  • great car for real man

  • i just went to the site of buick, and what did i see? A buch of clones from eachother that all look like average japanese cars. Not a single model looks different from the other, and in the add above their site on the 3th page appears a.......ricer! No wonder those cars look like shit, because it seems that designer is an extinct occupation. Maybe the americans should hire some european designers, and start design retro cars, because retro cars are hot these days, so why don't they get that?

  • неужели несудьба мне сесть за руль этого шедевра....???!!!(((((((((((

  • how many zebras would it take to cover that beast! Damn nice ride, but too quiet! this thing should roar like a boss.

  • Car doesent evn fit in the parking space.

  • Beautiful, a work of art driving around a parking lot full of shoe boxes with wheeels.

  • @joeysixtysix

    loooooooooooool shoe boxes!!!!! heheheeheheheeh

  • I bet it has a 4 banger in it, I blasted my (Japanese made) Speakers and I couldnt hear shit from that engine. 455 make a notoriesly loud grumble, even stock 455 would be chugging and gulping.

  • @HeroSavage Maybe take a moment and look at his other videos too before making yourself look like a complete idiot.... There is a wonderful invention called a muffler, perhaps he doesn't want a loud car.. ever think of that? -_-

  • how does that Buick fit on the Japanese roads!

  • LOL look at the parking space.

  • SAIKOOOOOOYA!!!!

  • Incredibly ominous! I can only imagine the reaction you must get from people, in Japan, of all places! I can remember the first one of these I saw when I was 9, in '78 or '79, dark red with a white top. Left quite an impression on me.

  • I used to have a '58 Special and a '59 Electra (in black). Buicks have this weird, almost gothic, strangeness. Like grotesquely beautiful deep sea fish, with a big mouth full of teeth. Buick were the masters of creating ominous, intimidating, sinister tank. Thanks for posting this. You own one of the coolest cars on this planet.

  • Now that's a nice car.

  • You're a lucky guy : Japanese and that black monster so beautiful ! =D

You seem to be in love with it...

  • What a gigantic ride! Very mean too... Nice man

  • nice butt!

  • lol it doesnt fit in the parking spot

  • Perfect car for a hitman.

  • boat tail Riviera...Hmmm

    Did It Float?

  • That is one sweet ride !

  • so weird seeing the japanese license plate on an old american car lol

  • How the hell can a japanese guy look over the steering wheel of that? must have a childs seat in the driving seat. And strap on briks at the feet for the gas and brake

  • One of the most beautiful cars ever made... prettier than an E Type Jag or Lancia Fulvia in my books... but not quite a Stratos or 037 Stradale.

  • they dont know nothin about this over there

  • Everyone like the classic American cars. Anyone who thinks they don't are lying to themselves.

  • y,,,ou to much in love with car , suckie suckie long time

  • The coolest car Buick ever built!

  • you can tell its japam by all the weird ass cars in the background

  • awesome car, but you fucked up the interior.

  • Do. Want.

  • Fajna furka :))

  • first time i seen this car... ty for the video!! nice car.

  • If Darth Vader drove a car. this would be it.

  • lol it looks pimp on the inside.

  • ....NICE!

  • do you know where i can get a stock grill for that car? i have the same one but the grill is worn.

  • dude.... beautiful car man. But you got to tint those front windows to match even tho it's not legal. It would look crazy hot even more than it does.

  • Beautiful car! I have to ask...How is it on gas?

  • awesome car but get yourself louder pipes ;)

  • Jon is a homo, but with that being said, nice car!

  • and if you havent named it yet i think you should call it the murder mobile

  • sexy car your a lucky guy to have such a nice classic

  • this is one mean sob of a car... grrrrrrreat looking

  • omg that is sexy man! can you post inteior shots please?

how is the handling on this? sporty? whaley? soso?

  • beautiful

  • that thing must make people run in fear.

    thing is mean

  • very nice!! what happened to the chrome grill?

  • once again, FANTASTIC CAR...thanks for sharing...

  • Sweet!!! Yeah for Buick in Japan!

  • that is one bad ass boattail.....the interior is crazy as hell though man....lol need ta lay some leather down in there.

  • sick car but i would rather leather than zebra interior

  • That's a beautiful car. Funny to see it among all those junky little Toyotas!

  • If u haven't seen it already, rent Red Rock West. yeah, dennis hopper, nic cage, blah blah are in it--but the star of the movie is a mint black w/black leather interior '72. the cameraman and director were obviously in love with it! check out the scene where it's racing with train and manages to pull ahead of the engine and cut across the tracks!

  • This car is beautiful. The hunt is on. I've been searching for one for months.

  • the guy who designed this car, Bob Mitchell, also designed the Corvette Stingray -- this is really a large version of the Stingray.

  • @arcataberry ...no, some similarity I admit but...no

  • the rear view is like a mini-riviera. the sweeping glass etc. you can see that it's a prototype for the larger car. oh, his name's bill mitchell, not bob.

  • You are now without doubt the coolest dude in Japan.

  • that riviera's the shit!!!!

  • BUICK should bring this car back with retro styling.

  • yeah they should...thats a phat ride!

  • @TheLizardKing1967 Absolutely, but they never will. We can only dream.

  • nice that car mostly like take 2 lane there in japan.

  • if that car could talk it say take me back to the United States away from all of these compacts and good MPG vehicles

  • Oh! I wrote too soon. Maybe it is yours! lol

I never seen such a sharp looking Riv. Damn. I just looked at one and they want 4000. But its not hooked up. Its E'ffing green with some rust.

But if this is a possibility to what that one could be? Wow!

  • dont be discouraged, depending on what part of the country your in, you may be able to pick up one for 2 or 3, ive seen them that low out here in southern cali...theyll need work no doubt, but you should be able to find one you can at least drive on a daily basis while you fix it up...not to mention OPGI is starting to make reproduction parts for them soon. good luck in your search.

  • Im thinking you were at the mall and took a video of it. It's not really yours is it? lol

  • in Japan??? wow

  • absolute BEUTY!

  • THIS CAR IS RUTHLESS,ROLLING ART!

  • I love this car. Since I saw it in Crank and said, "What the fuck is that."

I know have a long term project in mind to rebuild one of these. The first hurdle, finding one. People that have a boattail ain't letting them go.

  • Its a love it or hate it car, that said, don't be a dick.

  • i love the car,...i just hate how they tried to make it "cool" by putting shopping-cart wheels on it...

  • Well, I will agree with you there, the wheels are stupid. But it's better than sitting in a junk yard rotting away.

  • yeah, thank god for that!

    ...

  • Do many people ask you about it?

  • whats the length of that beautifull car

  • 218.3 inches for '72, I believe.

  • better then the ugly tall boxes they call cars in japan

  • sick ride dude

  • how is your car lowered?

  • @eurocabi

    Thats the stock ride height

  • very nice ride.

  • the 71 is the fastest 72 and 73 they put more and more oxyegen shit on the engine

  • did u find it there or did u import it, if so how much did it cost?

  • which riviera is the fastest, the 71,72,or 73?

  • great looking buick.

    dark, low, evil...i like it!

  • Thank you!! \(^^)

  • That's exactly how I would describe it.

  • i dont understand why take a fucking awsome car and put gay after market parts and lower it you ruined it it looks like crap

  • gangster..

  • its just a car

  • Very sexy car

  • dont sale that never you are very lucky man

  • Superbad. Too much beauty in one car. Where have I been? How come I didn't know this already?

  • pure sex!!!! you're a lucky man

  • BatMan Returns. Sweeeeeeeeet!

  • dünyanın en güzel arabası

  • turkish???

  • evet turkish :)

  • That's how they are supposed to sound. Powerful and quiet.

  • badass car

  • beautiful car

  • it looks good with those tires and rims.

    what size are they?

  • ???

    F17-8J T-245

    R17-9.5J T-275

    and tri-bar spinner

  • Now I am curious, I must ask you C3r72m92, were these cars ever sold in Japan during the 1970s or they had to be later imported by particular individuals?

  • My uncle had one as his first car. My dad still tells me stories about it.

  • your uncle is a motherfucker and same whit your dad

  • ke tamarrata...

  • very clever design tip! By blacking out the rear window and removing the chrome trim around the window, it becomes ONE with the nice black paint job. Looks like a sleak fastback musclecar like this. I love it.

How did you lower it so much?

  • Beautiful! Just beautiful! I wish my 90 Rivi was the old boattail design!

  • this car is gorgeous, a dream-car, I wonder how much it would cost me to bring one in Europe (East-Europe)I have never seen one in reality:(

  • @theosi89

    There's a few in Norway.

  • Gorgeous car !! thanks for the posting.

I have one that has NEVER been touched other than replacing the points and distributor cap, and I thin aset of wiper blades. Only About 18k all original, untouched miles miles. Two battery changes that I know of and I put air in the tires a few times.

  • @Rivieratime 2 batterys changes !! you need to run a direct ground to the frame !! something gm should of done in production i had some trouble with my buick so i know i got 72 buick skylark and i was getting pissed the battery was dead after 9 hours then it was every hour then it was instant i got 2 guage ground from the top post to the frame and never had trouble ever again and it starts soon as i hit the key :)

  • @midnitesquirldog . Hi-- Thanks for the info , but I never a ground problem. I don't leave a battery in the car when I store it. It's never good to leave a live battery in a "long term storage" car, nor leave a battery discharged for long. I only install it to run the engine a few times each year to keep everything fresh and lubricated. That means that over the past 30 years I have had 2 new 71-RIV replacement batteries installed, but they also got used in other classic cars or daily drivers.

  • Yeah you are right! its yours and you can build it the way you want...

I was just my opinion... but its a bad ass rivi dude! really like it

  • Thanks for commenting on my video

  • its a nice one,,, but really dont like the zebra interior and painted lower part of the front bumper

  • It is my style. I think that it is not necessary to unite with your style.

  • man i gotta get one of those i wanna have one prolly all silver or platinum or something with matching platinum or silver daytons with 24 hydraulic switches heheheheheh so i can go 3 wheelin in the avenuuueeee lol

  • damn dont put 24 switchs in a rivi... and boattail are not really good for doing some three... they laylow bro!

I have a 72 riviera... on 14" wire wheels... will put the switchs soon... dont put more then 10 switch

  • Wow, what a great car `!

  • Thank you!!!

  • Gotta love how the car doesn't fit in the parking spaces.

  • My God that is beautiful! What size rims are those?

  • Nice. I have a 71

  • Can you tell me what the specs on the wheels are? Brand and size?

  • American Racing Wheel

    torq-thrust II polished

    F17-8J R17-9.5J

    and tri-bar spinner

  • Watch out for speed bumps, man! That boat would be in dry dock if you did.

  • DAAAYYYYUUUMMMM

  • your riv is perfect dont mess with it props

  • one of the coolest cars ive seen in a while... it must really widen eyes over there in japan

  • hahahah i get it widen the eyes

  • that thing is smoooooooth

It would look pretty wild here in the USA but it must really rattle their retinas in Japan

  • i had a 71 and a 72 the 71 was all stock needed alot of work the 72 ran but still needed work i sold them for 800$ for both the guy turned around and sent the 72 to the junk yard i kick myself everyday for doing that but yours is very nice dont EVER get rid of it

  • i use to walk by a 72 on my way home from school every day and i was amazed at how big the back window and back deck were.i bet you could fit a couple of 15" subs back there!!nice job with it!if i saw you in the rear view mirror of my 04 Park Avenue i would get the hell out of your way!!!keep up the Buick tradition!!

  • i use to walk home from school by a 72 every day and i was amazed at how big and long the back window and back deck were,i am sure you could fit a couple of 15" subs on the deck alone!! nice work.if i saw you driving up on my 04 park avenue i would get the hell out of your way!!!!keep up the Buick tradition!!!!

  • Riviera boattail is a nice car ;) very nice :) try to put some just a little bit bigger wheels :) one or two inches, cos for now they are just to tiny for such a big car and maybe some chrome mirros, the car is to dark in the center it looks like the handle is not enough

you have a very nice car :)

  • 72 best looking ever

  • beautiful car, wish I had one. Thanks for sharing.
