  • The ingredient called for Ritz crackers. Not CRACKER brand crackers. Sad day.

  • Oh cummon! Totally cheating... anything would taste good with that cheese mixture all over it!

  • @hadra568 thanx so much for explaining that because I was like "wha?" when he made the reference. That's the one regret I have being born in the 90s. I missed so much great television and music from the 60s and 70s. :D

  • Only alton brown has the ability to follow you into the next channel

  • i prefer nitrile gloves. plus you can use them for first aid. *multi-tasker*

  • Okay, John, you can eat all the stems you want, some of us may prefer not to eat stems. I agree with Alton, when eating greens, cut off the stems and throw them away. Especially since the dish he was cooking only called for the green top . . .

  • This was good information, but one thing he said was way off. The stem of the beet is completely eatable and delicious. Take the leaf and the stems cut them in 1 to 1 1/2 inches and cook them in chicken or beef broth with 1 chopped onion they are delicous. NEVER throw the stem away..

  • I've had beets prepared like AB's shown, and I still can't eat them. I seriously become nausiated when they touch my throat, but people need to give this root another chance because their still seriously.....you know :)

  • @BlackWolfessUSCM You're a fuckin' idiot.

  • love the plunger things...

I mean, who can't love a mix of something u used to play with and an actual kitchen tool!!

  • What is Quincy?

don't say a race from the anime bleach *mean face*

  • Quincy M.E. Starred Jack Klugman as a medical examiner/amateur detective.

  • @kakashiXAino The name of the Iguana in the comic Foxtrot

  • @kakashiXAino

Quincy, or "Quincy M.E." was a tv show from the 70s. Quincy was a forensic pathologist for LA County Police, played by Jack Klugman.

  • I used to watch Quincy! I miss that show

  • wait he said hes allergic to oysters, but ive seen him eat them in shell game?

  • I thnk it's about cross contamination

  • That show he did not eat a single one. He had coca carl eat them. As for touching he did not touch the meat itself in most of the episode.

  • he ate the soup i think... and he had a raw oyster w/ that homemade horseradish

  • @ncisheadslapper actually, if you watch closely, they edited the show so that you never actually see him eating one. It always cuts away or cuts to him right after, so he could have just pretended there was one there when there really wasn't. And as for the soup, perhaps the bowl he had was made without the oysters in it so that he could be shown eating it. Just some speculations :-)

  • @captainessklutz ...Doesn't he have a show where he flat out eats oysters in a half shell...?

  • @Pyroblazer Well he pretends to but just as he does they always cut away and off camera he makes the slurp sound.

  • maybe he took one for the team and had an epipen in his pocket

  • peeled

    frenched

    whats wrong u sissy lol!

  • I absolutely love pickled beets. I have serious self control problem with eating them.

    Thank you LikeTheHat.

  • Beets make my mouth feel kind of numb.

  • I think something's wrong with your mouth O.o

    Woo! Thanks LTH!

  • AB is the only person I know of that still says groovy

  • I say groovy.

  • if you look closely to all his shows, he uses both hands to chop food!! a genius!!!!

  • haha The blooper at the end was hilarious. AB's laugh is contagious.

  • Damn, that thing at the end looked so good. I bet you could make it with Spinach too.

  • I wish he wouldn't rush through so many recipies at the end, those usually seem to be the ones I like ^^ ~Kat

  • they're all on the website...

  • Do you need to peel the beets for the the glazed recipe in the saute pan?

  • i dont think so, it should be fine unpeeled, the skins are still very thin and not bitter yet, or peel them... either way should work ok

  • I think not because he said to use a little scrubby thing - which he did BEFORE removing the skins.

  • Funny episode. Always did like beets. Mostly.

  • Daaarn, the sound messed up a little on this one.

  • A little sound desynchronization doesn't matter as long as it's good eats.

  • well said
