A piaffe is much too early for a 4 yo.

She's still a baby and has to find her ballance at first. Sorry but this is not correct. You can say what ever you want but this is overworking. Look at her. Her muscles are not mature at all!

lovely. I have watched many videos to try to see how to teach a horse to Piaffe but I still havn't got a clue. It would be great if you could do a "how to start" video. I like that you are soft and gentle with your horse and still get great results.

@trevelen66 depends on the horse and wether you whant a true "sitting" pieaffe or just passage on the spot. Horses that don't have enough energy can be taught to alternate lifting the legs inhand with a little whip wilst horses with lots of stamina may be simply taught by alternating the gaits trot with walking backwards.

You seem like a very fair and knowledgeable trainer. Have you considered posting videos on dressage basics and how to fix common problems encountered in dressage for both horses and riders? I'm a hunter and jumper rider who recently started riding with an eventing instructor about a year ago, and I'm very eager to learn and master dressage, but I find it very difficult. I would appreciate it greatly if you could post some more helpful videos. You have an absolutely gorgeous horse as well!

@Anima181 would agree. these cant be rushed. also it wasnt a true piaffe as the hind legs were not elevating enough and the forelegs were not coming high enough either. the 'thigh' of the foreleg should be at a 90degree angle from the ground
