Do you understand what it would mean for a vaccine to cause autism? While horribly stumbled upon, you would have a vaccine that could change GENETICS. That in itself would be a medical breakthrough and grounds for nobel prize winning material. The simplest solution is that women are having children later in life than normal. Crudely put, the eggs the women are BORN with have gone bad. Not %100 of all autism cases are related to this, but it is a huge culprit.

A) The MMR vaccine no longer contains thimerosol (which is what the anti vax loons consider mercury, even though that's not entirely accurate), and B) Even when it did, the amount of mercury that entered your system was a tiny fraction of what you'd get eating a tuna sandwich. You really need to do some actual research, instead of just reading anti-vaccine websites.

Global warming has been discussed since the 1950's. There were a handful of scientists in the 70's that proposed cooling was more likely, but they were not the majority. A few facts about autism & increasing rates: The range of symptoms that are considered autism was dramatically increased, leading to far more people being diagnosed. Also, diagnosis techniques have improved dramatically, also leading to more diagnosis. I don't know what kind of fantasy world you live in, but I don't get the impression you're interested in honest research, just trying to prove yourself right.

Oxygen has been shown to damage DNA en vivo. Oxygen free radicals are a common product of cellular biochemistry. All you need is a free radical to hit the right spot on the p53 gene and you'll possibly get a cancer cell. Now there are a few innate checks and balances built in to kill off cancer cells but these don't always work.

PMbeers: Rubella is mostly damaging to the growing fetus of a pregnant woman. There was a rubella epidemic in the early 1960s, which resulted in many stillbirths, and then the children who were born alive but had disabilities including deafness, blindness, severe mental retardation and autism. Rubella in utero is a known cause of autism.
