kill another pilot or you're going to die and you're only 23, well, it changes you...it surely does." I told him we owed his generation everything and I thanked him.

on december 24, 1914, both sides of the war, canada/britian, and germany, defied orders and walked out to the center of the battlefield, all fire was ceased, and they all celebrated together. If we can do that, then why cant the usa/candian armies make peace with the vietmanise? i mean really? i'd say that if both sides tried sitting down and talking, they'd realize; Were all human, were all the same, and we should respect men, and stop the fighting. thums up if you agree...;)
