@Allureist every song that is catchy and chart friendly is pop. just because it sounds agressive doesn't make it alternative. (Metallica for example). mcr's first record was pop rock desguised as something that sounded like hardcore punk while had anything to do with it. they were like the bastard sons of thursday. i woulnd't say it was screamo, but it scraped it. calling it post hardcore is just lazy. it's just good pop rock with some goth& lo-fi aesthetics.nothing wrong with that.

You can't say you're a punk and wear Nike shoes for example (i'm not saying you do) because the concept of punk comes from an very anti-capitalist movement. Punk is nothing else than the embodyment of anti capitalism. You can't call yourself a punk and have a believe in capitalism. The same way you can't call yourself a christian if you don't believe in god.
