@Krywiggles No, these troops are from the Panzertruppe, in fact, part of the Wehrmacht Heer (Army). The Totenkopf insignia is the same used by the Waffen SS, but, if they were from the SS, they would at least have the two-S insignia along with it.

Neen, inderdaad ("en effet"), Hauer is veel grover gebouwd dan Shaw. Hauer is qua (v.w.b. = voor wat betreft) bouw meer vergelijkbaar met bv. Gérard Depardieu, een bekende Franse acteur van ongeveer zijn leeftijd : grof, breed, zwaar, blond en blauwogig, met alles wat erbij hoort. Hauer en Depardieu zijn meer oergermanen, terwijl Shaw meer voor een gestileerde vorm van een Germaan lijkt te kunnen doorgaan. Beide varianten hebben hun charme/bekoring.

De trekken doen een dergelijke afkomst vermoeden. Veel Syriërs zijn afstammelingen van Frankische kruisridders. Daarnaast is het land een Frans mandaatgebied geweest tussen 1920-'46 ; verdere vermenging is niet uitgesloten.

Isaac is joods, maar de naam vindt men ook vaak terug bij christenen van het behoudender soort, om maar niet het woord "fundamentalistisch" te gebruiken. Zo zijn Johannes en Jacob (mijn eerste naam) ook joods, maar ook christelijk Het loopt wat door elkaar heen. Toch kan men aan namen, en zéker aan achternamen (=familienamen) vaak een herkomst afleiden : personen met dieren-, beroeps- of stadsnamen hebben vaak een joodse achtergrond. ( 1 .)

Duidelijk Joodse namen zijn (in NL) bijvoorbeeld : Cohen, Levi, Polak, waarvan 'Cohen' en 'Levi' volgens mij Sefardisch zijn en 'Polak' Asjkenazisch-Pools. Ik denk dat vluchtelingen of nieuwkomers zo niet denken, of ze nu politiek of economisch vluchteling zijn. Zij hopen alle op een prettig en eeuwigdurend verblijf alhier. Als ze daarvoor met een Europeaan moeten paren/vermengen nemen zij dat op de koop toe (=aanvaarden/accepteren). Bovendien willen vrouwen hun eerste kind als ze 30-35 jaar oud zijn. Ook de NL. mannen hebben een late of vaak geen kinderwens, pas bij gemiddeld 36 jaar. Dan zijn ze eigenlijk al bijna opa! Maar alle niet-westerse allochtonen (vreemdelingen uit Afrika, Azië en Z-Amerika) lopen hier achter een kinderwagen aan te sjokken/sloffen. ( 1. )
