Amuzing!!!! Recently I witnessed Aishwarya dancing this same varnam at live prog, and that was 100% replica of her Natyanjali prog. I mean, it was EXACTLY the same. Dead identical!
Her guru needs to explain her that theres diference between art and mass production: in art every piece is unique, but in mass prod. all items are the same!
I have a point I observe that all dancers, including the great Dhananjayans or Anita Ratnam or Chithra Vis. reproduce the same steps and same stories as abhinaya;
That is why dance program mes are known as dance recitals.
It was during the days of Balasaraswathy the dance used to be purely extempore. The sanchari was purely in the hands of the artiste and, the orchestra and the dancer had some signs ( they were part of dance movement itself) which used to be the base for changing.
does it have to keep her torso like that upright at 1.01 ?
at between 1.25 to 1.28 her right arm remains very rigid, -maybe it's just matter of style?
she couldnot bend to the right at 1.59? in the adavus, at 2.40, her left arm turned back fully, but at 2.41 her right arm didnot do the same. at the end, 2.43, her arms made obvios short-cuts.
Stumbled upon your video when looking through Narthaki. com discussion board. Your web-site title says that you're Indias most talented dancer of Bharatanatyam? Hmmmmmm.......
She is blessed with a beautiful face and figure, and her mukhaabhinaya is ok, but there's not much life in it. Looks like a mask -stiff, put-on, and jerky.
actually the dancers are supposed to keep their knees back in ardha-mandali, arent they?
this tailoring hides it. the fan is stitched on almost backs of the hips, so it give a look like the ardha-mandali is proper - if you look from the front.
very good show aishwarya

She is very good anyway. Surely she has to improve, like sitting lower and bending her knees more. Did you like her expressions?
